Michael Cosgrove

Michael was a fine player who won SHC medals in 1975 & 1976 and a JHC medal with Lough Lene Gaels in 1973.  He played for many years with the Westmeath SH team winning All-Ireland "B" championships medals in 1975 and 1984.  He played for Westmeath in their famous Church and General N.H.L clash versus Kilkenny at Portlaoise in 1986, having a late goal disallowed in the match.
Michael emigrated to the USA in the late 1980's winning New York S.H championships with the Westmeath club.  Returning to live in Ireland Michael trained a Chris Corrigan managed Lough Lene Gaels to win the Westmeath S.H. title in 1996.  Michael also assisted Westmeath to win the New York S.H. championship in 1996.
Michael himself managed and coached Lough Lene Gaels to reach the Westmeath S.H. finals in the 1997,1998, 1999, 2000 & 2002.  Having only lost the 1997 final by a single score, Lough Lene Gaels won Westmeath S.H. titles in 1998, 1999, 2000 & 2002.
In the year 2000 Michael was manager and coach of both the Lough Lene Gaels and Westmeath senior hurling teams.  He guided the Gaels to win the coveted 3-in-a-row and for good measure guided Westmeath to win the Kehoe Cup SH competition in the year 2000.

Sean Fitzpatrick

One of the forces behind the formation of Lough Lene Gaels in 1969.  As a player Sean won J.H championship medals with Glenidan in 1954 and 1962.  He was a selector when Lough Lene Gaels won the J.H championship in 1973.  In recent years Sean was a great fundraiser at the clubs Tuesday night bingo in Collinstown Hall.  His sudden death on Sunday June 13th 1999 caused great sadness in the Collinstown and Glenidan areas and beyond.

Michael Williams (SNR)

A fine player with Rickardstown, Michael gave excellent service to Lough Lene Gaels as an official.  He won an over 40's 7-a-side tournament with the club in 1973.  In 1985 Michael and his 12 year old son Brndan played for the club in the final of the Power Cup S.H. tournament v Cullion.  Father and son each scored a goal as Lough Lene Gaels, despite being understrength, won 2-11 to 3-5.  Michael's death at the age of 61 in May 1994 while recovering from surgery came as a great shock to the Lough Lene Gaels hurling club.

John O'Farrell

Although underachieving somewhat as a player, John, a modest individual, was a much better player than he professed himself to be.  He played for Westmeath in the U-14/U-16 and minor grades.  As a club coach John has a superb record as one of the "3 wise men" along with Noel Briody and Bernie Conaty, guiding the Gaels to many underage successes in juvenile grades from 1987 to 1997 inclusive.
