[In The Commander's quarters...]
Raith is sitting at his desk, lit by the now traditional blue system lights. Riam enters the quarters and stands across from him.
trRaith: ::folds his arms across his chest and decides to be blunt:: Who are you?
tr'Riam stands with the detached dignified air of a practiced politician, "Jolan'tru. I am tr'Riam. Might I ask who I am addressing?"
trRaith: I am Sub commander Raith of the Kalen. The Commanding officer
of this ship. Might I ask where you came from and how you got into the
mine field?
An eyebrow arches curiously, "I see. The name sounds vaguely familiar. I am the diplomatic envoy to this system from Romulus."
trRaith: ::frowns:: Oh really?.... when did ch`Rihan re-open
communications with the Argada? I was under the impression that we were still not on good turns after the war. ::shrugs:: but I'm just an officer in the Rei`Krannsu.
tr'Riam frowns, "I don't believe I am at liberty to say."
trRaith: ::shrugs again:: perhaps I could get it out of you... perhaps
not... doesnt matter to me ::reaches up on his shelf and pulls down a
drink and offers Riam a glass:: Do you know where you are? What ship
this is? I could have you killed and be in my own bounds.
tr'Riam takes the glass and studies it curiously, "Yes, you could."
trRaith: We are not an Imperial ship anymore... we are to an extent
rouge -- and as you are apparently in the consulate... I should by all means have you executed.
"Shall we stop this idle banter and get to the point," Riam suddenly
says in a brisque tone, "Had you wanted me dead, I would be dead, yes?
So, then... what do you want?"
trRaith: I leave this to you -- what good are you to me? ::Raith's
fingers lock before him::
Again, tr'Riam quirks a brow, "Since I know nothing of you or your aims
-- save that you are rogue -- I can't saay."
trRaith: You are an ambassador... I am a politician of sorts. I could use an aide perhaps.
"And why, exactly, would I help traitors?"
trRaith: ::shrugs:: To save your life perhaps?
tr'Riam's eyes narrow, "I'm not afraid to die for the Empire."
trRaith: I doubt that ::holds up an ISD:: I read your flight log and
some of your stored data. You seem to have been sent as cannon fodder by one in the diplomatic sub council ::grins:: They don't seem to mind you dieing for the empire either. I am offering you your life. Take it or leave it. If I let you go the empire will kill you anyway.
There's a lengthy pause before the reply is given. "I will require some
time to make such a decision. Is that all right?"
trRaith: ::nods:: security will see you to temporary quarters...
tr'Riam bows graciously before turning to leave, "Thank you."
trRaith: ...you will be sharing with tr`Ragarok
tr'Riam grimaces slightly, but nods, exiting.
