[Kalen]
With the ship docked, everyone was enjoying a rest. Meira had taken
this time to talk to her Aunt Den more about the situation the Kalen
was in. Her Aunt was excited by her appointment as CO of the new ship.
But Meira could sense some hesitation on her Aunt's part, and wondered
about it.
"Ruanek and I are very pleased to hear about the new ship and au
command, Aunt. " Meira replied, shifting slightly as she sat with her
legs under her, drinking a cup of hot R`lenh tea.
"Ie. So am I. although I have na commanded a ship since the
Rahkholh...and I fear I am out of practice..." She replied, looking out
the windows at the planet below.
"I am sure au will do fine, Aunt. Raith would na have given au a
command if he did na feel au could do this..." Den looked at her, green
eyes a bit intense.
"Au think so? I am beginging to wonder if this is all some sort
of....." Den started, then shook her head not continuing. Meira raised
an eyebrow curious as to what her Aunt was about to say.
"Is something bothering au about all this, Aunt? Au know au can talk to
me.." Den nodded and sighed.
"Ie. But..I can na right now. It is just something I am...feeling. I
can na place it..or shake it..." She said drinking some of her tea.
"Is it about the General?" Meira said, gently probing for an answer.
"Do na worry about it, Meira...it is just an old ladies rumblings..na
for au to worry about..." Den replied, setting down the cup on the
table between the sofa and the chair.
"I do need to go now..I am working on the crew list for my ship and am
waiting to be contacted by one of them" Den replied as Meira stood up,
hugging her Aunt.
"Jolan Tru, Aunt. Be well" Meira replied as Den left. Meira stared at
the door for a few minutes, then moved to the desk to check a ISD.
Something was wrong. She was na sure what it was...but there was
something wrong. She went to look for Ruanek, needing to speak to him.
Maybe they could go for a walk on the planet. She had been so busy with
medical, this was the first break she had had for awhile.
