SRR Ra`KalenChapter One Hundred-Twenty-Three:
To Attack Or Not To Attack...
[Kalen]

An RSE Warbird......the words bounced around in Tasrek's mind. The Empress was trying to ignore the Republic. She had learned that the Republic was not just some small rebellion she could snuff out like a burning ember. Every week thousands defected to the Republic. Most young students, tired of the old ways, not really truly wanting the Imperialistic habits of their elders. Now the Empire was not miserly old fools, but a super war machine. They had the combined knowledge of thousands of years fighting, first against themselves and then the rest of the universe. What did the infantile Republic have? Ideals? Whatever they had he was pretty certain that those Warbirds would be on the receiving end of it......how ever big IT was going to be.

Tasrek> ::searching the viewer with his eyes:: Wonder what they are doing out here? They know that they are breaking treaty just by being in the neutral zone. Let alone flying through it.

Kandeen> Correction. They are breaking treaty....if...or ....when they get caught.

Tasrek> Of course, but they have been haven't they?

Kandeen> Not yet.

Just then off the Starboard bow an RSE D'dederix class warbird decloaks for an instant. Just long enough to send, what Tasrek recognized as a pattern "B" dispersal of plasma torps. The torps traveled through the task group without so much as a spark. Flying off through space harmlessly.

Kuro> ::watching his console:: The act of a desperate captain? or a fool?

Kandeen> ::sits back in his throne:: Any suggestions? ::looking around the bridge at his various officers::

Tasrek> Rekkhai, I believe waiting may be a good choice for now.

Kuro> (q)Fvai.

Kandeen> ::turning to look at Kuro:: You have a better idea?

Kuro> Perhaps we should attack and capture their ship...claim it for the New Republic... ::stops as he is interrupted::

Kandeen>::interrupting Kuro:: t'Kuro. I agree. That ship would make an excellent trophy as well as asset for the Republic. Who knows.....you might get a ship named after you some day. ::sitting smugly into his throne once again, he nods to Tasrek::
