SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter Eighty-Two: Vynnd's Team
[On the Empress' Time Weapon....]

The other half of the Wildstrike Boarding Team walked through the corridors in the opposite direction from the others. Vyynd tr`Khaine leads the team towards the turbolifts at the far end of the corridor they had just come to. Aeris t`Rharin walked along slightly behind Vyynd, trying her best to look like the Imperials around them. tr`Nigh, with a multicorder in hand, scans the halls, hiding the device whenever anyone comes near; while the other Eredh keeps rear guard, uncomfortable with the Imperial colours on his back, and trying not to show it.

Vyynd nods his head to an Imperial passing them by, then quickly jumps into the lift, followed by the others. Once everyone's in, the Agent bringing up the rear slips out a small patch, and places it on the underside of the lift's guard rail, while Aeris asks of Vyynd quietly, "Any idea of where we're going, other then the lounge?"

Vyynd looks back at everyone, then focuses on Aeris, "Hrm...we'll stop into io of the officers quarters on the way....depending on how resourceful that proves, possibly a few other places."

The rear-guard Agent nods to tr`Nigh, the field scientist, as he pulls the safety off the explosive he had just set. "I hope that remote of ninte-a is still good." he says quietly.

"I can't be sure with all the interference around..." tr`Nigh returns just as quietly glancing up from his multicorder.

The rear-guard Agent grimaces at that, "Then I'll have to use a time delay." he mutters, sliding a smaller cylinder into the patche's base, and hopes that 10 seuren-a is enough...or not too much.

After a few moments with the four of them standing in the lift, the computer's voice requests with an almost bored-sounding air, "Please state destination." Aeris looked to Vyynd, then nudges him with an elbow when he still didn't say anything.

Vyynd looks up from the isd he had been focused on, zoning back into the present. "Fvadt it, deck 37..."

Peeking at the isd in his hand, Aeris taps a finger on the screen where the room of what little layout was allowed to them looked a little bigger. "That io must have possibilities. It's slightly larger then the others....perhaps we can find something from there?" she offered hopefully as the lift whirrs into action.

Rubbing the back of his head, Vyynd replies "More then likely...."

Within seconds, the lift arrives at it's destination and the doors open. Aeris lowers her hand to her weapon, standing ready, and waiting for Vyynd to step out first. Vyynd casts a quick glance to make sure the team's rear-guard had finished with his directive, and noticed that the Agent leaned against the lift wall, unconcerned and ready to fall back into rear-guard posture. "Alrighty..." stepping out, Vyynd scans the corridor with his eyes briefly, then heads for the room Aeris had pointed out, "Down the corridor, to the right." Aeris is next, followed by tr`Nigh who's eyes drift momentarily back to the explosive that the rear-guard had placed. Once the others have exited the lift, the rear-guard trails after non-chalantly, almost looking like he's whistling. "It's the fifth door down..." Vyynd notes, looking back up from the isd again, and continues on, counting the doors they passed silently until they reach the right room.

Coming to the appropriate door, Vyynd checks quickly for any guards lurking in the corridor, then pushes a button on the door panel, opening it. He waltzes in casually to see three Imperials chatting at a fairly large board table. "Jolan'tru gentlemen...." he says off-hand, glancing back to make sure the others have followed him in. Aeris comes up just as casually behind him, nodding her head slightly to the Imperial faces before her, as tr`Nigh steps into the room and fans out to the right slightly. The rear-guard is last inside the room, his pistol already sliding out of his sleeve and behind his back, just as the door closes behind him.

The Imperial with the sever-looking face nearest to Vyynd begins, "State ninte busi...."

"I trust," Vyynd interrupts, "Au have all been briefed on the Oah`sheit operation?" As he spoke, he pulled out his pistol and shot the Imperial who had spoken. The rear-guard had been waiting for such a signal, and his gas propelled carbine silently drops another as the third Imperial draws his own weapon and takes a pot shot, which misses completely. tr`Nigh blasts the remaining Imperial with a non-standard issue weapon, ending the problem.

Walking closer to the table, Vyynd pushes a dead body out of the way, and opens a panel in the table's surface. "Good work..." he nods to the others as he starts hacking into the terminal to access most of the ship's network. Aeris stands near the door they had entered, waiting for any others that might suddenly decide to join them.

The rear-guard agent grits his teeth. He would have complained about the Leih using a disruptor, but it was na his place. tr`Nigh sees the look pass the rear-guard's features and explains quietly, "Rhagarokk issue...na detectable."

Vyynd feels the team looking at him a bit wide-eyed, and looks up briefly, "Hey...I *love* this pistol!" was all he offered for an explanation, then got back to work on the terminal. The Agent doesn't reply but drags the body of the one he had dropped to a closet and pushes it in. tr`Nigh busies himself by taking out his multicorder and scanning for approaching lifesigns.

After a few moments of replacing codes with his own, less then legit ones, a confused look comes over Vyynd's face. "Hrm...I've accessed the network...but....." he trails off, looking intently at the screen.

"But?" Aeris questions, "But what? Do au have it, or na?"

"Well, I retrieved the basic layout of most of the ship..." Vyynd nods, "But now it's giving me...." he pauses and scratches his head, "The snack bar?!" he chuckles and looks up to the others, "Anybody need to use the bathrooms?"

tr'Nigh pushes up his glasses, turning this new dilemma over in his mind, "The system's obviously protected against the time distortion, so that can't be it..."

"I *hope*," Vyynd looks back to the screen, "this is the other's work....else we're na the only ones messing around here..."

After a moment more, as Vyynd tries once again to figure out what's wrong with the terminal in front of him, tr`Yhylk's voice comes quietly through the ip. "Sending au the layout of the ship now... use the maintenance tunnels as the lifts won't be in working order. Au have 30 siuren-a to find engineering....." his voice pauses a moment, then comes back with, "Make that 20 siuren-a.... we'll meet in the lounge..."

Aeris, typing on her isd, sees a complete layout of the ship remote-downloading. "Got it, rekkhai..."she heads over to Vyynd, holding the isd out to him. "Layout of the ship...." she points to the spot on the screen, "Engineering is right here..."

Vyynd looks up at the rear-guard agent, "Do we *have* 20 seuren-a?"

"Na quite, but we can manage."

"Hann`yyo..." Vyynd nods, and takes the isd from Aeris, then compares it to the layout he had just brought up on the board-room's terminal. "Okay, this console is entirely off anyway...." he closes the panel and stands up, looking at the layout on the isd, "Terrific....let's move...." Making sure the non-vaporized body has been taken care of, he straightens the room a bit, then heads to the door. "We ready?"

Seeing the nods of the others Aeris asks, "Nearest tunnel, rekkhai?"

Vyynd resumes his happy Imperial guise as he checks over the isd. "Across the hall from two doors down..." he replies, opening the board-room door and strolling out. The others fall back into their places behind him.

As the near their destination, tr`Nigh reports quietly, "Single, coming down from the other hall in a few seuren-a." The rear-guard agent readies himself, his pistol having been re-hidden in his sleeve.

Vyynd glances back as Aeris reaches out and opens the access tunnel's panel. "Just enough time." he nods. Aeris waves the field scientist in, then climbs in after him. Vyynd keeps his eye out for the approaching Imperial as he waits to see everybody into the tunnel, then he climbs in, and closes it just before the Imperial rounded the corner of the corridor.

As they all wait for Vyynd to take point, tr`Nigh asks through the ip, "Where now?"

Vyynd crawls upto the front of the people-train, and answers "Now...down. Several decks." They start moving, the rear-guard crouching down, following slowly as he had to walk backwards.
