SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter Forty-One: "What are you doing, Dave?"
Excerpt from the Astrophysical Academy lab report on the "Professor" Computer System and Hologram:

"We here at R&D are quite familiar with the late Vaed'Rehai tr'Ragarok's works. It is because we are familiar that we don't immediately dismiss a program based mostly on random number generation. It is from this complex algorithm of apparently random decisions that the program derives it's operation. At the same time, in an odd way that even our best computer science boys can't explain, the program simulates actual brain pattern learning processes. Thus from Chaos becomes Order, and from Order comes flexibility to adapt. I think I'll stick to rolling dice."

Rhagarokk muttered to himself about the lack of a good engineering team onboard. He was used to working with the best, a collection of talented individuals ready to meet any challenge with innovation and imagination. What he had on the Wildstrike was a glorified repair crew... who only had interest in putting back together the software soup on the holomatrices, not improving upon them. And given a low priority, especially with an important mission coming up, the engineering crew had opted to wait to repair it. Which meant that Rhagarokk was going to do it himself.

"Computer," he called snapping a final piece into place on the ceiling, "Run diagnostic hologram procedure alpha io through the enhanced holomatrix."

"Unable to comply," replied the Computer, "Ej'Doh Qapla Patahk!"

Rhagrokk, being multilingual, looked puzzled for a second. "Spacestation Success Insult?"

Changing voices drastically, the computer replied, "Time to die, kiddies!" followed by a series of clownish laughter.

"Fvadt computer... I must have fried something when making the improvements... Rhagarokk to operations, isolate the computer in here from the rest of the deck."

"Na." came the reply from the com.

Rhagarokk paused for a second. "What do au mean, na?"

"Na." came the response again.

"If this is some kind of joke, Ops..."

"Na."

"That does it, I'm coming up there." The irritated Leih tossed down his parts and walked to the door. Opening the door and stepping out, Rhagarokk looked around... he had stepped back into his lab. Turning around, the Leih stepped back through the door... only to be in his lab again. "Grr..." grumbled the Leih, "Computer, end program." No effect. Rhagarokk drew his kaleh from its sheath. "Look, computer, if au don't end this nonsense right now..." Rhagarokk waved an arc with his kaleh. "...I will be forced to use my 'executive override' Understand?" There was no response to this. Rhagarokk prepared to strike against several panels when he noticed something strange: the various parts in the room were getting up and moving towards him...

[Oira]

"Spiders... spiders everywhere..." Arachnids, slowly covering the entire room, crept over everything. Several crew were hurriedly stomping at them, while several security had drawn disruptors and were blasting away. Nothing seemed to be helping, and the crew was slowly retreating to a corner of the Bridge to escape. Punching in a few commands, the Gonaiih set the ship to continue towards the supply station and to come out of warp once there. She then picked up a weapon and began to fight as well...
