SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Fifty-Five:
Promotion of Vyynd
[240104.03 Ancient ch'Rihan: Early Nighttime]

It has been an exciting day to say the least. The village had mostly settled down from the events of the day, but with injuries, causalities, and just general excitement, many still lie awake. Inside the Morrhae'vnu, Vyynd tr'Khaine sits in his office, contemplating the extensive reports on the entire happenings during the murders. From outside, there is a slight knock where the working door used to be. Vyynd looks up casually and says, "Enter..."

Rhagarokk, another one still awake, grins and walks in. "Jolan'tru, Vyynd," is the casual greeting from the Leih.

Vyynd nods and smiles. "Jolan'tru rekkhai," before putting the ISD he was working on down and folding his hand on his desk in front of him.

Without warning, the scientist Leih reaches into his elaborate coat and tosses the Agent a small black device. "I've got a new invention for au to try out during the upcoming conflict." says the inventor simply.

His honed Tal'Shiar reflexes kicking in, Vyynd easily catches the device. "Ie?" he asks, looking wide-eyed and curious over the device."

The Leih, happy to be doing what he likes and not having to ask about murders, responds "Go ahead, try it out. It's a new generation in personal shielding," explains the Leih, "I recommend au stand up first though." The Leih cautions.

Vyynd says exuberantly, "Excellent!" before hopping up and taking a step back from his desk, then activating the device in his hands.

As the switch is flipped, the box opens up, and two silver rank bars and one small green ribbon shoot off from the box directly at the Agent's uniform at speeds high enough to stagger him back but not enough to do any real damage. Vyynd yipes in slight surprise, than looks about himself laughing. "I'm afraid na even the Tal'Shiar can protect me from ninte mind!"

Rhagarokk, casually, takes out an ISD and makes a few notes. "Ie, an important lesson," the Leih gives a thoughtful pause and continues "It was supposed to obliterate the old rank bars first..." Then, snapping back to the situation, Rhagarokk takes on a more official tone of voice. "As ranking officer, I hearby promote au to Tal'Shiar erie'Arrain, with all privileges therein. In addition, it is my pleasure to award au with Okhala'kholhr Sagomh [Vengence of Fire Award] for excellence in Security."

The Agent bows happily. "Hann'yyo, rekkhai"

Rhagarokk nods and continues. "Au deserved it, 2nd Lieutenant. However, once we get back to the future, au may have some work ahead of au," he adds slightly gravely, "Oh, and speaking of work, are ninte agents ready for the conflict?"

"Ie, mostly," says Vyynd as he picks up an ISD and looks over it, "We've dismantled security devices as required, but ie, the last of my staff are reporting in soon, and Aeris has armed and briefed the crew as requested."

Rhagarokk nods once. "I want this operation pulled off as flawlessly as possible. We've already lost too many officers from io madman, I do na want to lose any more from primitive peoples. At best, they'll have projectile weapons and melee weapons." Rhagarokk crosses his arms and leans in the doorway. "Oh, and I did actually do work on the PSDs to screen out kinetic force instead of energy weapons, so we should be good."

Vyynd glances down at the dropped "Rank shooter" and then interrupts, "Ie, do we have a plan of attack yet?"

"Ie," begins Rhagarokk, lapsing into Professor mode, "I do na expect them to be expecting this at all, so it's a simple head on assault at the mining operation. From recon, their forces are spread throughout their territory. It's like they do n a expect any major threat to attack them, which is consistent with what Tacrun has read about them." Rhagarokk pauses. "We then concentrate on holding those mines for what little time we need them, and be fully mobile, ready to pull out at any given opportunity."

"Good then," says Vyynd, "I'll inform au when my men are fully prepared."

Rhagarokk, satisfied, gives his best Tal'Shiar salute. "See au later, erie'Arrain," The Leih pauses for dramatic effect before stating, "When we march into history." Before heading back out to get some rest.
