SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Fifty-Four:
The Case of the Missing Kaleh
[240104.03 Ancient ch'Rihan: Nighttime]

Rhagarokk tossed and turned in his cot. Normally, he'd be the one spending his sleep time inside the hulk of the Wildstrike itself (Leih privilege) but after what had gone on, he didn't feel right... besides, they still hadn't re-adjusted the environmental controls. But it was not the events of the day that had the Leih sleepless. And it wasn't even his usual cause for insomnia, the newest bit of research or newest invention. No, what troubled the Leih was that, for the first time in years, he was without his custom Kaleh. He had scanned, searched, looked around t'Seebia's tent, even had a very uncomfortable, lasted-only-a-few-minutes-but-seemed-like-forever conversation with the biologist to see if she had seen it. No luck. Whoever had removed has kaleh had known what they were doing. Which was really odd because, by all logical explanation, only two people should be able to do anything with it: Rhagarokk and tr'Ragarok, one of whom wouldn't be born for a long time.

The problem with genius brains is that they never stop working. Even when the body that they're confined in is otherwise occupied, or even when brain cells are being damaged, they keep working. Perhaps this is what makes a genius a genius- the constant usage of brain matter. The only problem is... what happens when the body and mind are kept apart?

"Rekkhai, something was discovered in the archives."

"Leave it."

The object was placed on the desk of the desk. The TAG supervisor leaned over to examine it, and pressing a control clearly marked, watched as information downloaded itself into his computer terminal. "Leave it to Rhagarokk to do status reports like this..." the Agent muttered. Reading through the data, the supervisor nodded to himself. Everything was going according to plan. They only needed a short time more before they found a way to return to the present, consistent with the timeline. The message asked for assistance, but the TAG Supervisor was not going to give it. History, such as it was, needed to play out its course.

"Get me anyone who had contact with this artifact." the man said simply into his communicator, and dropped the high-tech but obviously very old kaleh into the 25th century equivalent
