SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter Thirteen: Meanwhile...

[Meanwhile....back at the Cabin]

When last we saw our fearless Tal'Shiar agent: Vyynd had been suffering from a rather wicked hangover. While the Senator had gone back to the Morrhae'vnu to prepare protective suits for the boys, and Rylan D'Tarik and Bhy'hie all go out in search of adventure in the forest, Vyynd putters around the cabin quietly, keeping a villigent watch over the unconscious form of Llunih. He keeps himself occupied with polishing his Katana to a high gleam for awhile, but finally gives in to the boredom -- and his hangover -- and drifts off to sleep.

Only to be startled awake as the cabin's door suddenly bursts open just seconds before Bhy'hie runs into the room. Vyynd sits up quickly, looking around wildly and drawing his katana as he stood ready against attack, "What the Areinnye?!?!"

Bhy'hie pauses long enough to cast a glance his way, "Sorry. Only be a moment...." Obviously in a hurry of some kind, she starts rummaging though the house.

tr'Khaine rubs his forehead, finding himself very relieved to have allowed his headache to eleviate, "Whoa whoa whoa whoa there.....what the Areinnye-a going on out there?"

The blond shakes her head as she answers, still gathering what she had come back for. "Na thing. Just wanted to pick up a few things I forgot." she shrugs, trying her best to sound casual. "So....how's Llunih?" she asks, her mind still on the fact that D'Tarik was alone out there....and Rylan was probably in the colony already....again alone. She had no intention of bringing the others as she had promised D'Tarik she was going to. She knew all too well the kind of dangers that lay in wait for them at the colony. She wasn't going to risk two more lives.

Vyynd glares at the woman with extreme suspicion and scrutiny in his stance and eyes. "Motionless as ever.....I think she might have rolled over once!" he tried to fake excitment, "So au'rh just back to pick up a few things...then leave?? Why bother risking the trip?"

Again, Bhy'hie turns an eye to him as she loads a few of her personalized steaks in her jacket, and a quiver of arrows over her shoulder, "Well...I tried to talk them out of going....but that didn't work." she explains simply, "So...now I'm back for my weapons." She crosses the room to the closet, then opens the door, "As for 'why take the risk'," she grins at him, "I've been living on this planet a lot longer than au. I know what I'm doing."

Vyynd straightens out his outfit a little, stating bravely, "Ah.....well I would delight in coming along as a weapon, but leaving her alone is too much of a responsibility for me to take...."

The girl reaches into the closet, and pulls out a rather deadly looking crossbow as he speaks. She smiles ruefully, the gleam in her eye telling him that she was more than what she seemed, "Au a weapon?" she chuckles quietly, "Au'rh only an Eredh!" she nods slightly as she loads the crossbow, "But au are right about io thing...au shouldn't leave her alone."

Vyynd sheathes the katana he had drawn when the front door had first burst inward, and slings it onto his back, "And au..." he states flatly, controling his anger over her insult, "Aren't very good at using every asset at ninte disposal." He grins angrily, then turns from her and looks out a window passively.

Bhy'hie answers just as levelly as she heads for the cabin's front door again, "On the contrary. I know exactly how to use every asset I have. And right now, I rather have io card left up my sleave than three dead io-a."

"Well..." he brushes his hair back, and turns around with a kind smile, "Good luck then."

The blond halts at the door for a moment, then slowly looks back to him, "Luck?" she repeats, then adds with a shake of her head, "There's na such thing on this planet." She doesn't give him time to answer before she runs out the door again.

But Vyynd calls out behind her retreating figure before she disappears through the forest, "Well then.....I hope whatever there IS on this planet...it leaves you guys alone!" He laughs to himself a bit, watching as the girl disappears through the forest, before he closes the door of the cabin.

Looking around for something to do, Vyynd reaches up and grabs a low ceiling rafter and begins doing chin ups. Thinking to himself all the while...parts out loud, others merely silent thoughts.... "So.....what pains must have been brought down upon such nature?" He drops from the rafter, after a few pull-ups, and paces over to kneel beside the still form of Llunih.

"Rihhansu.....born, then originally mutated by gene-splicing......" he thinks -- half out loud, and half to himself, "What kind of pain comes from that? What kinds of torment can such pesonas go through without undergoing drastic change.....and then thrown into the faulty arms of a mad-man....D'Tarik.......I should sooner kill her then let her awake with the pain everyone has re-awakened in side of her!" His thoughts grew into shouts resounding deep inside his mind, "What kind of mercy could this be?!?!" The stressed young man pulls his katana sheath in front of him, and slowly draws the blade from it's home, bringing it to bear poised over the sleeping monstrousity.

As Vyynd draws the weapon, and prepares it for it's deadly strike, Llunih's eyes suddenly open. She looks at him wide-eyed and frightend, as she sniffs the air tentively.....but doesn't catch the scent of Rylan. She was alone with the Tal'Shiar that Rylan had na trusted! This realization brought an almost silent wimper from the girl, as she quickly tries to scramble away from the boy before her.

Vyynd's blade slices clear into a nearby window ledge, "Pain is not relieved through the ending of life..." he states, still looking at the frightened girl on the ground, "If au aren't allowed to be happy in the future, then ninte pain can't be cured in eternity." With a strange, saddend smile, he releases the hilt and collapses forward into a heap on the floor, clutching his head.

Llunih, still wide-eyed at the unexpectedness of it all, sniffs the air tenitively again...but doesn't smell the scent of an attack on the boy.....only great confusion. She watches the male carefully, as she stands, then slowly moves towards the table that her ISD is on. Typing out the words, she hands it to tr'Khaine, "Where is Rylan?" the green letters of the ISD ask. Llunih's eyes look stern, confused and frightened, but there is a deadly glow in them all the same.

Vyynd rolls over, pale and frightened. He grabs the ISD nervously, then groans out a sad response, "They went to the colony.....I decided to watch over au.....make sure au were ok....."

The silent girl raises a brow at this remark, tilting her head as if to say 'Oh really?'...her eyes fall on the sword beside him, then into his own once more...clearly awaiting an explaination.

He sits up, leaning back on one arm. Yanking his katana loose with the other and resting the end on the floor and its' hilt on his knee. He answers her unspoken question, "They had to answer some questions about the colony.....and I couldn't leave au alone in an unguarded cabin." he grins kindly, "Besides....I had to work off my hangover."

The girl types furiously again on the ISD, then thrusts it angerly under his nose, the green letters screaming out accusingly, "Au call killing me protection? Au'rh na better than the Tal'Shiar at the colony who cut my throat!" Her eyes shine with an eerie red fire for just an instant as the male reads the accusation before him.

He glances up at her, "Au'rh still alive....and all that was intact is still intact. If I could have brought myself to it, I would have. But au have done na-thing to deserve any of what's happened....and so I did no more to au. But au may kill me for the attempt, if au wish.....I leave myself open." He lets his katana slip out of his hand and onto the floor, "Afterward, au should thrust yourself upon my katana....as the only protection I can offer against the beast that reflects in the flames of ninte eyes."

Llunih doesn't bother to type her response this time. The fire-glow returns with a brighter intensity within her eyes, as her lips soundlessly form the words angrily around the small fangs within her mouth, "The only thing that is na intact this day...is my faith in au to protect those who would do au na harm....and perhaps ninte honor!" She angrily picks up his katana and grins, revealing the fangs more fully, "The beast that au seem to think I am risked it's life last night to protect au against the creatures out there, while au lay in a drunken slumber!" she throws his katana across the room, "That beast has more honor than the Tal'Shiar that did this to us!

Vyynd stands slowly, regaining his footing, "Then perhaps au need no such cure." He whispers quietly to the girl, before passively pacing acrossed the room in an odd weaving manner.

Llunih tilts her head curiously, the fire within her eyes dying to a low ember of it's formal fierceness. She pads across the room after him in her bare feet, taking his arm to help steady him.

"Perhaps....then.....now," the boy says quietly to his helper, "Au would accept my apologies for any thoughts I've had.....in the past...... passed and gone.......about what au have become......for au are better then anything I've been or wished to become...."

Confused, the girl offers a faint smile...a little unsure of what's really going through his mind, as she helps him into a chair.

"And, now.....my honor is no longer strict to the code that such ruthless people hold dear.....I've my own form of honor.......perhaps why I was sent on such a mission at all.....whether because of my stray thoughts, differing honor......or to make me aware of it.....is left untold....."

Llunih casts her eyes downward then back to his once more. She kneels beside the boy, shaking her head, worried that he'll do something against himself. Her lips form the words over her normal-looking teeth, "What do au mean?"

The boy relaxes a bit in the chair. Leaning forward, he rests his elbows on his lap and grasps his head firmly, "I mean......that I hope I don't lose my goals, or my position.....because of what's happened..... but come passion or position....... I would have to choose passion foremost.....and now.....I need rest...." Without further warning, he falls unconscious, his head drifting slowly to Llunih's shoulder.

Llunih shakes her head and sighs softly, not having a clear idea what the boy had been rambling on about, and moves his head to rest against the back of the chair. She stands motionless for a moment, watching him sleep, before she gently reaches out to touch his hair for a moment; feeling pity for the boy who apparently suffered greater than she did herself.
