SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Twenty-Eight:
Questioning the Crew
[240103.14 Crew Encampment]

Tacrun tr'Honrok is rooting through his set of books that are stacked along side the entrance to the tent, "Where in the arrienye is it at?" A calm, light breeze flaps the entrance to Tacrun's tent briefly, followed by the voice of the Daise'Dehno, "Jolan'tru....tr'Honrok" Tacrun looks up to see Vyynd sitting in the historian's chair, feet propped on the desk, spinning a slight bit. The engineer jumps in surprise, "AAAH! When'd au get in here?"

Vyynd observes the rihan's movement carefully, and speaks in fragmented, edgy sentences, "briefly....it's na to worry.....missing something?"

Tacrun scratches his head, "yea, I lost a very important book I need for my research. You haven't seen it have you?" Resuming his search for the book amongst the large pile inside his tent.

"Na....though I believe a crew member may have taken it....as someone was in my tent earlier....wasn't au, was it?" Vyynd raises his usual, paranoid, brow.

"Na, not at all. I haven't been anywhere near ninte tent." Raises his hands up a bit to seem inoffensive.

Vyynd glared at the boy briefly, "ie....good....."

tr'Honrok then tries to find reasoning in the agent's thoughts, "Why? Au missing something too?"

tr'Khaine kicks his feet off the desk and stands, pacing around the desk as he answers a bit hesitantly, ".....ie.....so.....have au seen ninte office of late?" He begins scrounging through the boys tent innocently, waiting for his response.

"na... I haven't been in since the..." He takes a moment to swallow, "murder."

"Good....I'm sure au knew of the quarantine as well......so, normally there would be something quite suspicious about a murder occurring in *ninte* office with no suspects...." Vyynd pauses, walking around the tent for a moment, "au would normally be the top of the list....." He continues to peruse the historian's literature.

Tacrun gulps again, "What do au mean by "normally"" He makes a quoting motion in the air with his fingers.

Vyynd looks over at the Rihan, "well, since the ship was vacated, and au weren't currently *stationed* in the office.....then there is no real reason to consider au to be there any more then other crew members who might have access to engineering...which is anyone....." The Tal'Shiar agent takes notice of a few notes in a history book of the federation, then looks back at the silent tr'Honrok again, "so, naturally....it seems fit to see what au know......" Vyynd begins to divert his mental energy toward perusing the boy's mind, instead.

Tacrun breathes a sigh of relief, only to hear the Security Official speak, harshly, "unless....." tr'Khaine opens yet another book, while moving another from atop it, "....unless I have other reason to suspect au?" He smiles indirectly at Tacrun, then gets back to looking through some not too personal things in the boy's tent.

"uuh...do au have other reasons to suspect me?" the historian questions, nervously.

Vyynd finally turns to look the boy over, "I was asking au....." He withdraws his prodding hands from the farien's mind and relaxes a bit more.

"oh... na, au shouldn't have any other reasons." The historian tries to smile a confident smile, helped by the Officers response.

"good....." As he returns a fully confident smile, "well.....someone is still on the loose, keep your senses sharp....and be wary....."

"oh I will..." Tacrun shudders a bit as Vyynd speaks.

"ie, good...." Followed by a breeze pushing one flap from the officer's tent entrance in.

After the boy distracts his own paranoia with the door, looking back he finds himself alone once more, then makes sure he is totally alone. Sighing and returning to the search for his book, about tribbles ruling the universe, through the stacks of other books.

[Slightly Later]

Emni had been in medlab, studying the substance found in the throat of the choking villager for a good remainder of the evening. Now, still prodding away at dislodged throat-goo in medbay, analyzing, work work work, she mumbles, "this doesn't look like....hrmmm...the consistency and makeup are wrong, somehow..." She pokes a few keys, poke poke, continuing her analysis. Her work is interrupted by the doors to medlab 'hiss'ing open.

Emni looks up at the sound, seeing the corridor, empty and half lit.

Shortly afterward, Vyynd swiftly glides into the room upon light feet, his cape trailing a bit behind him, "Jolan'tru t'Meihan....."

Emni gasps with the release of tension at being caught off guard, "oh..it's only you...thank goodness" Vyynd bows in midst of his stride, walking up and sitting at a chair a slight bit off from the med assistant, just as she asks, "how is everything?"

tr'Khaine gives Emni a friendly, yet odd look, then shakes his head laughing, "never trust so easily....." He stops laughing and his face grows straight, "don't ask.....au haven't seen t'Bahyk lately, have au?"

He looks rather perplexed at her, until she replies, "not lately, I don't think..." Scratching her head, "why do you ask?"

"fvadt....." Vyynd rubs his brow, leaning back with one leg crossed. t'Meihan leans forward on her desk and looks even more confused. The Daise'Dehno speaks, despite his hand being over his face, "because I have na seen her either.....nor io of my agents.....greatly concerning....."

Emni furrows her brow upon listening to the happenings, "inDEED...what do you suspect..."

"everything...." He replies coldly, then shakes with faint laughter, "so.....au know anything about the occurrences of late?"

"I've only heard snippets...been so busy with these villagers, and now I'm analyzing this substance that came out of a man who was choking, and ..." She pauses, "the murders, right?" Putting her head in her hands, covering her face in grief, she nearly cries, "awful, just awful..." Recomposing herself a bit she asks, "what's being done about this?"

Vyynd leans forward a bit, feeling a mental recourse of the girl's sincere sadness, "everything we can do.....trust me...."

Emni's face brightens, "that's good to know..." She sighs, "I just want this madness to stop. We have enough problems trying to keep everyone healthy and find a way home as it is...Pausing once more, she continues, "people don't need to die like this"

Nodding his head, tr'Khaine begins to stand, "ie, well.....I should return to my investigation....and let au return to ninte research....." He stands all the way up, accidentally letting Emni catch a glimpse of the arsenal beneath his trench coat, nods, then proceeds to exit as swiftly as he entered.

Snapping back to attention, Emni blinks, wondering if she really saw all that weaponry beneath the coat, but then shakes her head, figuring she must be overtired and imagining things. Nevertheless she files the image away for safekeeping, rubbing her eyes, she goes back to analyzing her specimen, looking up once more, just to make sure the doors stay closed.
