SRR Morrahe`VnuChapter One Hundred - Seven:
Making Up Again
[Computer Core Room]

"Look...if it's all the same to au..." Rylan says from within the wiring of the console in the computer core room, "I'd just prefer to be the ship's most eligible bachelor for right now." His hand appears and waves over to the box of tools laying beside him, "Hand me the recalibrator please....."

Without thinking about it, t`Bahyk places the object in his waiting palm and continues, "Well...I am sorry about what happened. I didn't realize that au and ... her.... were so involved. I hope au`rh na angry..."

"Right now...all I care about is getting this ship back up and running, and getting us back home!" he angrily declared, "Unless au have some insight into how we go about doing all that, I *highly* suggest au leave me alo...." a loud 'sizzle-pop!' was heard, followed by the glow of a few sparks that lit up the opening in the console Ry was emerged in, "OW!!! Fvadt it all to Areinnye!!" the recalibrator found itself sailing out of the open console to collide with a loud 'bump!' against the computer core doors....just before they opened and Katara walked in.

Seeing the tool lying on the floor near the entrance way, Katara picked it up and looked around for any sign of Rylan. Spotting t`Bahyk crouching down near a console next to another who was working within it, the tool in Katara's hand was suddenly positioned in an ominous grip as she headed over. Handing yet another recalibrator into Ry's waiting palm, t`Bahyk looked over to the foot of the new arrival as it tapped itself impatiently against the floor. Looking up from the tapping foot to see the owner of it cross her arms angrily over her chest and raise an impatient brow, t`Bahyk shrugged and stood up once more. Storming past the jealous barmaid, being sure to bump into her as she passed by, t`Bahyk went back to completing the duties she had been neglecting.

"...cheap susse`thrai..." Katara sneered quietly at the other girl, then sat down on the floor where t`Bahyk had occupied a moment before.

Finished with the recalibrator, Rylan's hand once more came out of the opening, and dropped the tool he had been using, then mumbled "Splicer...."

Looking from the toolbox to his waiting palm, Katara shrugged and placed the recalibrator she had picked up into his hand. Ry's hand disappeared and all was quiet for a second before his weary voice intoned, "I *just* had this io...I want the Splicer!!!!" the poor utility tool found itself sailing out of the opening again to hit the doors as his angry hand waved at the tool box, "The Splicer...SPLICER!!!"

"Well, if au told me what a splicer looked like....I could give it to au..."

"Oh, come on! Enough with these stupid gam....." he paused, then pushed himself out of the console to look up at Katara's smiling face. "Thought au weren't going to talk to me." he finished quietly.

Katara nods, then offered, "Well...I thought about what au said. And au were right. I didn't trust au." she shrugs, "But can au blame me, Rylan? I mean, it's na like au tell me about what au`rh thinking most times. I have na idea where I stand with au. One minute I think we're fine... and the next I wonder if au`rh seeing some-io else." She sighed in frustration as Rylan rolled his eyes, then pushed himself back into the open console again. "See! That's just what I mean!" she grabbed a hold of his jacket and pulled him back to look at his face again, "Au`rh trying to shut me out! Don't I matter to au at all? Why won't au talk to me?!"

"I talk to au plenty of times." he shrugged in response.

"Na about important things." she shook her head, "Au keep it all bottled up inside. And when it tries to surface, you drowned it out with Rhennish..."

He suddenly gained his feet at that, and glared angrily down at her. "Au have plenty enough of ninte own problems! Au`rh insecure.... uneducated....jealous.....untrusting... and manipulative as Areinnye!" He stopped at the hurt expression on her face, then sighing he crouched down, and lifted her chin gently until her eyes met his own once more. "And I wouldn't change a thing about au. I accept au for who au are. I love au for it." he shook his head, his expression one of a lost little boy, "Why can't au do the same for me?"

"Rylan...ninte drinking...."

"I had io Rhennish after the crash." he shrugged. "How many did the others have? Three? Four?" he sighed and sat down on the floor, and paused a moment to look around the room, before quietly continuing "Au made a judgement call on me because of something that D`Tarik said. He's na exactly the best judge of people and their reasons for doing what they do, Katara. Elements know, DT's got his own problems! He's na exactly all there..." he tapped a finger against his forehead, "...in case au didn't know! So I have a drink once in awhile. So does every io else on this ship!" he waved a hand to the room in general, "Who the Areinnye am I hurting?" He leaned back against the computer console and said the answer at the same time that she did:

"Ninte-self."

He nodded. "That's something else DT would've said, too." Standing up from the floor, he replaced the panel to the computer console then offered her a hand up. "Katara...." he began, looking into the blue of her eyes, "Right now....with everything else that's going on....I don't think this is the time to discuss this. But when we get back to where we're supposed to be... then I'll tell au want au want to know. I'll answer any question au have. *Au*...na io else. Just au." he rose a brow slightly at her surprised expression, "Fair enough?"

"Ie...that's fair." she smiled and hugged him. "Just talk to me, Rylan. That's all I wanted."

Hugging her back, he answered, "And all I want is for au to quit trying to change me into something that I'm na." he paused to feel her pull away from him slightly to look at his face. "I'm na perfect, Katara...I'm far from it. But au have to accept me for who I am and trust me to know what's right for me. That's all I ask." he shrugged, "That's all I want."
