| Photo by Kevin Stitzinger Crossing rivers without bridges can be a difficult task, especially when the water is below 40 degrees in the early spring. In my Whitewater Boating class, we used a similar technique as the RMT 115 class is using above to cross such a stream. Forming a triangular shape for stability and balance, we used each other for support as we inched across the ankle numbing waters. Needless to say, it took several hours for me to regain feeling in all my toes, but the teamwork and communication skills we learned were well worth the temporary discomfort. |
