Going to college in West Virginia, the land of outdoor adventure opportunity, has opened the doors of my mind to the exploration of the natural world. The Wilderness Adventure Club, established by D&E students, endeavors to get students involved in adventurous outdoor recreation pursuits, enticing them to expand their understanding of what nature has to offer. The area surrounding Davis & Elkins College is filled with opportunity for outdoor adventures! Perhaps appealing to more to the non-adrenaline junkie, the annual horse back riding trip to Seneca Rocks takes place during the late fall or spring semesters - sometimes both depending on the amount of student interest each year. Here, students such as Patrick Dunnagan (above), have the chance to get outside and experience nature from atop beautiful steeds, overlooking the Seneca Rocks Valley.
