Walking on water � man has always dreamed of such an accomplishment. Here, it appears that Steve has finally mastered this feat as he practices his karate kid �Crane� pose on the glassy surface of the Colorado River. Accomplishments such as these are unparalleled, and can only be found outside of oneself � in the heart of the natural world as we experienced on our Outdoor Leadership class trip to the Colorado River of Nevada and Arizona. However, let�s reassess this �accomplishment� with some inside info.
What you can�t see in this photo are�
A) The rocks just beneath the waters surface that Steve is standing on
B) Steve�s soaking wet shoes and pants from slipping off the rocks several times and falling into the Colorado
C) Me just off to the left laughing in our canoe, and then coming to Steve�s rescue
So let�s reassess this accomplishment: what did Steve really gain from this experience? Some soaking wet pants, a good laugh, and a great picture to send home.
