Like the old joke about Bob Hope and "..liking a Big Show!" -- the U.S. Army was preparing for a very big show in Thailand, one that would include an entire infantry division (if need be) from Hawaii, The 25th Infantry "Tropic Lighting!"

The staging area was a little known plateau area in central Thailand named "Korat."

Korat was my home during the Tet Offensive of 1968 and for the next 12 months.

I was the Company Clerk for the 44th Headquarters in Camp #44.

Yeah, I did stuff like depicted in this background picture!

Somebody had to do it, might as well be me!

What follows is a little history on this logistics support "war" and who fought it so that our "team" could win!   That's right - don't listen to all that bull shit about we lost because we didn't. The politicians lost, but our soldiers fought on with tremendous valor.   Got that straight - ready for more?!

Okay, like most other things on the Internet, this web site is under "virtual" construction -- meaning, come back later for more, updates ...

I take great pride in my contributions to the war effort in Vietnam and indirectly, in Laos, now -- so, please "stay tuned" and read on ! SP/5 Francis Picchione, Company Clerk
