Alton watches the young man before him, eyes studying him carefully. Casually he replies 'Some might say such things. And when they ask, I confirm their thoughts." Narrowing his eyes slightly "You appear to be from the north as well, perhaps." Altons tones are cool and calm.
Taurin inclines his head twice in brief nods to Selina's words, smiling faintly pleased. He gazes openly across towards Tym and Alton then, his lips pursing faintly before his attention refocusses on Selina. "So Lina, what do you do?" His lips quirk up further into a full blown smile, and he adds, "Or are you some kinda noble that does nothing worth telling anybody about?"
Samuel strolls into the plaza from the south. His black coat is buttoned all the way up, even in this unseasonable heat. A young woman walks by his left side, her arm in his. Most of his attention is on her with little spared for his surroundings.
Sereina holds onto Samuel's hand loosely, a faint smile playing across her features as she glances over at her husband. She glances around and sees a few faces that she recognizes, but no one that she had ever talked to. 'Samuel, know any of them?' she asks quietly, nodding to the other men dressed as he is.
Adjusting the sword at his side, Tym sits himself next to Alton, his gaze peering over the crowd, and specifically Selina and Taurin. "I was raised in Tar Valon...a bit north of here." he sniffs rather loudly, rubbing a gloved hand across his nose, "But I was born not far outside Fal Moran." He turns his head toward Alton again, "And you are from where?" his lips grow together tightly.
Selina tsks, light click as her tongue hits to the roof of her mouth. Moving about the armrest of the bench, seat taken on the unoccupied end with a deep hearful sigh and a flounce of silk skirts," Me? A noble? Do I look like a noble to you?" incredulous tone, Taurin shot a long look from under half lowered lashes."Now do tell me I don't look like noble, unless that is, its a noble you admire then I'll gladly take on there persona for the hour." quite babble, shifting to keep her distance from Tym since he seemed to have the same idea as her. ;)
Alton watches the quirky movements of Tym with an unblinking gaze. He remains calm and relaxed when most would up and run from an ashaman. "I was born in Fal Dara, where I lived for 16 years." Gaze moves over the square and watches the third ashaman with a bit of interest before returning his gaze to Tym.
Taurin chuckles softly, rolling his eyes faintly, "No no... you just seem well dressed and well put-up, not as though you struggle for a crust of bread like a lot of the poor folk in this city at the moment." He shrugs faintly, his eyes remaining steadily fixed on the pretty woman on the bench near him.
Tym reaches to the ground again from his seat, and picks up another leaf. His head slowly turns to Alton, as he raises the leaf to his face and sniffs it deeply and then gingerly places it in his open mouth, chewing on it slowly. "What brings you this far south," he says between chews, and turns his gaze back to Selina and Taurin before an answer is given.
Samuel turns his head sharply in the direction Sereina nodded, the sudden movement causing his braids to whip about and the bells on the ends to jingle softly. He lets out a soft sigh and nods in a resigned way before turning back to her and saying,'I've seen them about. Had not heard of the promotion yet, though.' He points towards a vendor's cart near the eastern edge of the plaza and says,'I don't feel quite up to saluting and scraping just yet. I think I smell some pastries from that direction, though.' He punctuates the statement with a slight tug on Sereina's arm.
Alton blinks once, turning his head towards the oval. For a moment he seems to wear an expresion that says 'My God I got stuck with a crazy one' before his face is schooled once again. "I worked as a merchant guard for my fathers merchant traines for a few years, then decided to do some traveling on my own and learn some sword play while i was at it."
Selina quirks one brow at Tym's actions, low hmm then she gladly offers this advice,"Mint tastes good also." to the affected man. Ankles cross, Samuel and Seriana of sudden sharp intrest,"Who would they be Taurin, that young lady and her man, I do believe they look like a couple. Do tell me that you know them, well I figure you know one at least, but the other. One can never tell." bright darting green eyes aflame with curiousty.
Sereina laughs softly and tugs back on Sam's arm. 'Mmm, that sounds pretty good right now that you mention it.' she murmurs, kissing his shoulder. 'Who would you be "saluting and scraping" to anyway, loves?'
Tym nods, "I like traveling...traveling is nice...so are merchants...some...not all..." he shakes his head, "no not all." His gaze goes of into the distance for a moment but is brought back by Selina's words, "Do you have any? No? Do you?" he turns to Alton, not allowing anyone to get a word in, "I thought not," he answer himself, reaching to the ground for another leaf, "Until I find a mint I can hunt and cook, I have no choice but to have these," He waves the leaf in the air, and drops it again, shaking his head as if what he was saying was the plainest thing in the world.
Taurin blinks at Selina's words, his gaze sliding across to Tym, not having seen him eat the leaf and so he just shrugs slightly, refocussing his attention back on her. Blinking yet again, owlishly, he focusses his attention on Samuel and Sereina as Selina then points their way, shrugging slightly, "A Soldier.... ummm.. Quinlen I think."
Alton plays along, for now, seeming slightly amuzed. 'If it is dry, try dipping it in the water. Will help it go down easier i think"
Tym stands up, placing both hands on his hips, and nods to Alton, "Perhaps you're right...water..." He blinks and gives his head a slight shake as if coming to from a comma, and again he sits himself, "I...um...Where...have you been to in your travels?"
Selina bites her lower lip, pulling it within as she worries it a couple of times."Water or Ale, for leafs can be a trifle dry this time of year." odd look to Tym then back to Taurin, and the two she had asked about,"Not the gentlman, but I wanted to know the woman that is with him." soft laugh, worry to lip halted as one hand lifts to pat towards Taurin's shoulder with her left hand.
Samuel sighs as the Dedicated looks his way. He mutters softly to Sereina,'Too late. We've been spotted. Hopefully, they won't need me for anything.' Then he turns his full attention in that direction and draws himself up to his full height, pressing his fist against his chest. He calls out,'Good eve'n, Dedicated.' Then he waits, apparently patiently, to be acknowledged.
Alton looks over at Samuel. Then back to Tym "I have been around Andor, and some up north and some down south into Ebon Dour."
Sereina pulls to a halt only after Samuel and glances up at him, shaking her head. She looks over at the dedicated and chuckles. 'Sam..I don't think he'll bother with you, he's got a friend..'
Taurin frowns at Selina's first words, before shrugging at her second, "I do not know hardly any of the Asha'man wives, Lina, sorry." Looking back Samuel's way as he salutes, and addresses him. Looking a bit abashed at the attention, unnaccustomed to others saluting him, he jumps up and returns the salute, "Hullo Soldier," he replies evenly, a slightly self conscious smile slipping across his face.
Samuel lowers his right hand from his chest as he is acknowledged, left absently reaching for Sereina's again. He turns and starts edging towards the pastry cart as he raises his voice to carry over the intervening distance,'If you have no need of me, Dedicated, the wife was getting cabin fever.'
Tym shakes his head at Selina, "Ale dulls the nerves...nerves must be at their upmost...always..." He shakes his head at Samuel's salute, snorting rather loudly, then turns back to Alton, "And where do you believe your travels will take you next?"
Selina slips upwards, bench abandoned in favor for standing at Taurin's side, bright green eyes more interested in Sereina at the moment."Good day to you both," much to cheerful, skirts flipped with her right hand, that left that had at one time reached for Taurin's shoulder hanging down by her side."Taurin here let me know your friends name, but, didnt thinkg of yours." all that to Sereina, full lips curved into a smile.
Sereina turns to the two people and looks a bit uncertainly at the friendliness of the woman, 'Umm..hello,' she says softly, holding tightly onto Samuel's hand as they walk towards the cart.
Alton nods in agreement with Tym, funny how that works. 'I am not sure where I will go next. Perhaps back home for a time. It has been 4-5 years since I was last there. Have you been back there recently?" Gaze seems to watch all that is before him, while keeping some attention on Tym as well.
Taurin waves to Samuel, "Of course man," nodding and smiling encouragingly. He blinks as Selina rises at his side, his attention turning to take her in thoughtfully, before looking back at Sereina for a moment, then to Samuel inquiringly.
Samuel leans in the direction of the cart, almost as if being pulled by his nose, then sighs loudly and turns back towards Selina. He makes a slight, jingling bow in her direction and says,'Light Illumine you, good woman. I am Samuel Quinlen and this,' he turns and indicates the woman at his side,'is my lovely wife, Sereina.'
"His wife, somehow I never truly thought of," Selina words trip out before she really thinks, sudden narrow look to Taurin,"You wouldn't happen to be married and just forgetting to let me know would you," answering her own words before the others are hardly out of her mouth,' No, you wouldn't do that," nose twitches as the food is scented, warm smile offered back to Samuel and Sereina,"and I'm Lina, its nice to meet your acquantice. You know, I'm a bit hungry," letting the sentance hang.
Tym chuckles loudly, "I barely remember home...I have not seen it in 16 years...my mother and sisters died there, I haven't returned since." He shifts his collar, straitening it and dusting it, "And I certainly can't leave for home now..." he sighs deeply, "I'd like to see Ebou Dar, I hear the ocean is a beautiful sight..." He places a hand on his coat, and raises himself, peering off again. He turns to the man next to where he was seated, "I must take my leave...my name is Tym Entrid..." he holds out his hand, "Perhaps I will run in to you again...faces from the north are few and far bewteen."
Sereina drops a small curtsey to the woman and the dedicated. 'It's nice to meet you, Lina,' she says, squeezing Samuel's hand. 'We were about to get some pastries...'
Alton takes Tym's hand in his own, offering a firm handshake. "Perhaps we will meet again...perhaps"
Taurin blinks fogishly, looking askance at Selina for a moment and shaking his head hurriedly before looking back to Samuel and Sereina, "I'm not sure I understand any of this," he sighs miserably.
Tym nods to the man, and turns, forgeting to salute the Dedicated completely, or maybe not doing it on purpose, he strides out to the west quickly.
Alton watches the funny ashaman walk away, turning his gaze back to the people before him.
Selina chuckles softly, poor Taurin no doubt over welmed by his very own words."Taurin, if you would so kind to escort me across the plaza to the vendor with those delicious smelling pastries that, Sereina and her husband were headed towards." carefully to not appear to amused by Taurin, careful balance of not appearing to be -really- laughing at his discomfture.
Adrin walks in from the east, making no sound with his soft boots, though he is still quite visible, due to the fact that he's much taller than most other people and his cadin'sor is certainly not what the people of Caemlyn are wearing. Holding his three short spears in one hand and a small shield in the other, he nears the Oval Plaza.
Samuel flashes a quick grin at Taurin and says,'I'm married and I still don't understand them.' His grin falters for a brief moment when Selina invites herself along, but quickly recovers.
Taurin nods and gestures towards Selina to take her arm, still looking confused by the entire situation. Catching Samuel's comment he shakes his head slightly, smiling back faintly ruefully.
Sereina tugs on Samuel's hand. 'Come along, dear,' she says, bumping her hip into Samuel's at his comment. 'You should understand them more than most, my dear.' She turns to Lina and shakes off her bashfulness. 'So, umm..Lina, are you one of the wives as well?'
Alton shakes his head breifly, gaze moving over Selina and Taurin. Gaze catching Adrin as he enters, eyes narrowing slightly.
Selina tucks her hand to Taurin, other held at a loose tumble by her side," Not married, so I would say that precludes being a wife.' low hum of some song under her breath,"No, I'm simply visiting Caemlyn for a bit, shopping. I think, a few new dresses would do well to brighten a person's day." her head canted to the side, well aware of Alton's gaze uon her.
As Adrin enters the oval, glances quickly at the people there, as if measuring them, but without really making eye contact. You can't tell if he noticed Alton's little grimace. He walks over to a wall and leans against it, inspecting his spear for a short while before returning to glancing at people. His eyes draws to the fountain and the water in it sometimes, but he always returns to his glancing after a short while.
Samuel begins to move towards the cart again at Sereina's urgings, his hand tightening around hers. He shrugs his shoulders at Taurin and shakes his head slightly before glancing around the plaza. As his gaze settles on the savage, his mouth sets in a hard line. His attention remains focused on the man as he responds distractedly to Selina's comment,'Depends on how much the dresses cost, I would say.'
Taurin starts to lead Selina towards the cart, holding her hand attentively as he leads her across the cobbles. His eyes find the savage at almost the same point Samuel's do, and he openly bares his teeth at the man in a grimace. "Bloody savages," he curses under his breathe, his hand tightening unknowingly about Selina's.
Sereina looks crossways at Samuel, letting out a chortle as she shakes her head. 'Well, just getting away from the farm is working for me, actually,' she says, glancing over in the direction Sam looks and wrinkles her brow in curiosity.
Alton looks from Taurin to the Aiel, seeming to hold a bit more respect for the man then either of the two Ashamen do. Eyes watch Selina carefully, well at least the backside as she moves with Taurin over to the cart. One of his hands, which he had been leaning back on, slips and falls into the water, but he seems to catch himself before falling back into the fountain.
Selina gives her held hand a startled look, unless its a bone crushing sqeeze she doesn't say much though about it. In fact her hand squeezes back, as if to remind him that there were another person's fingers there,"I take it, that you, neither of you, like the Aiel much at all." curious herself,"yet do not the Aiel, prove of some help to," her chin indicates the castle, and the place where Rand lives. The Aiel studied a bit without to much comment,"You don't get out that much I take it Sereina, to bad." from the Aiel to the Wife grass green eyes rove, Alton
The Aiel studied a bit without to much comment,"You don't get out that much I take it Sereina, to bad." from the Aiel to the Wife grass green eyes rove, Alton's antics helping the smile that curves full lips.
Adrin suddenly stares right at Samuel, as if he noticed his hard look. Grinning slightly, he grasps his spears a bit harder, though not noticable for anyone that hasn't ver good eyes. His entire character seems to create the atmosphere that this man will not strike first, but if someone else does, he won't be sad. He switches position a bit, and now he seems to be more tense.
Sereina shakes her head. 'I was stuck at the mother's house for a while before I er....met, Sam.' she says lamely, looking at the taller man with interest. 'What in the world is he wearing?' she asks, blushing at her innocense. 'Nevermind, I must sound like a featherhead..'
Alton pulls his hand from the cold water and shakes it off. His shirt drenched nearly to the shoulder. He appears to be grumbling to himself as he shakes his arm a bit in the dry heat. Altons trained gaze catches the slight changes in Adrin's stature and readiness to fight. Eyes moving back to Selina, eyes filled with might be considered concern as he looks between the ashamen and selina.
Taurin growls, "Savages, nothing but savages all of 'em." He spits, finally feeling Selina's hand in his and looking faintly apologetic but still hate-filled. Growling under his breath, he adds, "I don't know why the Lord Dragon leaves them be but its the only reason I don't kill everyone I see."
Samuel shakes his head slightly and mutters,'They serve the Lord Dragon. Or some of them do. Problem is that all savages look pretty much alike.' He shrugs slightly and continues towards the cart, grip tightening unconsciously on Sereina's hand.
Adrin glances at Alton for a short moment, his eyes aren't hard, but they are tense. Waiting and watching the man. His position has not changed, and he still looks ready to fight, but this time he seems more like he might be fighting a lion instead of a mouse. Or, in aiel perspective, a group of lions. He's still glancing at Samuel sometimes.
Sereina reaches over to pinch Samuel hard on the back of his hand. 'Samuel Quinlen, if you squeeze my hand one more time I'm going to take both of your braids into my hand and milk you like a cow.' she says calmly, though her eyes are a bit pained.
Selina shakes her head once more, to SEreina,"He is a Aiel, and there is some badblood. Bad memories, that some have of them." trying for a diplomatic way of saying it, actually quite pleased in how the words emerge. Once more to Taurin,"They are alies now, no matter what has happened in the past. Or so all that I have seen and read does say," shocked expression, then a open delighted laugh at Sereina's actions."that would tend to hurt I would think Sereina," Alton and Adrin give anothe cursory loo, only lingering on alton a minute longer then the other.
Samuel slowly relaxes his hand on Sereina's. He mutters softly,'Sorry.' But he does not look at her. His gaze remains steady on the Aielman. As he draws near the cart, he finally wrenches his eyes from Adrin and looks to the vendor briefly, then to Sereina,'What would you like? Take two or three. Whatever it takes to keep you from jerking on my braids.'
Alton rises slowly, sheathing the dagger in his right hand in its sheath at his right hip. Quick glance spared to Adrin followed by an almost friendly nod of his head, with a rolling of his eyes towards Taurin and Samuel. Slow casual strides carry Alton along, moving towars the group, but not intentially it seems, just towards the exit at that end of the oval.
Taurin continues to watch Adrin like the man like suddenly start throwing spears or something, pacing like a bear with a sore tooth at Selina's side towards the pie cart.
Adrin gets a look of surprise on his face, slight for a wetlander, strong for an aiel. He moves just slightly, so he can see exactly what Alton's doing, and if he exits, exactly where.
Sereina heaves a sigh of relieft and flexes her hand within Samuel's. 'Well, he was giving me a bit of a hurt as well.' she says with a chuckle. Focusing her attention on the cart, she points to a cherry and a lemon tart for the man to wrap up, glancing over at Samuel. 'What do you want?' she asks, before glancing at Lina. 'Umm..I think this is the last time I go out in public with this man.'
Selina tugs at her held hand, attempt to loosen Taurin's tight hold a bit more so the fingers don't loose sensation," I've heard that fingers that start to turn numb and tingle, after being crushed, are often amputated." nudge at the Dedicated's ribs,"2 or 3 pastries, you wouldnt happen to be with child would you Sereina?" closing with the two.
Taurin blushes faintly at Selina's words, loosening his grip of the poor womans hand further. Coming to a halt just behind Samuel and Sereina, standing easily beside Selina, he peruses the cart thoughtfully, his eyes taking in all the tasty pastries.
Alton casual saunter takes him within a few feet of the group. He wears a slight snarl for the two ashamen, but if any of them look it is quickly gone. Walking past, Alton takes a glance towards Selina before moving off.
Samuel shrugs slightly then leans forward over the display of pastries, inhaling deeply. He fishes into his pocket with his left hand as he points at one of the pies with his right,'I think I will have that one.' As he finally pulls the silver mark from his purse, he turns slightly to give Sereina a hurt look, then hands the coin over to the vendor as he glances briefly towards the Aiel again.
Selina chuckles under her breath,"thats better." murmured low to Taurin,"Now you don't mean that, think of all the fun you would miss if you never left home for fear of embarresing things your man may do. Life is a adventure, and each breath a grace bestowed upon you." still wondering if the other be with child. To the cart with pastrys then beyond, to another cart just beyond Alton,'meat pies sound good alos."
Sereina's eyes widen at Lina's comment. 'Not that I know of...' she says slowly, looking over at Sam who apparently was trying to suck the cart up his nose. She pats his arm comfortingly as he looks at her and she smiles. 'I was playing, Sam..'
Taurin frowns abruptly, and looks sharply up towards the sky, at the sun halfway past its zenith. Looking back to Selina, he fishes a couple silver coins out of his pocket, and places them in her hand, folding her fingers over them with his other. "I'm sorry....but I just remembered an appointment I absolutely must keep." Blushing apologetically, he looks to Samuel and Sereina, nodding politely, "Good day to you both, see you at the farm sometime perhaps." Looking back at Selina, he leans forward and kisses the back of her hand softly, before spinning away.
Alton slowly exits the oval, his body being slowly drawn into the crowds of people. Only his top-know waving over the heads of the people, allows for a marker to follow.
The vendor wraps up the tarts and passes them to Sereina and then Samuel. He begins to make change, but Samuel waves him off. 'Keep it,' he says. He nods down at Sereina, his lips twitching slightly towards a smile. As Taurin speaks, he quickly transfers his tart to his left hand and salutes towards the man's back. When he turns back to Sereina, he points towards the fountain with his right hand and says,'That seems a cool enough spot to eat.'
Selina brings her hand up, holding it to the front of her chest as she looks quite bemused after Taurin," Another day Taurin, perhap's we will shop all those stores I told you of." Alton known to be leaving, but not much she can do bout it.
Alton seems to stop after passing the cart with meat piles, walking back over to the cart to inspect the vendors goods.
Sereina nods and glances over at the man's back, looking more than a bit confused as she holds onto the remaining tarts. 'Yeah, water is good....as long as you don't throw it.' she laughs and rests her cheek against Samuel's shoulder, peeking at the other woman to see what she would do.
Selina stares at the coins in her palm, hey are cupped to her chest once more, Sam and Seri eyed," Not into sweets myself, but I think.." couple steps into the crowd, the meat pie seller drawing the yound woman like honey does flys.
Adrin watches Alton for a moment, as if deciding something. Checking the crowd again, he shrugs slightly, seemingly to himself and dissappears into the shadows in the alley closest to him, only to reappear at a roof nearby, suited so that he can see the oval, but no one can see him.
Alton looks over the pies and picks out a small fresh one. Reaching into his purse he digs around for some money, but seems to come up short. He starts to try and haggle with the vender, who is considerably shorter and smaller then Alton.
From the South Gate Road, Brutham, short-cut hair waving in the breeze, comes walking, shooting hard-eyed glances around the Oval as he scans the crowd. Stonefaced he scratch his chin, and the beginning of a beard, as he touch his scabbard solemnly and walks over to the fountain, to fill the canteen he produce from the leather backpack on his back.
Samuel arches an eyebrow at the curious young woman, then shakes his head. He smiles down at Sereina for a moment, then begins to lead her towards the fountain. He switches his tart back to his right hand, then absently reaches for Sereina's hand with his left.
Selina flips a silver coin, catchin then offering to the merchant,"I need one of those also," mouthwatering scent strong, hungry scan of the hawker's table contents,"A fesh one though." quite command, coin promise ofpayment.
Sereina squeezes Samuel's hand gently and walks towards the fountain, carefully sitting at the edge and unwrapping the pastries in her lap. She beams a smile up at him and takes a bite of the cherry tart, looking up at the newcomer as he passes on by. 'Mmmm, very good....So where are we off to afterwards?'
Alton looks up and offers Selina a smile. Then glares back at the little merchant. 'I am a copper short, surely I have given you enough" The man looks up at Alton defiently then turns a smle to Selina "She looks like she can pay the full price" He snatches the fresh one from Alton and hands it to Selina 'For M'lady." Alton glares hard at the man.
Brutham lets the cool, clear liquid flow into his canteen before he snaps the cap back in place and the canteen is placed back into the backpack. Turning around to rest with his lower back against a merchant's wagon, he takes out an apple from inside the backpack and takes a big bit, crunching noise as he starts chewing and juice flows from the corners of his mouth, down onto the scar on his chin. Steel gray eyes keeps scanning the Oval, no tension; but oh so powerful and present. The scar between his eyes seems to glow red, like a third eye.
Selina laughs softly,"give him his pastry back, I think you have enough with the one I am buying. Betteryet, make him a new one anew. You'll get your coin,' juggling the meat pastry, full head on stare at the merchant man.
The merchant looks from Selina to Alton, slight glare given to the man before he turns and starts to make a new one for Alton. Soft grumbles can be heard. Alton turns and thanks Selina 'that is kind M'lady but I do not wish to take your coin"
Samuel takes a bite of his tart, and chews slowly as he watches the activity of the plaza. After he swallows, he mutters softly to Sereina,'I have no particular plans. I thought I would let you decide. Still have not found even a rumor of a gleeman or we would be seeing a show.'
"Whats a copper, compared to a full belly. Besides," Selina smiles at Alton,"It not being given to you, its the hawker who ends up with the coin." amused slightly, turns to look about the plaza.
Brutham takes a last bite off the apple and then walks away towards the Golden Bowl Inn, seemingly in deep thought.
Sereina nods and nibbles again at the tart. 'Mmmm....well, perhaps we can stroll on to see the palace?' she asks. 'That is, if you're allowed to go there....'
Alton chuckles "Surely there is something I can do to thank M'lady." Alton turns back and receives his fresh meat pie from the man after a few moments. The merchant waits patiently for his money.
From the east, a young gleeman comes walking, silver flute played with the joy of a dance for the sun, as he dance though the crowd never letting his smile fade from his pure lips. Long golden hair waves behind him, as does his colorful cloak, when a soft breeze blows past him. Sky blue eyes reflects the sun; the delight of the day shining in his face, "Dance of the Golden Day" flowing from his flute.
Selina exchanges her coins for the last pie, motion to the side,"Just smile once in a while," devilish twinkle in her eye. Face much to sollemn though, forced to be so."but another day, for I must be on my way. A fitting to attend." sigh that is melodramtic as she starts to move out of the plaza.
Alton nods to the women and offers her a warm smile before departing his own way, this time disapearing and not returning.
Samuel glances up at the sound of the music, then shoots an odd look at Sereina. He mutters softly,'I should not be surprised by such things near the palace, I suppose.' He flashes a broad grin at her and says,'Much stranger things have happened to us. But no, I can only go to the palace if I have business there.'
Sereina pouts a little but brightens up at the sound of the music, glancing around. 'Well....so much for a tour then, but that's alright. Caemlyn is great just as it is.' she says distractedly, looking around for the sound.
Beginning to dance around, the crowd around Em starts making way, forming a circle, letting citizens and hawkers dance about in the open space as the flute is still played and smiles are still beamed at anyone that cares to watch. The song slows down and turns into "The Hayloft Sunshine Inn" as the people keep on dancing, and a couple of people are beginning to sing. "There is an inn, and old fine inn, in the west of the world it is. By the shores, of the sea, come there and you will get a kiss." The song goes on and on...
Samuel nudges Sereina slightly and then points in the direction of the gleeman. Very softly, he says,'As if we called him, it seems.'
Sereina looks over and catches her breath, tart held just inches from her mouth as she sits, almost in a trance while she listens, eyes large and round like a small child.
"And dancing all night, is so much fun, the best I've ever been. The girls are pretty, the ale is fine, at the Hayloft Sunshine Inn." The song comes to an end and a big applause from the crowd makes the Oval explode with lauther and cheers. The young gleeman bows to the crowd and makes his way over to the meat pie wagon, his hand digging deep into his pockets, flute disappearing, a few coins appearing. Flipping the coin, he comes to a stop by the meat pie merchant.
Samuel finishes his tart and rises to his feet, absently wiping his hands on his pants. Once they are clean, he offers his right to his wife to help her up. He says in a hushed tone to her,'I just realized something about the people we were talking with earlier. I need to report back. You want to come with me or stay here for the show?'
Sereina glances around at the gleeman and sighs. 'I'll come back,' she says, a small hint of disappointment in her voice. 'I have a feeling I'd get lost if I were left alone here.'
Em pays the merchant a few coppers, coin after coin appearing from his cloak, seemingly into his empty hand. The merchant hands him the meat pie and the young gleeman walks over to the fountain. Sitting down, he begins to play his flute once again. "Dance with Jak o' the Shadows" flowing about the plaza.
Samuel fishes a couple of copper coins out of his purse with his right hand and tosses them in the gleeman's direction, then grips his wife's hand and begins leading her towards the eastern exit of the plaza, muttering softly to her,'Not as if I had actually planned on walking the entire distance, myself.'
Copper coins noticed in mid-air, the young gleeman's hand is extended in mid-song and the coins collected with a safe motion; the coins disappearing into the cloak. With a smile and a sitting bow towards the couple, the young gleeman keeps playing the song, the tune bouncing from wall to wall, echoing throughout the nearby streets of Caemlyn.
Sereina glances back at the gleeman with an almost childish disappointment lighting her eyes as she follows Sam. 'You know what I meant,' she murmurs with a small chuckle.
Filarchi coughs loudly from the edge of the central square. A cough that develops into a full throated hack and he is forced to lean against one of the walls while pounding his chest. After a moment he looks back up and tosses his white cloak back over his shoulder while glaring around at those present.
Samuel pauses to glance back at the coughing man for a moment. A deep smirk etches itself upon his face and he turns once more to the east, leading his wife away. He mutters softly under his breath to her as he goes,'Tis just as well that I cannot Heal. I am not faced with any decisions that way.'
