Albanian Igly Tare scored twice and Dario Hubner added another for his 17th goal of the season to give Brescia their 10th league win and a spot in next season's Intertoto Cup. Paolo Poggi scored after nine minutes of play for bottom club Bari were already relegated. Brescia ended the season eighth, on 44 points, level with Atalanta. Both clubs were in Italy's second division last season.

An injury time goal by Brazilian Edmundo against his former club Fiorentina, was not enough as Napoli slipped into Italy's second division. Nicola Amoruso put Napoli in front with his 10th strike of the season in the 48th minute. Nuno Gomes equalised for Fiorentina seven minutes from time with his ninth goal of the season. Edmundo scored Napoli's winner five minutes into injury time. Napoli ended the season on 36 points, level with Vicenza, who along with Bari have all been relegated to Italy's second division.

Inter Milan 2 - Bologna 1

Bologna: Giacomo Cipriani 79'

Inter Milan ended their turbulent season in fifth, two points above arch-rivals AC Milan. Clarence Seedorf's goal in the 36th minute and Christian Vieri's 18th strike of the season in the 44th minute gave the Milanese club their win. Youngster Giacomo Cipriani scored in the 79th minute for Bologna. Inter, along with AC Milan, are assured of a UEFA Cup berth next season. Inter manager Marco Tardelli is expected to be replaced by Valencia manager Hector Cuper at the start of the new season.

Juventus 2 - Atalanta 1

Juventus won their 21st league match of the season but saw their hopes of catching league leaders AS Roma vanish as the Roman club won their home match against Parma to claim the Italian title. David Trezeguet scored his 14th goal of the season, connecting on a cross from Igor Tudor after five minutes. Alessio Tacchinardi made it 2-0 in the 64th minute with long range shot from 30 yards out. After a pitch invasion by Juventus fans, play resumed. Marco Nappi's goal in the 84th minute for Atalanta rounded out the scoring. Juventus ended the season in second on 73 points, two behind champions AS Roma and three above Lazio. Seldom used midfielder Gateano Vasari scored twice to ensure Lecce's stay in Italy's top flight next season. Hernan Crespo scored his league leading 26th goal of the season on a 45th minute penalty to put Lazio aahead. Vasari levelled the score one minute after the break with a well taken right foot blast from inside the box. Vasari then slotted home a parried shot from Lazio goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi in the 72nd minute. With the win Lecce end the season on 37 points, level with Reggina and Verona. Lecce remain in Serie A on goal difference while Reggina and Verona will have a playoff for the fourth remaining relegation spot. Lazio end the season third on 69 points, four behind Juventus, and six behind champions and crosstown rivals AS Roma.

Reggina 2 - AC Milan 1

AC Milan: Kakha Kaladze 69'

Reggina came from behind to record a precious win against AC Milan assuring the Calabrian side of a playoff against Verona for the fourth and final relegation spot. Kakha Kaladze gave AC Milan the lead with a nice run in the 69th minute. Giovanni Morabito levelled the score eight minutes later with a low angled shot from inside the box. Portugese midfielder Paulo Da Costa gave Reggina their 10th win of the season anticipating Milan goalkeeper Sebastiano Rossi with a chip in the 82nd minute. Reggina ended their season on 37 points level with Verona. AC Milan ended their campaign in sixth, on 49 points and with A Cup berth for next season. Former Galatasaray and Fiorentina manager, Fatih Terim has been named new AC Milan manager for next season. Terim will take over Cesare Maldini and Mauro Tassotti.

AS Roma 3 - Parma 1

AS Roma won their third Italian League title as they recorded their 22nd league win of the season in front of a capacity crowd at the Olympic Stadium. Roma captain Francesco Totti put the home side up front with a right foot volley in the 19th minute. Striker Vincenzo Montella doubled the score in the 39th minute slotting home a parried shot by Parma's goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Argentine international Gabriel Batistuta scored his team leading 20th goal of the season in the 77th minute with a well taken left foot shot from just inside the box. Parma's Marco Di Vio notched his 15th goal of the season in the 81st minute for the final result. A pitch invasion six minutes from the end failed to stop the party. Roma last won the Italian league title 18 years ago.

Udinese 2 - Vicenza 3

Vicenza won their ninth match of the season but could not avoid relegation. Two quick goals from Sierra Leone striker Mohammed Kallon gave Vicenza an early advantage after 11 minutes before Lamberto Zauli added a third in the 19th minute. Udinese's Roberto Sosa scored twice in 10 minutes to end the first half, giving the Argentine striker 14 goals on the season. Vicenza ended the season on 36 points, level with Napoli, who along with bottom club Bari have all been relegated to Italy's second division.

Verona 2 - Perugia 1

Verona recorded their 10th win of the season and earned the right to play Reggina in a playoff for the fourth and last relegation spot. Croatian Anthony Seric put the home side up front in the 23rd minute with a long range shot that was mishandled by Perugia goalkeeper Andrea Mazzantani. Giovanni Tedesco equalised for Perugia with a 51st minute header. Emiliano Salvetti's 70th minute strike gave Verona a much needed victory. Verona ended their season on 37 points, level with Reggina.
