A heroic penalty save by goalkeeper Massimo Taibi from forward Marco Nappi in the sixth minute of injury time ensured Reggina took a precious point at Atalanta. Luciano Zauri gave the home side the lead in the 11th minute but Andrea Zanchetta pulled the Calabrian side level four minutes later with a memorable left foot blast from the edge of the box.

France's Vincent Candela got Roma off the mark with a brilliant right foot volley in the 28th minute and Bari were down to ten men three minutes later when Duccio Innocenti was sent off. Gabriel Batistuta scored Roma's second three minutes before halftime, slotting home a parried shot from young Bari goalkeeper Antonio Narciso. Brazilian Cafu added a third as he headed home a Gianni Guigou cross in the 69th minute and Batistuta scored his second in the 87th. Gionatha Spinesi scored a consolation goal one minute from time for Bari, who were relegated.

In-form David Trezeguet scored twice helping Juventus to their 18th win of the season. Bologna struck first thanks to an early goal by Giuseppe Signori but Juventus fought back as Trezeguet was on target with a 26th minute blast from just inside the box before Igor Tudor gave Juve the lead with a header on the stroke of halftime. Trezeguet scored his second three minutes after the break and Darko Kovacevic hit the fourth from a fine through ball from Zinedine Zidane in the 81st. [Full match report]

Hernan Crespo ensured Lazio keep pace with leaders Roma by scoring twice in Lazio's 20th win of the season. The Argentine headed home a cross by Czech Karel Poborsky after only three minutes and the pair combined again in the 16th for Crespo to score his 23rd goal of the season. Stefano Fiore pulled one back for Udinese with a 68th minute penalty and substitute Lucas Castroman secured Lazio's victory with their third in the 84th.

Fabio Pecchia put Napoli on the way to a crucial win over relegation rivals Verona in the 41st minute with a perfectly angled right foot shot from the edge of the box. Brazilian forward Amauri came off the bench and scored his first Serie A goal seven minutes from time to secure the victory for Napoli.

Perugia 2 - Brescia 2

Brescia: Dario Hubner 45', 57' (penalty)

Substitute Anselmo Robbiati equalised in the 86th minute as Perugia came from two goals down. Forward Dario Hubner scored twice for Brescia, his first on the stroke of halftime and a penalty in the 57th minute for his 15th goal of the season. Greek striker Zisis Vrysas put Perugia back in the game in the 59th.

Vicenza 0 - Lecce 0

Lecce drew their seventh away match of the season against relegation rivals Vicenza. With three matches left, both clubs remain level on 33 points, two ahead of Napoli who are fourth from bottom.

Chiesa put Fiorentina ahead with a well taken free kick in the 11th minute and scored again seven minutes later with a breakaway strike that caught the AC Milan defence napping. Serie A's leading scorer Andriy Shevchenko pulled one back for Milan in the 28th, taking the Ukranian's tally to 24.
