As Sailor Mercury stands about to attack Sailor Luna, she suddenly has a pained expression. Sailor Luna explains that the spell on Mercury is getting weaker because she was showered in the light of the Silver Crystal. Sailor Luna disappears. Elsewhere, she turns back into a plush toy cat as she skips along the street.

After a brief update on the situation in the Dark Kindom, Rei and Makoto are at Karaoke Crown discussing the Sailor Star Tambourines. Usagi arrives at Karaoke Crown after searching for Luna, who apparently had a big announcement to give them. After an amusing set of Luna impressions, Usagi she says she wants to give Ami her Sailor Star Tambourine as soon as possible. The others agree that they need to get Ami back.

Evil Mercury stands atop a building at sunset, looking over the city, as painful memories cause her to wonder who she is. Usagi is walking along wondering about Ami, when human-form Luna throws a piece of paper at her head. Luna explains the situation with Ami, and is about to tell Usagi who she is when a dog barks and scares her away. Similarly, Luna appears to Rei in a toy shop, but gets distracted by a load of balls bouncing away before she has a chance to say that she is Luna. Finally, Luna is in Makoto's apartment while she is cooking, but Makoto spills some pepper, and Luna sneezes and disappears. Usagi, Rei and Makoto talk on the phone and agree that they must meet at Karaoke Crown to discuss this. At night, Evil Mercury looks out over some water reflecting the moon, and she is pained as she has more and more memories of her former life. However, Kunzite tells her not to look, and that she is already in the darkness.

The girls arrive at Karaoke Crown to find human-form Luna and a TON of dirty plates and bowls from junk food that she has eaten. The girls try to question her, but she doesn't say much of any real importance before she is interrupted by Usagi receiving a phone call from Ami. Usagi says that Ami wants Rei and Makoto - and only those two - go to the theme park where they fought her previously. Alone, Usagi arrives in a building that is most certainly not the theme park. It seems that Ami actually told her to come alone, and Usagi lied to Makoto and Rei so they wouldn't come with. Ami is there, and says that she hopes Usagi is prepared to fight, but Usagi is only there so she can turn Ami back to how she was. Ami clearly doesn't think this is very likely. She transforms into Evil Mercury.

After Usagi has transformed and the fight between Moon and Mercury has begun, human-form Luna appears and interrupts. Sailor Moon tells her she should leave (Luna only knew to come there because she has enhanced hearing and could hear the entire phone conversation), and is very surprised when she transforms into a Sailor Guardian: Sailor Luna, the Soldier of Love and Small Things. Sailor Luna is about to fight Mercury when Kunzite arrives to fight her instead. She does a good job evading him (and she attacks by hitting him on the head with a fan, which then turns into an exact double of the Moonlight Stick), but Kunzite knocks her over with a blast from his sword. She turns back into plushie-Luna, which Sailor Moon is very surprised about.

Sailor Moon mostly fights defensively against Evil Mercury because she doesn't want to hurt Ami. When Mercury has her pressed against a wall, an image of her former life flashes into her head, and she stops and backs away. After a brief pause, she angrily and desperately swings her sword at Sailor Moon. However, she continues to periodically stop and appear in pain, because she is returning to normal. Eventually, a field of golden light spreads from Sailor Moon's brooch and surrounds Mercury, but before she can be turned back fully, Kunzite tells her not to be confused. One last swing of her sword shatters the Moonlight Stick. Meanwhile, having found nothing at the theme park, Rei and Makoto return to Karaoke Crown to find a letter from Usagi, explaining and apologising.

Sailor Moon faints, and Mercury turns towards her and smiles. However, her smile fades as she slowly remembers pleasant memories of the four girls together. The silent flashbacks fade from black and white to colour, and Ami is finally returned to her true self (though still in the Evil Mercury costume). She hesitantly bends down to see if Usagi is okay, and angrily throws her ice sword away. She grabs hold of Usagi, which causes the Sailor Moon tiara to fall off and break in two. Mercury screams.

Important Events:
- Jadeite's mission is now to get closer to the Princess so he can find out how to get the Silver Crystal even though it is inside her body.
- Nephrite is still alone feeling sorry for himself. Zoisite cannot convince him to try and remember his past.
- A mysterious young girl with cat ears and a tail arrives, and visits Usagi, Ami and Rei. She also eats a lot of their junk food.
- This girl knows quite a lot about the Sailor Guardians, and says that Artemis said she should discipline them relentlessly.
- Usagi goes off alone to meet Ami, leaving Rei and Makoto only a note that they find upon returning to Karaoke Crown.
- It is revealed (but only to Usagi) that the girl is a human version of Luna, who can transform into Sailor Luna. (Judging by a scene near the beginning, this is just initially as surprising to her as itis to the others.)
- Sailor Luna battles Kunzite, who hurts her and causes her to become plushie-Luna again.
- Ami is turned back, but only after she breaks Sailor Moon's Moonlight Stick and tiara, and causes Usagi to pass out on the floor.
