Together with flashback footage, Luna begins an explanation about a time long ago, when the Earth was one country and there was a kingdom on the Moon. The Prince of the Earth and the Princess of the Moon fell in love...
Usagi is still in the Princess Serenity dress as the others kneel before her (she is uncomfortable with Rei and Makoto doing this). Sailor Venus explains that she has been acting as a decoy Princess, but she and Artemis are surprised to learn that Usagi and the others have not regained their memories of the past. However, Luna's memory is much clearer, and her task is now to teach the Princess and help her regain her memories. Venus refuses to join up with the others, saying that she has her own ways as the leader of the Guardians. Mars is displeased, since Venus previously said she was the leader. Venus says that getting Mercury back is their main priority, and Artemis says that he will send them presents.
In the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl explains to Jadeite that Metaria has become full of energy because of the Silver Crystal's first appearance. Beryl says that because it appeared in Sailor Moon's tear, the Silver Crystal might be in her body. Elsewhere in the Dark Kingdom's base, Kunzite tells Nephrite what has happened, and taunts him for being such a failure. As Kunzite walks away, he hears Zoisite's piano music, which prompts a memory of his past life: He walks into a ruined palace, and screams at the sight of Jadeite, Nephrite and Zoisite dead under the rubble. Meanwhile, because of Mamoru's near-death, Zoisite has concluded that being near the Princess is a danger to him. Mamoru is in the hospital, coming to terms with the recent revelations, when Zoisite appears. Zoisite explains that the Princess is related to Mamoru's past life, but that his relationship with the Princess is a bad omen and must be broken off. He cuts off mid-sentence and leaves when Hina arrives to visit.
Luna continues her explanation: The Prince and Princess were deeply in love (this is illustrated by mildly amusing footage of the two of them frolicking in the countryside), but it was forbidden love. Disaster struck - the Moon and the Earth broke into war, and a great evil caused chaos on the Earth. The Moon Kindom was destroyed. The flashback ends with a shot of Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion lying dead in the Moon Kingdom, holding each other's hand. Luna is giving this explanation at Karaoke Crown, her she, Usagi, Rei and Makoto discuss that this is their past life from a very long time ago. Usagi wonders if Ami has wondered too. We briefly see Evil Mercury looking out over the city. Makoto comments on Usagi saving Tuxedo Mask, and we see Hina giving Mamoru his plane ticket to London at the hospital. Luna warns that Usagi and Tuxedo Mask must stay apart - it was said in the past that their love caused the fall of the Moon and Earth. She will not know any more detail until Usagi or Tuxedo Mask regain their memories.
As they leave, Motoki reveals (between arbitrary histrionics) that Mamoru and Hina will be leaving the day after tomorrow. Usagi seems sad, but says nothing. At the hospital, Hina insists to Mamoru that there is nothing wrong, but seems rather downbeat as she leaves to go home. That night, four mysterious star-shaped items (the Sailor Star Tambourines) appear in the secret room at Karaoke Crown. The next day, Makoto arrives to find Takai, who explains that Motoki has gone to the airport to see off Mamoru and Hina - they are leaving that day! In the secret room, Usagi is being amused and confused by one of the Sailor Star Tambourines (the green one, meant for Jupiter), before Makoto drags her off to see Mamoru at the airport, against her insistence.
At the airport, Hina approaches Mamoru and rips up her ticket. She says that she knows Mamoru doesn't love her, and that she has too much pride to go through with the marriage anyway. She'd rather he wasn't in Japan, but her father is still happy to pay for him to study abroad. She leaves, despite anything Mamoru says. Later, Mamoru explains the situation to Motoki, and says that he has decided to go anyway - he claims that it might help him find out more about who he is, but he also remembers Zoisite's warning. Mamoru boards his plane.
Meanwhile, Usagi and Makoto's taxi is stuck in traffic when a monster sent by Nephrite attacks nearby. The two of them transform, and despite Makoto telling Usagi to go and find Mamoru, she stays to fight. Nephrite appears as well, and grabs her throat, but Jupiter realises that the Sailor Star Tambourine was the "present" from Artemis, and uses it to attack. Sailor Moon and Sailor Jupiter then attack simultanously to destroy the monster, and Nephrite retreats.
Usagi puts on a brave face, and leaves to go home. At sunset, Mamoru looks out of the window of his plane, and Usagi walks along and sings somewhat sadly as she looks up at the planes flying from the airport. She smiles and walks away.
A mysterious new Sailor Soldier, in yellow with purple hair and cat-ears, seems about to face off against Evil Mercury...

Characters Introduced:
N/A
Important Events:
- Luna now has a clear memory of the past (to a certain extent at least). She explains that a long time ago, the Earth was one country and there was a kingdom on the Moon. The Prince of the Earth and the Princess of the Moon fell in love, but it was forbidden love. The Moon and the Earth broke into war. A great evil caused chaos on the Earth, and the Moon Kindom was destroyed. Apparently, this was caused by the love of the Princess (Usagi) and the Prince (Tuxedo Mask - it seems that Usagi has not yet told the others that he is Mamoru), so Usagi tells Luna that she and Tuxedo Mask must stay apart. Usagi agrees to this, knowing that Mamoru is going to England and will marry Hina.
- The others do not have clear memories of the past. They only have vague feelings (such as remembering being more polite to Usagi).
- Sailor Venus finally confirms that she has been acting as a decoy for the real Princess. She will now go back to being a regular Guardian, but she will not join up with the others: She has her own way of doing things, as the leader.
- Artemis says that Luna must teach the Princess and help her regain her memories. He apologises for trying to limit her knowledge previous to this.
- Artemis says that Usagi was awoken as a Guardian because they need(ed) her for fighting.
- Rei is annoyed, because Venus had said she was the leader, which prompts Makoto to wonder when they they (particularly Rei) ended up on such bad terms with Sailor Venus.
- Queen Beryl says that Metaria has become full of energy because of the Silver Crystal's first appearance.
- Beryl says that Jadeite is the only one of the Four Heavenly Kings she can trust. She entrusts him to get the Silver Crystal, which she says might be in Sailor Moon's body.
- Kunzite tells Nephrite that Sailor Moon is the Princess, and the Silver Crystal is inside her. (Nephrite is bitter and launches a futile attack - big surprise there.)
- Zoisite's piano music causes Kunzite to remember something from his past life: He walks into a ruined palace, sees Jadeite, Nephrite and Zoisite dead under the rubble, and screams.
- Zoisite warns Mamoru that the love between him and the Princess (Usagi) is dangerous, and that tragedy might be prevented if they stay apart.
- Hina breaks up with Mamoru. He goes to England alone, partly prompted by Zoisite's warning.
- A mysterious new Sailor Soldier, in yellow with purple hair and cat-ears, seems about to face off against Evil Mercury. To be continued...
