Ami and Rei transform and save Makoto, in the process causing the monster to leave and the hole in the ground to disappear. They conclude that this is the cause of the disappearances, and later at Karaoke Crown, Luna says that the enemy must be kidnapping people to take their energy. Usagi lies to cover up that she spent a day with Mamoru, saying that she was actually with Naru when the monster attacks. Ami acts concerned, though she seems uncomfortable. Usagi lies awake that night worrying about Mamoru.

As she walks to school, Usagi wonders why she's still worrying about him. Ami is walking behind her, and is just about to talk to her, when Naru appears and asks Usagi about her "date" with Mamoru. Usagi protests that she actually loves someone else, and then notices Ami behind her. She suggests they walk together, and explains that Ami was worried about Naru. Naru is confused, but also almost offended. A further argument erupts in their English class that day - they have to get into pairs, and Naru not only seems jealous of the fact that Usagi is spending so much time with Ami, but is annoyed that Ami paints herself as the victim when Naru pairs up with Usagi first. (In an amusing scene, the teacher pairs them up with random people.)

In the Dark Kingdom, Kunzite explains his plan - an Energy Farm, where the kidnapped people live normal lives, but occasionally have their energy robbed, to. As per usual, Kunzite offends Nephrite, and they almost come to blows. Elsewhere, Ami sees Naru being pulled into one of the holes in the ground - and just barely fails in pulling her out. Shortly afterwards, Usagi and Rei arrive, and they go to the building where Luna says the kidnapped people are being held. However, a barrier prevents them getting to Naru and the others. The three of them transform and attack in unison, but the barrier knocks them back on all their attempts. Determined to save Naru, Sailor Mercury attacks on her own, but the same happens again. Sailor Moon runs off for a bit, leaving Mercury and Mars to talk. It turns out that Ami is determined to save Naru because she feels it is her fault that Naru was captured - she was jealous of Naru's friendship with Usagi, and feels like she couldn't save Naru because she didn't want to, because she wanted Naru to go away. Rei insists that this jealousy is a normal thing - there are many sides to everyone. It's no reason for Ami to hate herself, and it isn't Ami's fault that Naru could be saved.

Sailor Moon arrives back with Sailor Jupiter (who has a cold, hence she wasn't there earlier). The four of them combined can attack with enough power to break the barrier. The monster appears and the Sailor Guardians fight it, but Sailor Mercury defeats it. Sailor Moon then heals all the people using the Moonlight Stick. We next see Usagi, Naru and Ami in a cooking class at school, and once again they have to get into pairs. Ami insists to Naru that she won't give up trying to be in a group with Usagi, and Naru agrees... and much to Usagi's annoyance, the two of them form a group together. In the Dark Kingdom, Kunzite appears more away than Beryl of what's going on, as the ground shakes, lightning flashes, and the revival of the great evil, Queen Metaria, begins! At the same time, Jadeite returns to his human form...

Usagi has decided to give her cookies to Mamoru. She convinces herself that it's to thank him for the other day, and doesn't quite realise why her heart is pounding. However, when she gets to Mamoru's apartment building, she sees him leaving with another girl. He spots her, but the two of them walk on. Usagi appears to be on the verge of tears.

Important Events:
- Though she either doesn't realise it or isn't willing to admit it to herself, Usagi is now very much in love with Mamoru.
- The animosity between Ami and Naru is now resolved. They both want to be good friends with Usagi, and were each jealous of how much time the other spent with her, but they've realised that they might as well be good friends with each other too.
- To the apparent surprise and unease of Queen Beryl, Kunzite's collection of energy has led to the initiation of the revival of the great evil, Queen Metaria.
- Jadeite has returned from the stone he was turned into in Act 9 to his human form.
- Usagi sees Mamoru with another girl that she assumes is his girlfriend. Mamoru is surprised when he sees Usagi outside his apartment building looking very forlorn, but he insists to the girl that there's nothing wrong, and he continues walking.
