Tuxedo Mask reveals to the public that the reason he steals jewellery is that he is searching for the Silver Crystal, which according to news broadcasts is worth a huge amount of money. This triggers mass panic, with people trying to find out if their own jewels are the Silver Crystal, and making sure that they are not stolen. There is also an odd outbreak of Tuxedo Mask lookalikes. Luna and the Sailor Guardians are very worried about this, but Usagi cannot believe that he could be their enemy. The president of a large company asks Rei to protect a jewel he owns (which he believes is the Silver Crystal), but Rei is reluctant. Ami volunteers to go in her place, pretending to be Rei's apprentice. While Ami is at the man's house, a man comes to appraise the jewel - but really he has been sent by Nephrite.
Meanwhile, Makoto has gone to the house in case Tuxedo Mask arrives, and Usagi has come along too. Makoto disguises herself as one of the guards protecting the house, while Usagi sits in a tree. When Nephrite steals the jewel, Makoto and Ami transform and battle him. Eventually the jewel is dropped and shatters, revealing that it couldn't have been the Silver Crystal. As this is going on, Usagi spots Tuxedo Mask going towards the house, and disguises herself as him to distract the guards. Once she and Tuxedo Mask are safely out the way, she goes to talk to him - but he turns out to be an imposter, and a rather unpleasant one at that! Usagi is forced to run from the police again, and the real Tuxedo Mask tells her to transform to evade them. At night, he reveals to Usagi that he is looking for the Silver Crystal to figure out who he is. However, he will not tell her any more about himself.
(Anime/Manga Comparison)
Characters Introduced:
N/A
Important Events:
- Queen Beryl turns the still-unconscious Jadeite into a gemstone (which she then turns black), and says that he should store his power for the sake of the Dark Kingdom
- Usagi tells Naru that she is in love with someone
- Rei says that she is not happy for peopple to take stock in her psychic powers in situations like this, where she can't really help (she can't use them to get rid of burglars), and it is clear that this is a point of contention for her
- Luna and the Sailor Guardians - apart from Usagi - become even more convinced of the likelihood that Tuxedo Mask is their enemy
- As if it wasn't perfectly clear already, Usagi explicitly states that she is in love with Tuxedo Mask (although no one is there to hear her)
- The other Guardians suspect that Usagi is in love with Tuxedo Mask (once again, it's pretty damn obvious), and feel that this is clouding her judgement about him - he is a thief, after all, and Sailor V did give that warning a few episodes ago
- For the first time we see Mamoru's recurring dream, where the vague figure of a girl asks him to find the Silver Crystal
- Technically Usagi leanrs that Tuxedo Mask knows she is Sailor Moon, although for some reason this isn't brought up
- Tuxedo Mask tells Usagi that he is looking for the Silver Crystal so he can figure out who he is; he thinks it is best that she does not know who he is
- Zoisite is composing a piece of music he calls "Requiem for the Princess"...
