When I saw the stereo system in my Miata, I knew it has to be replaced. The top left picture shows a Sony deck with CD control and under it a Sony passive EQ. The two sides of the Sony deck had to be trimmed for it to fit flush with the panel.
The top right picture shows a polk Audio tweeter flush mounted in the door panel. The woofer is also replaced with Polk Audio Woofer. In order for the tweeter to fit flush, some sheet metal behind the tweeter must be removed.
The lower left picture shows a Sony plate style speaker custom mounted on the rear box tray. To install speakers at this location, rear carpet and a piece of sheet metal under the carpet has to be removed and holes cut in them. The last picture shows the components in the trunk. I placed a Sony CD changer, a subwoofer, and an amplifier under the subwoofer.
