Jessica Wolk-Stanley, an Oregon native, has lived in the New York City area since graduation from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She has worked as a lithographer, animator, movie producer and scriptwriter, busgirl and door-to-door fundraiser. Not to mention an infamous 2-week stint at MTV's Beavis and Butthead (she was asked not to come back). The dozen or so books she has illustrated include The Big Book of Life's Instructions (Harper Collins), Dr. Math Explains Geometry (Wiley), and How to Really Fool Yourself (Wiley). She lives in a pre-Civil War row house in Jersey City, New Jersey, with her husband Dmitry, 4-year-old Nate, a tiny baby named Emma and Maggie the dog.
