July 29, 2006 : Family Picnic

What

11:00 am, Family Picnic at Beach 5 in Lake Barcroft (registration required, directions)

This is an event for the whole family. Grab some swimsuits, burgers, the family and bring them all for a picnic lunch with your former classmates.  Attire:  very casual.

Catering services will be provided by Purple Onion Catering, offered by Alex Hanson Huebner and her husband, John.

Hamburgers, hotdogs and veggie burgers will prepared on site. Heavy appetizers, drinks and various picnic niceties will also be provided. Lifeguards will be present to monitor swimming for our event. We will also have portable bathroom facilities in case you have too much lemonade.

Rubber ducks and beach balls provided for the little ones by Steve and Linda (Schwarzkopf) Harper while supplies last.

Make a check out for $90 per adult to "J.E.B. Stuart Class of 1986 Reunion" and send it to:

Upon receiving the payment you will get confirmation via e-mail, so please send your e-mail address with the check. The $90 pays for a single adult to attend the cocktail party, picnic or both. Children's attendance at the picnic is included with any adult registration. We don't recommend bringing children to the cocktail party. Please remember that bringing an adult spouse, significant other or friend costs an additional $90. If you have married a child, please e-mail our legal counsel.

This buys you the following:

Cocktail Party

  • admittance to the Clarendon Ballroom
  • the music of 80's band "Reflex"
  • appetizers
  • dessert bar
  • an unforgettable evening with your JEB Stuart classmates

Picnic

  • admittance to Lake Barcroft Beach 5
  • heavy appetizers from Purple Onion Catering Company, to include: pasta salad, green salad, sesame noodles, coleslaw, cookies, and brownies
  • loaded grills and loaded grillmasters are will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers
  • buns, marinated veggies and condiments
  • paper products and plastic sliver ware
  • chilled non-alcoholic drinks (lemonade, iced tea)
  • lifeguard-protected swimming (please monitor the young ones as the guards cannot babysit)
  • a plethora of beach balls and rubber duckies for the youngsters
  • as many trips to the porta-potty that you care to take

From JEB Stuart HS
Take Peace Valley until it ends on Patrick Henry. Take a left on Patrick Henry and continue until it ends. Take a right on to Beachway and a left on Potterton. Follow Potterton over the bridge and bear left to continue on Waterway. The beach is located on a small peninsula on the left. Limited street parking is available on the beach side of Waterway and adjacent side streets.

If events or exigencies beyond the reasonable control of the organizers of these reunion events cause any or all of the events to be changed, altered moved or even canceled, part or all of the registration fee may not be refunded. If such an unfortunate occurrence takes place, every effort will be made to refund any funds that remain within the dominion and control of the organizers to the registrants on a pro rata basis.
