...and a "Gold Run" win!
This team's total is now $12,000.
The maximum was originally $60,000 (ten matches) but was upped to $120,000 (twenty matches).
This player got creative and
painted the "Gold Run" board on her fingernail.
"Blockbusters" returned in 1987
on NBC. Here's the opening logo.
Here's "Blockbusters" second host, Bill Rafferty!
Now the board was electronically generated. Some other changes were made as well.
Perhaps the biggest one was a new
one-on-one format. In the first game the champion got the advantage, and the challenger in the second. If a third was needed an altered board was used so no one had an advantage.
Each game was worth $100 and two was still worth a trip to the "Gold Run".
Now the bonus was played for a progressive jackpot, which started at $5,000 and increased by that much until it was won.
Here's a wide shot of the main set.
