Selected Models of JPL

This is just a fraction of the models that the Jet Propulsion Laboratory has on display.  The models shown here were located in the von Karman visitors center, the Deep Space Operations building and the spacecraft assembly facility.  Many more buildings were open but after standing in line at the instrument systems lab and the deep space ops, we didn't feel like standing in any more lines..  JPL looks just like a college campus and I was surprised by how many places we could go.  Thanks JPL!!!

Cassini and Galileo models were in a case near the full size model of Galileo.  Last December 2000, Cassini flew by Jupiter on its way to Saturn.  At the same time, Galileo was orbiting Jupiter giving a unique opportunity to study the planet.
