This Compress Bridge and Double Trestle Bents were built from Garden-Texture plans. They are GREAT plans and easy to use. I was glad that I had a table saw. I had to purchase a very expensive blade because I cut my own redwood. All were cut from some new and some very seasoned redwood fencing. Redwood is great to work with especially with a new blade! It cut that redwood like it was warm butter.
A copy of the pattern was tacked to a scrape piece of blue insulation board. All pieces are nailed and glued with exterior water proof Elmers Glue.
Temporary footings include bricks, bathroom tiles (they are flat, slender and strong) and blocks of redwood. The whole bridge ties to a 6 foot long trestle on a down hill slope. It is very strong, even in this temporary condition.
All bents will be buried in gravel later after all of the leading trestles are in and finished.
Operational - so it was time to play. I will stain it and seal it later... I did.
