Background

The IFV-MP is an updated version of the Timoney CM31, which is in service with the Army of Taiwan. It has improved mine protection, making it one of the best mine protected vehicles available. It also has a different axle layout to it's predecessor, two steerable axles at the front, to aid steering in case a front wheel is blown off (wheels are designed to break away cleanly), and one axle at the rear. The IFV-MP can clear an obstacle 1 metre high and a trench 2 metres wide, greater than most of today's IFVs including the 8x8 Piranha III. Althouh, the IFV-MP has a low centre of gravity, it has a high ground clearance due to it's all terrain independent suspension system. It has a monocoque hull, is amphibious without preparation and provides a very stable weapons platform. As it's name implies, it is protected against mines and will withstand a 12 Kg of TNT anywhere under the Vehicles, far greater than most of today's IFV (the Piranha III for example will withstand only 8 Kgs of TNT). It comes as standard with a Central Tyre Inflation System, Michelin tyres with run-flats, ABS brakes, a Fire Suppression system, Air Conditioning and an Arctic kit. It can be fitted with various weapons systems ranging from a 12.7mm Machine Gun up to a 105mm Tank Gun. It may also be fitted with various missile systems for anti-tank and air defence roles. It has vision blocks and firing ports, allowing the crew to fire their individual weapons from inside the vehicle. Drivers night vision sights are standard.
