The ASV 150 uses an advanced modular expandable armor from IBD, consisting of ceramic composite applique on the exterior and spall liner on the interior.
It has been ordered by the US Army for use by the Military Police.
Press reports indicate that the M1117 has proven very successful and very popular with troops in Iraq providing far greater protection than armored Humvees.
Further orders for the M1117 (ASV 150) have been received from both the new Iraqi army and the US Army. Total orders now stand at 1,118 units.
