"You two are pilots?" he asked
them, raising an eyebrow slowly. They both wrinkled their noses at the exact
same time, as if the thought of them being pilots completely, utterly disgusted
them to no end. Then they both looked down at their notepads and said
"No. We're the secretaries of Mr. Allister and Mr. Sugimori. We represent
them." the general nodded slowly and thoughtfully.
"All right, how long have your pilots been in piloting school?"
asked the general. A simple question. He would start simple.
"Six years, they also did four years of sciences and astronomy, they
went to the Learning Institute, nearby here. They got the two highest marks
in the school for piloting. Mr. Allister has the highest mark, Mr. Sugimori
has the second highest mark." they both talked at the exact same time.
The general was over-whelmed. He had asked a simple question, and ended up
with so many things.
he decided to begin firing away at the questions, to see how well they could
do. They began writing down things, notes, as if they were grading him! Rather
than their pilots being graded by him!
"Do they have any pets? Are they
low maintenance or high? Do they have girlfriends? How old are they? How much
do they pay you? Why do they want to join?" he asked so many questions
it made his head feel dizzy. He was normally a very centered man.
"No, low but they can become high, no, 18, that is classified information,
and because they feel that this would be a great opportunity to help the people
and get better, more skilled training. Plus they both have always dreamed
to become pilots. They have been invited to be interviewed by over one hundred
schools and their Head Instructor expects them to visit every school, we are
very busy people, and don't have much time. In fact you should consider yourself
lucky that you have been chosen as one of the one hundred schools they chose
to be interviewed by." the girls said at the same time. They thought
that if they made the boys look really superior and busy it would make the
general want to have the two pilots even more. The general nodded and they
exited in an abrupt, official fashion. They walked out of the building at
the exact same time, and then broke into giggling, and excitedly, and noisily
chattered about how they did the best job, and they were going to win for
sure!
It was the day after their graduation of Friday when the girls went to the interviews. After that the boys had about half a week before the letters of acceptance came flowing in. Their mail-box was over-crowded, and they, and the two engineers had it just as bad. They spent the entire second half of the week opening letters of acceptance. There were very few that were not letters of acceptance. They then wrote down all the companies that accepted them and the engineers, cut them up, and put them into a hat for Sunday. On Sunday the female fans crowded around like never before, they had all brought their friends with, and even more people came. News reporters also came, trying to figure out what kind of a riot was going on. Then there was complete silence, as once more the two boys climbed out of the window. The world around them seemed to sit still, and all time seemed to stop. They pulled out of the hat a winner for the third prize. There was much applause as the lucky winner ran excitedly to the front of the building, and Mitsuhiro dropped his hat down to her, she caught it, and then all the girls began to scream out of pure excitement! A second lucky winner was drawn, and there was even more applause and cheering.
"Take off your jacket." said
Mitsuhiro. But Kaleb refused. It was one of his only jackets, and he really
liked it allot.
"But it's a designer jacket!" he cried. Mitsuhiro grabbed his wrist
and pointed out to the crowds of girls.
"Look, all these girls went to a ton of trouble to help us out, and only
four of them are going to win something, so just make them happy. You can
always buy another jacket, your rich. Right?" Kaleb sighed, and bit his
lip, then he took of the light jacket and slowly gave it one last squeeze,
before dropping it to the ground. The girl caught it ecstatically, and began
jumping and dancing with it. Now the final girls were to be announced. Mitsuhiro
had found all the pairs of girls that had both worked together, and had gotten
both of them accepted. He then put them all in a separate hat, and drew the
names.
"And the lucky pair is.. Jennifer Pullitz and Sandy James!" he announced, like a game-show host from television. The two girls screamed among the cheering and Sandy almost fainted. Jennifer grabbed Sandy's wrist and dragged her towards the door of the building, and ran in. Neither girl could believe they were going to spend the entire day with the two boys. She knew their room number, since she had climbed up that ladder, and tried to climb in their window not so long ago. In fact, Sandy almost got Mitsuhiro's pants!
