The second night he went back with Kaleb.
The two advanced on the door. Mitsuhiro placed his finger upon the detector.
The small jewel in the ring, which his roommate told him had to be a ruby,
as the code was set to all gold rings of 2 centimeters thick, anything above
16 karats, and had to have a ruby on the top, glowed a deep amber color, then
a dark red, then a maroon-like color. The door slid open silently. Inside
was a room like they had never seen before. It was filled with wondrous robots.
Most of them were space robots. There were hundreds of robots lined up next
to each other. They all had huge guns and cannons attached to them.
"They were planning some kind of world domination! Look! Why would they
need so many fighter pilots, and fighter space-robots if they aren't fighting
with anybody? How could the country be so stupid as to believe that I.P.M.
would actually become good?" muttered Mitsuhiro feeling ashamed for the
country. His pride in the country, his nationalism, was all gone. From one
simple room.
"We've got to stop this company. And it's up to us. We can't do it now,
we need to do training with these robots, learn how they work, learn how I.P.M.
works, so we can find out their weaknesses, and then hit them where it hurts!"
whispered Mitsuhiro. Kaleb nodded.
"Look over there." he pointed to two giant robots. They were the
most human-like and they were about thirty or forty feet tall. They had a
face, in which the pilot sat, the windows acted as eyes. One the right side
of the right leg of the black one with red eyes and other parts and some kind
of a gigantic blade was inscribed "Titan: Prometheus" and on the
white one with green and blue eyes and parts and with a second huge blade
also had an inscription in the foot which read "Titan: Atlas "
"What's a Titan?" asked Mitsuhiro
who had never heard of such a word in his life. The massive space-robots were
huge, and looked like they could be land ones and space ones. Few robots had
double-usage, but this one seemed to look more like a land robot than a space
robot. Kaleb, who seemed to spend all his time doing school work, or reading
books knew the answer to this one.
"The Ancient Greeks were creative people, they looked at the sun and
imagined it as a fiery chariot in the sky, they made constellations, or pictures
of bears, lions, bulls, crabs, and fierce hunters in the sky! They saw lightning
and said that it must be the god, Zeus, hurling thunderbolts. There were immortal
beings in rivers and forests for them. There were sea nymphs, and dryads in
the forests, and naiads in the lakes and streams! But there were also greater
gods, like Zeus, or Hera, or Poseidon. They all came from one father and mother,
and those were the Titans. The Greeks made these myths and mythological characters
to explain things they could not explain themselves. A Titan in Greek mythology
was one of a family of giants who ruled the world before the gods of Mount
Olympus. Prometheus and Atlas were Titans, these days titan means person or
thing have enormous size, strength, or power. You know, a giant. Basically
a titan is anything gigantic or huge. It would seem that they have named these
two "Titans" after the Greek ones. Prometheus was one of the Titans.
He stole fire from heaven and taught men it's use. Zeus, god of the Sky was
angered at this since he had told Prometheus not to do this, so to punish
him he punished Prometheus by chaining him to a rock. Zeus was pretty jealous
of mankind. Then there was Atlas. He was also incredibly strong, he holds
the world up on his shoulders, Heracles, or Hercules, as you may know him,
had twelve tasks because his father, Zeus had a whole bunch of wives. One
of those wives was a powerful goddess, Hera, she was jealous that Zeus spent
time with his half mortal children more than his fully immortal ones. So she
made Hercules perform these twelve tasks, thinking that he would die for sure.
But he did them. One of them was to get some golden apples, but only Atlas,
the mighty Titan could get them. So Hercules said he would hold up the Earth
for a little while if Atlas would get him some golden apples, and Atlas did.
By then Atlas had tasted freedom, and said that now Heracles would have to
hold up the heavens himself. Heracles tricked Atlas, and told him that he
just needed to tie a rope around his head or something, so he wouldn't be
crushed by the heaven's weight. Atlas agreed, and grabbed the heavens once
more, and then Heracles ran off."
"Hey! Look over there! Tiny little guys!" and he was right. There were some tiny robots, that looked allot like fat little men. Dwarves, or gnomes of some kind. On them was a single word "Homunculus". Kaleb said that that meant a little man, a dwarf, or a model of a little man used for demonstrating anatomy and other sciences. Mitsuhiro began to make a plan, the Titans were strong in Greek Mythology, so if these robots were named after them then they had to be pretty strong too. So then the Titans should be able to destroy the battle-robot that they had seen out in space, right? Kaleb quickly pulled Mitsuhiro out of the room after looking around a bit more. He had decided it was far too dangerous for them to hang around in a room that they weren't supposed to be in.
