No, I'm not the rapping genie from the hit 1996 movie, "Kazaam". That was Shaquille O'Neal. I went out for basketball back in the 5th grade, but that's pretty much where the similarities end. Well... That is, unless you count that crappy song of mine as "rapping". (Check out the "Fun Zone" Section to hear what I mean.) Admittedly, I did in fact pick the pseudonym "Kazaam" because I am a fan of the movie. |

This site is called SurroundReview.com, but it's really just a glorified personal webpage that I've used to consolidate all my SACD/DVD-Audio reviews (if you can call them reviews). I wrote and originally posted many of these at chat forums, such Sound & Vision. I know there aren't many of us surround music fans left, but I'm in this for the long haul. For instance, I'm already reviewing Blu-Ray concerts that have 5.1 audio. |

Listening to music in surround sound is just a hobby and a passion that I enjoy so much that I decided to make a webpage about it. It keeps me entertained and busy. However, I do fear some reviews aren't necessarilly the best and sometimes there is a lack of consistency between what gets rated as a 4 versus a 5, etc. Some reviews are decent enough, though. (Or so I'd like to think!) Anyway... I'd also suggest to gather other opinions, too, at places such as QuadraphonicQuad's "Surround Music Polls" section that allows many different users to post their opinions of various music discs. |

Hey, y'all... It's all about fun! I'm very enthusiastic about music and the audio/video gear I play it on, but I don't feel I take it too seriously. At least not to the point of using $10,000 interconnects. Besides, between the ringing I suffer in both ears, I've been making conscious attempts to simply be happy with whatever home theater setup I have despite its potential flaws. That said, I'll still try to find decent equipment at an affordable price and set it up at least somewhat properly. Still this begs the question: If I'm really so laid back, then why is it that I whine about it evey time I dislike a surround mix? Hmmmmm.... Thankfully, I like most of the stuff I hear. ---Kazaam |
