Energizing the Leader Within: Inspirational Leadership in the Holy Land

The 8-day "Energizing the Leader Within” workshop is a “journey” facilitating participants’ reconnection to an internal source of power through spiritual roots. The journey takes place in the "Holy Land”, through sites empowered with special meaning, in environments highly conducive for dialogue, contemplation and emotional energizing. This unique outdoor journey parallels an “inner quest” where participants look inward to unravel and enhance hidden leadership potential.

Participants apply their heightened self-awareness and the knowledge gained through the workshop experience, to choose new ways of leading in their organization, community and family. Participants develop competencies and skills to lead others to:

The approach of the workshop is ecumenical, embracing a diversity of spiritual sources, some secular- others religious. The central idea is to help participants get in touch with and reformulate their own core ideologies and values and visions through these experiences and through Socratic dialogue. The renewed faith and hope this brings will serve as levers to transform and energize their associates and organizations.

During the first five days of the workshop participants engage in a wide range of physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological experiences. In evening dialogue sessions, participants conceive ideas, examine feelings, draw inferences, make judgements, discuss differences and develop insights into the meaning of those experiences.

This unique outdoor journey travels through places such as:

Desert landscapes, environmental conditions supportive to undergoing personal transformation such as the two-day participation in a camel caravan - a unique experience indeed.

Three seas:

  1. The Red Sea, and the gulf of Aquaba. A renoun scubadiving resort situated at a strategic political and economical crossroads. The first activity, swimming with dolphins, is a moving experience, perfect to mark the transition into the workshop

  2. The Dead Sea, the lowest in the world combining extraordinary geological conditions with health spa and renoun for its rejuvenation properties
  3. The Mediterranean Sea, the base for Western civilization as we know it today.

Historical locations, such as:

  1. The Qumran caves, mainspring for the spiritual birth of the Essenes sect from which it is claimed Jesus and John the Baptist came
  2. Masada the site of a heroic last resistance of the Jews against Roman occupation
  3. Jerusalem, the spiritual center for Christians, Muslims and Jews.

Kibbutz Revadim, was elected to wrap up the experience. It is situated nearby famous archaelogical discoveries, such as the renowned energy source from which Samson supposedly drew his magical powers in combat against the Philistines. Moreover, it offers a special insight into a comunity in transition, perfect for reflection into transitional steps to take place in the participants' organizations after the workshop.

During the last three days at Kibbutz Revadim, participants work with all data gathered since the beginning of the workshop. Together and individually they examine themselves and their reactions to the workshop experiences, the world outside, and one another’s behavior. Here is where things crystallize and personal growth and transformation are made possible.

Some powerful methods introduced during the workshop include:

  1. Analysis of 360 feedback assessment that participants receive and complete before departing from home for the workshop. This will provide rich and timely feedback for leadership and organizational change development.
  2. Dialogue sessions, a new form of conversation that follows an array of rules for engagement. The emphasis is on new understanding rather than debate or trying to convince others that you are “right.”
  3. Music, movement and art, (led by Maric Chazin) involves working with emotional rather than rational intelligence.

 Who should attend:

Senior Executives, Consultants, Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners, Managers, Human Resources Professionals, Attorneys, Accountants, Psychologists and other service professionals.
