As she was expecting a child, Carrie became fearful of Diane after Diane found out that Carrie was planning to leave Oakridge with Greg. Her marriage to Greg ended when Carrie realized he would never to stand up to his mother, Diane. She was kidnapped in a twist of fate when mistaken for Megan Sterling, but found herself on the run from a dangerous gangster along with Nate Rutledge. They fell in love and returned to Oakridge just in time for her to give birth to her first child. Carrie gave birth to baby Adam and is refusing to let the Sterling family have anything to do with his upbringing, which has lead to Greg blackmailing her over their divorce. Her family recently joined her in town, giving Carrie some support as she tries to re-establish her life away from the Sterlings, even though she is bound to them forever through Adam. Her relationship with Nate, however, began to nosedive when Carrie realized that Nate's past was something he wanted to keep private, and she began to wonder just how little she knows about the man she loves. While the reasons he is so intent on keeping his past a secret is just as much a mystery as his past itself, Carrie is beginning to wonder if she is content building a life with a man who can so easily keep things from her. |
