Professor Dhirendra Vasudevrao Potdar is a keen student of Kannada & English literature.
He is English teacher by profession and has taught undergrad students for over 30 years. He has
translated many Kannada works in to English for introducing them to a larger audience. His
translation (in condensed form) of Jnanapith award winner Dr Shivaram Karanth's autobiography
was published by Kendra Sahithya Academy. Karnataka University (Dharwar) has published his booklet on TP Kailasam's Kannada plays. He has been working on bringing selected Kannada works of many Dasas in to English and these have been published to the select audience over e-mail. This web-site is an effort to put them together in one place and make them easily available. He appreciates your comments and views. Prof Potdar lives in Bangalore with his wife Sudha and son Dr Vithal Potdar/family. |
