"Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
"Angel"
Beach House

1) Do you get sick of people mentioning the "James Dean"resemblance ?
I actually played James Dean in a show called Ghost Stories that followed the bizarre deaths and circumstances associated with his car. No, James Dean associations are flattering at worst, now if I resembled Screech, well...

2) Any "Buffy,Vampire Hunter "on-set stories ?
Shooting "Buffy" was actually a blast. Everybody was in such good spirits on the set because it was the first show back from hiatus. We shot 16 hours straight and not a complaint from any one. I started one scene underground in a dirt grave, so my ears and pants were filled with soil for 8 hours. Sara Michelle was kind enough to hold my saliva soaked teeth in between takes. She was very cool.

3) Any "Angel" gossip ?
"Angel "was filmed the the night after the Super Bowl and I had to be at Paramount at 3am for some intense make-up and prosthetics that took 3 hours to complete. David Boreanez threw a fit when there was too much blood on his jacket in the scene but everyone was real cool on that set too. The face prosthetics I wore had a screw going in my lip and up through a nostril, the problem was it held my lip up, and my saliva dripped down to the bottom of the fake chin. So I was slurping all day with a spit saturated chin.

4) 9/11: Commission Report, Is it the film we fear ?
Interestingly enough, 911 does have almost identical scenes as the made for tv movie that is stirring up a lot of controversy. Politicians and secret service individuals just don't want to be associated with the responsibility of knowing vital information prior to the attacks and not acting on them. The film is based on information from the commission report but lets the viewer derive their own conclusions of what they believe may or may not be true.

5) TheAsylum been a good experience as a boss ? Comments on some of the films ?
The Asylum has been a great acting opportunity for me to play a variety of characters. We just finished another film in Milwaukee where I played a rogue barbarian in the Sithe forest, very fun, and I think some of my best work yet. I've been working on films with Leigh since his first film which was also my first film years ago. Anything he does I want to be a part of because I trust him implicitly. In all honesty, I think the films could be better if we had more time for the little things, but the company strategy is to make films at a fast and furious pace. That's the business and they seem to be doing very well by it.

6) BEST things about "The DENT" ?
Best things about "the Dent" is that I love being people other than myself, it's a great form of expression. I'm probably the most easy going guy on the set and make sure everybody else has a good time. Totally dedicated to my craft and diligent about my work. I've been close to some break out movie roles for the last year or so, but manage to have enough patience to keep perspective and optimism. My sense of humor keeps my right.

7) WORST of "The DENT" ?
Worst things, seven fingers on one hand and a club foot. But I finished 2nd in the keyboard 100 meter sprint finals in Glascow last year. Maybe my sense of humor is the worst thing, I should reassess.

FAMOUS statement to leave with your fans ?
I'm gonna steal some famous words from Betty Davis, "Take Fountain". For those of us in Hollywood ,we know that Fountain street is the fastest way to travel through town. I wrote a script I'm shopping around with the same name.

1)"Machined" is out,A good experience ?
Yea, the experience has been great. Lions Gate really promoted it well. It's on every New Release shelf in the Country so that's very exciting. We worked really hard on it with no budget so it feels good to see it out there like that. I'm just really happy for Craig McMahon getting his first major release, as well as the other actors in the film getting that exposure. We all appreciate the support for "Machined".Anyone who wants to check out the website, and if you're one of the few who hasn't watched the trailer: www.machinedthemovie.com

2)"San Franpsycho" seems like a huge cult film,Are you ready to be that huge of ICON ?
I think people are really going to like this film. It came out really good. It will be released October 10th Worldwide. It's one of the best experiences I've had as an actor. It's the kind of character that you're either going to love or hate. If people dig the character that much, it would be great. But I really think it's going to be a big movie. I think it's that good. www.pumpkinpatchpictures.com

3) Commercials ,where are they on the scale of your career ?
I was very fortunate to be cast in two National commercials for the Sci-Fi Channel. The commercials are for Christine Feehan Romance Novels. And they will also screen during the previews in Southern California movie theatres. The trailers are for the novels "Conspiracy Game" and "Deadly Game" that will be released soon. But that's the only commercial work I've ever done. I hope I get other opportunities.

4)What can you say about your video-game work ?
I was cast to work on my first video game earlier this year. I did the motion capture for the physical parts of the character. I had a specific character then I ended up doing all of the physical movements for several characters. I basically do almost every movement for every bad guy in the story. I had an absolute blast doing it. It was different but I had no idea how much fun it was going to be. Then I was so fortunate to work on another video game recently. But this time I did only one character. But I did the physical capture, facial expressions and the voice. Both games have titles but I'm not allowed to give those out at this time. All I can say is one is a crime drama role playing style of video game, and the other is a race car game. Both are THQ Inc video games coming out on PS3, X-BOX 360 and the new Nintendo. So I'm looking forward to that whole experience when they're released in 2007. And I look forward to working on more video games in the future.

5) We heard you had done 65 films,Already ?
Well I've been acting for eight years now. Overall I've done over sixty projects. But that's for both short and feature length projects. And that ranges from extra work early on to one liners, supporting roles and lead characters. It's added up over the years and the experience has been priceless. I've worked my way up to direct to video films and look forward to bigger films down the road.

6) What is the BEST of the Jose,On/Off the set ?
Well I'd say the best is that I'm a hard worker and I take what I do very serious. On the set I'm easy to work with and I love to act. Off the set I just always find myself appreciating every opportunity I get. I've wanted to be in movies since I was a kid so every chance I get, I'm ready to work. And I look forward to working with talented people who have ideas for entertaining films down the road.

7) What's the WORST ?
I wouldn't say it's the worst but to be honest, I'm greedy. I want to be in every movie. I'm relentless when it comes to getting involved in projects. Every single day I'm at it trying to find my way onto other projects. Like I said, I love to act and it's all I ever wanted to do. And I don't have an agent. I've gotten everything on my own.

-What words can you leave with the JR Fanz ?
Well anyone out there who appreciates my work, I appreciate it right back. I appreciate every bit of support. I've been working hard and it's so I can entertain. Right now besides "Machined" you can find "I Got 5 On It" opposite Todd Bridges and "Illegal Business" on the New Release section in your local video store. I just up-dated my Demo Reel and that can be viewed on my My Space page at www.myspace.com/joserosete And every other bit of info on me can be found at www.joserosete.com Thank you for everything and remember to go rent “San Franpsycho” on October 10th Worldwide!

TOM NAGEL

www.myspace.com/tomnagel

*short Bio Tom Nagel started modeling and acting in his home town of Cleveland Ohio. After graduating from school he decided to join the US Navy because he didn't have the money to move to LA or New York where he felt was the place to be as an actor. After 2 years of service he was stationed in San Diego California and had an oppertunity to get out. Being so close to LA he took it. And moved there not to long after getting out of the Navy. Since then he has done numerous short films and 6 feature films. Plus two more in production. Currently he is preparing to star in a military film about the Navy Seals.

The Butcher
Pirates of Treasure Island
Dracula's Curse
Hillside Cannibals The Beast of Bray Road The Isle Nevis Jolly Roger: Massacre at Cutter's Cove
in production My Sweet Darkness
and a film about the navy-unamed yet

1) Very kewl career already. We thought your most challenging was Hillside Cannibals and best was Dracula's Curse ..Your thoughts ?
1) Thank you very much. I must say I am pretty happy with my career so far. Its been alot of hard work but so much fun. I mean I am living my dream everyday. Hillside Cannibals was very difficult. It was 28 degrees at night and very physical. I acually got that role kind of last minute. I guess they had lost there actor and needed someone they could trust. I have worked with the director Leigh Scott before and he asked me if I could come play the part. I really enjoy working with him and it was a pretty easy yes. Its funny because working on that film was one of the hardest but also one of the most fun. Dracula's Curse was just a blast and I would have to say its kind of a tie between that and The Butcher to being my favorite. I think those are my best performances. I love Dracula but I had a bigger role in The Butcher, so its a tough call.

2)DELETED QUESTION!
DELETED ANSWER!

3) When will you play a Bad Guy ?
3) A bad guy??? I would love to play a bad guy...Playing the bad guy is just so much fun!! Hopefully it will be soon. Right now I have nothing lined up though. I seem to always get the hero role. Which isn't a bad thing. I usally get the girl in the end. ha ha ha But yea I would love to play the villian.

4) The Butcher ? Isle Of Nevis ? Havent gotten the publicity that Theasylum can get,Tell us more ?
4) Well The Isle Nevis is acually a short film I did that has only been to film festivals and played online. It was the first job I did after leaving the Navy. I acually broke 2 ribs shooting a sword fight in that film-A little inside scoop.

The Butcher has acually gotten me latly alot more plublicity then anything. I think its because its Lions Gate. I am just starting to get the plublicity now though. I have been getting fan letters and little e-mails which is so cool to me. I can remember dreaming about being a successful actor and wondering if I would ever get a fan letter. So its pretty cool to think my dreams are coming true. I love my fans. And I am so happy that people are enjoying my films. I know that there are alot of people that don't like my films and that is totally fine. Everyone has a right to there opinon.

5) What is the BEST of TOM on/off set ?
5) Well....I guess on the set..I love what I do and am usally always happy and love to help other actors when ever I can. I would just hope that I am easy to work with. Off the set....I guess I would say I have a good work ethic. My father always taught me to work hard...and thats really what it is. I believe in life you really have to work for what you want. I work hard and things are paying off and I must say that it is very rewarding to see my dreams coming true.

6) What is the WORST of The NAGELator on/off set ?
6)Well I guess on set I would say I am to hard on myself...I need to relax alittle....it relly hit me when I worked with Lance Henriksen and the first day he picked up on it and pulled me aside and said to relax. So latly it really has improved my acting I believe. Off set.....I stress to much....ha ha ha

7) Here's your chance…Finally,Tell us something deep and meaningful to remember you at the video stores or when ordering our Netflix ?
7) I love life. It has not always been easy but it sure is exciting. Its truly about the journey. My journey has been awsome so far. The bad and the good. And what makes me so excited is thinking abou the future and what it holds. I am not going anywhere and plan to do alot more films. This is what I love and I only hope that I can countinue to entertain and be a good role model to people in the future. I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes. "Set a goal so high that it CAN'T be reached....THEN REACH IT"

VINNIE BILANCIO

Mini Bio

I started vmovies about 6 years ago I wanted to help my acting career but lately I have more fun just making my own movies out of the Hollywood system. Dont get me wrong I would love the opportunity to do a big budget Sci Fi movie.

# Werewolf in a Women's Prison
# Robot Battle
# After Midnight
# Psychon Invaders
# Azira: Blood from the Sand ... aka Die Garage Band,Die
# Blood Gnome # Creepies # Deadly Scavengers # Witchcraft XI: Sisters in Blood # The Screaming # Eyes of the Werewolf # Camp Blood # "Babylon 5" # Sorority House Massacre

1) Vinnie,Are you having fun ?
Making movies is a blast for the most part it is fun, however there are elements that are not so fun like cleaning up blood from the studio for 2 hours after shooting 10.

2)The "Sorority House Massacre" cult is still going strong,Are you part of the next sequel ?
I always thought I should of come back from the first sorority house Massacre after all it was just a stab to the back. I only know of one sequel and I was not asked to be part of that one. I ran into the producer of S,H,M at Comic Con a few years back and he told me he was doing childrens animation.

3)"The Screaming"...Did L. Ron Hubbard's peeps ruin it's release ?
The screaming was realized by a company that was not doing to well so I do not think the movie got the attention it deserved and no the scientologist did not come after us.

4)You have "Killers Eroticus" coming soon from TROMA & "Azira" is ready for release,Any other news on recent films ?
The most recent movie by Vmovies is Werewolf in a Womens Prison directed by Jeff Leroy and executive produced by ME films. I hope to do well with this one I think its destined to be a cult classic.

5)What is the BEST of VINNIE On/Off the set ?
This sounds like a question for a dating service. The best on set. I think I keep a pretty fun set we dont get over dramatic, come on its just entertainment. I dont ask anybody to do anything I would not do, Thats why I am but naked in a movie called Ralphie ralphiethemovie.com The best off set I just try to be a decent human being.

6) What is the WORST of "The Vin" On/Off set ?
The worst on set if I dont eat I get cranky but someone just gives me a candy bar and its back to the best. Off set I can only type with 2 fingers.

7)"Babylon 5 " Only TV,or Big Budget for you ?
I have been in a few big budget movies The Alarmist with David Arquette and Stanley Tucci but that was a dont sneeze you might miss it but I had a few lines and I played myself they even used the name vinnie. Shoot or be Shot with Harry Hamlin and William Shatner thats been out sine 2004 I have a decent part in that one. I also did a movie with now famous for being in Lost Josh Holloway that movie is yet to be released.

8)I liked EYES OF THE WEREWOLF,Do you have a More Un-Pleasant production ?
If you mean unpleasant death scenes I would have to say Camp blood falling and hanging from a tree branch a big pain in the back.

9)Vinnie,What is the most fulfilling job you do ?
I still like acting the best and hope to be in a Sci Fi series some day.

10) Any quotable statement for the internet lurkers ?
What are they lurking for? Support indie filmmakers by independent

David A. Lloyd

Mini Bio:
David A. Lloyd was born in Kingston Ontario, but raised in Cobourg, and is the president of The Cousin Company Entertainment Group, a small and feral video production company located in Newmarket Ontario. David has a Diploma from Loyalist College in Television Broadcasting, The TSB School of Animation in Computer Animation with Alias/Wavefront. He also has experience with feature film production, cable and satellite television and the school of life. He was a contributing columnist to Distant Suns - Quarterly. The in-house Magazine of Another World Games & Comics where he wrote, among other things, about the history of Canadian comic book hero Captain Canuck. David was also the head writer/researcher for Antrim House InterActive located in Peterborough, Ontario. David now lives in Newmarket, Ontario. He is teaching himself how to dance with out much luck.

Q & A
1) David a pretty good year for you & The Cousin Company?
Yeah, 2006 has been a good year. The Legend of Viper's Hill has been getting some good notices, which we're all very proud of. The cast did an outstanding job. Norm and I couldn't have asked for a better bunch. Norm Scanlon, my cousin ,hence name Cousin Company -, is my partner in crime here. We starting shooting Super 8mm movies way back. I think the first thing we made was some sort of riff on The Blob featuring somebody crawling around under a fur coat. That would be back in '79,80? I can't remember. We've got some more stuff on the horizon too.

2) What's better, directing, or writing?
They are two very different animals, yet the same. Writing can be a long lonely journey that takes years before you become an overnight success. Directing can be best described as conducting an orchestra in a tornado. Both make you want to pull out your hair (I'm a perfect example of that). However both can be just as rewarding. Just taking something as precious as a vision, getting other people excited about it and then giving it to the world. I know that sounds cliched but that's how I feel. Not that I'm claming to have any special message for the masses or anything. I just want to tell stories that hopefully entertain people. Or piss people off, that's entertaining too.

3) "Legend of Vipers Hill", your film was critiqued by us before...Very well done sir, any chance it will be released in the states?
I hope so. I'm talking with some distributors right now. So here's hoping.

4) Your novel, Green Eyed Burn, how is it doing... Is a movie version possible?
Sales are steady. Slow is steady. I have some issues with the publisher which I cannot get into but there are royalty checks trickling in. Is a movie version possible? I'm glad you asked me that. If I have my way, You bet! Green Eyed Burn started out as a script that I shot on VHS between my first and second year of college with my friends. We started shooting a sequel but at that time everybody was getting on with their lives, myself included, and it was never finished. However I just couldn't let the story go so I started pounding it out on an old Underwood. I then had myself a novel. I'm currently working on a follow-up. But, yeah my goal is to get it on the big screen and I've had my eye on a particular actress for the lead for several years now. Got my fingers crossed.

5) That, Owl & Penquin, of yours are everywhere...WHY?
I'm sure a lot of people are asking that question. I'm sure they're also asking, Which one of you is the Owl and which one of you is the Penguin?

6) Your networking skills are notorious, What's your secret?
Cloning and lots and lots of coffee.

7) Any last words for your current and future fans?
Thanks for being there and I hope you stick around ,cause there's more to come.

ALBY CASTRO

Crushed
Snakes on a Train
The 911 Commission Report
The DaVinci Treasure
6:35/ Alma Provinciana/ La Vida Por un Rato De Placer/ Transporter 2

1)Snakes on a Train,Your breakthrough role ?
Yes. I can say that Snakes on a Train has put me on the radar. I have a lot yet to accomplish in my career. I want to be the first Costa Rican to win the Oscar for Best Actor. I want to bring an Oscar to the Hispanic community and I know Snakes on a Train obviously wont win the Oscar, however its me taking steps in the right direction. Snakes On A Train's publicity and Media craze has allowed me to book more projects and collaborate towards bigger things. In the role of "Brujo" from Snakes on a train - I did what I could with the time given, and although it may have opened some people's radar about me I hope that my next "breakthrough" role will allow me to reach into my acting range a little more. Snakes on a train allowed me to do some love scenes, some horror scenes and some fight scenes. It gave me an opportunity to show people I can go to those places but I want to show people I can do more than that. Thats why my next role is in a Comedy titled CRUSHED directed by James Cahill who Directed Iva Longoria 3 years ago.

2) You have a great myspace and website...Networking on internet,Has it made acting easier or harder ?
Thanks! Networking on the Internet .... easier or harder? Both! The Internet have made my career easier in terms of reaching large amounts of people with ease. Its great to be able to tell someone I meet to check out my website. Or when i'm doing a radio interview to say "visit www.albycastro.com" but show business is like any other business, there is competition. So its harder because Internet Networking is becoming more common place. I try to update my web page at least 3 times a week and myspace page on a daily basis. Reason being is you have to stay on top of the game with the Internet. Too many people are doing the same thing so you try to always be one step ahead. In this business no one is going to work for you. You may have agents or managers but the bottom line is you gotta fight for yourself and the Internet makes it a little bit easier.

3) Has anyone asked if you are an heir to FIDEL lineage...Like that John Goodman movie ?
I grew up in Miami, Florida. A place that is dominated by the Cuban population. Growing up I used to get the usual "How is uncle Fidel doing?" or "when are you going to take over Cuba?" and as a little kid it kinda bugged me. Everyone would assume I was Cuban because they associated my last name with Fidel. Then when they found out I was Costa Rican it was like I was a new person to them. Today I get a couple of Fidel jokes but I try to beat people to the punch with my catch phrase -- "Hi, i'm Alby Castro -- No relation."

4) What is the BEST of ALBY on/off set ?
I guess both on and off set my best feature is my ability to dance like Elvis Presley!!!! *Wink* That and my work ethic. I think the reason i've achieved things I wanted to achieve so far in my life is because of my work ethic. Instilled in me by my mother. I'll give you an example both on and off set. I grew up a basketball player -- Never the fastest, or tallest or strongest. But I worked. I dove on the floor for lose balls and got steals and got rebounds. And after getting cut from my JV basketball team I worked until I made the Varsity team and became team captain. On the set of Snakes on a train .... I auditioned for the Mallachi Brothers and Peter Mervis. One, two, three callbacks. Kept working at it. Finally got the role and the first day of shooting I lean over to Peter Mervis and say -- "You know I am petrified of Snakes." But I put my fear aside and would grab these snakes and yell at them and be face to face with the things. I wouldnt let my fear get in the way of my work; granted as soon as the Mallachi brothers would yell cut I would quickly hand the snakes to Daisy from the art department and back away from them 5-10 feet.

5) The WORST of ALBY on/off ?
I like to sing but I am not the best singer so if you're around when I break into song, on or off set, its not the most pleasant experience.... That and I get cranky when i'm hungry - on or off set.

6) Did you catch trouble on DAVINCI TREASURE ? You must KNOW you will for 911 Commission Report ?
You know I havent gotten in trouble for any role i've done YET. But if any thing will bring heat it will probably be the 911 commission. I mean what is the question here? Are we talking about playing the role of a middle eastern guy even though i'm not middle eastern? Or are we talking about playing the role of a terrorist? I've heard all the criticism. "You're not Arab" -- "Why would you play a Terrorist?" --- Everything but i'm an actor and I have to do the best with the roles I choose to accept. I try to bring truth and reality to the Characters. So if that means being a hated Terrorist in a film or helping C Thomas Howell escape the bad guys in another so be it. Now if we're talking about the film itself both DaVinci and 911 are touchy subjects. One is very religious and the other deals with the 911 events. But Movies are a means of communication and self expression -- 1st amendment rights. People will get mad because they're sensitive subjects but the bottom line is that movies carry messages. The 911 Commission Report a clearer, heavier message than say an action film like DaVinci but a message non the less. So my role in either movie or any movie I make in the future is to portray my character's message. In 911 my character is a known terrorist who is helping the CIA and loses his Wife and kids for it, coming himself within an inch of his life.

7) Parting shots ? Famous Last Words for Alby Castro/Theasylum fans ?
I would hope that these arent my Last words or my career is going to be very short lived. BUT for the purposes of this interview I will say this -- "What keeps you back is not who you are but what you think you are not."

I would also like to thank Sherri, David and David at Asylum, Whom I refer to as D.D.S.. The Mallachi Brothers and Peter Mervis for giving me an opportunity when others turned their back. Julia Ryanne Ruiz and the rest of the cast of Snakes on a Train for making this film everything its become. Thanks to everyone who supports SNAKES ON A TRAIN and has either watched it or is planing to watch it soon. And Thank you even if you have no intention of watching Snakes on a Train but took the time to read this. Thanks to my family and friends for their love and support. And most importantly thanks to God for giving me the health, determination and ability to work towards my goals. (This is the Oscar speech i've been working on by the way). Oh and lets not forget to thank the Disney Corporation cause God knows they own everything these days.
To Asylum fans, people interested in my career and Snake lovers world wide -- stay tuned to www.albycastro.com for upcoming films and events. (That was Internet networking and marketing at its finest!)

Demon Queen
1) You just finished DORM OF THE DEAD, Any feelings about it (Besides the huge debate of cover over at "retromediaforum.com") ?
It's definitely one of my three favorites of my movies, along with AN EROTIC VAMPIRE IN PARIS and COMPELLING EVIDENCE. Having Tiffany Shepis included kicked it up several notches, and there are several really great new actresses in it like Amy Owenby, Kristen Hall, Ciara Richards, Jackey Hall, and Adrianna Eder that I'd definitely like to use again in the future.

2) We plan on critiqueing DEMON QUEEN, What have you learned since then ?
DEMON QUEEN has many of the mistakes of a first movie. Trying to shoot the majority of it in two-and-a-half days was a recipe for disaster since there were so many time-consuming gore effects, the rigging and preparation for each one of them ground production to a halt several times and kep us from making the most production use of our time. On a more recent movie like BODY SHOP, I had some of the effects done as second unit shots when the key crew and actors weren't around, so it wouldn't cut into normal production hours. When effects shots are done as second unit, the cameraman and the effects guy can be by themselves and take all the time they want.
DEMON QUEEN also has the problem of letting the DP light all the shots according to his own whims with no input from me. I've learned to be very pro-active about lighting, and usually give a DP specific lighting set-ups to work with. Sometimes they can improve on my suggestions, but I want to give the DP a very well thought-out framework to build from.

3) The RED LIPS series seems to have legs as a cult, RED LIPS 4 ?
No, but I might do a novelization of the first one, especially since it's never going to be released on DVD since the MASTER disappeared after the producer's death.

4) So many title changes and spotty releases in US, Your take on this ?
Title changes only occur between production and release. Once a DVD is released, a specific title has been definitely settled on. Many of my movies were filmed under one title and released with another title, and that causes a little confusion is because www.imdb.com won't take the production title off their listings after a movie has been renamed. Some changes include THE STRIKE, which was shot under the title FIGHTING CHANCE, and AN EROTIC VAMPIRE IN PARIS, which was shot under the title VAMPIRE OF NOTRE DAME. It's almost always a distributor who calls for a title change, when they license your movie for a specific territory, the contract gives them authority to use whichever title they think will sell best.
And I'd say the majority of my movies have had good releases. MOGUL DISTRIBUTION gave DEMON QUEEN a very limited release, but since I rather dislike that movie, I didn't mind. CANNIBAL HOOKERS, SCREAM DREAM and VAMPIRE COP were all released in the days before BLOCKBUSTER came along to dominate the domestic video rental market, and their respective distributors did a great job in saturating the mom 'n pop video market that thrived in those days. Easily at least half the video stores or more that I checked had those three titles in the late 80's and early 90's. In 1988, Variety even had an article in their business section about the marketing success of CANNIBAL HOOKERS.
Now that Blockbuster and Hollywood Video are in every town, I've had two titles picked up by them nationwide - THE STRIKE in 2002 and BOLLYWOOD AND VINE earlier this year. AN EROTIC VAMPIRE IN PARIS was well released as a sell-through title in nearly all TOWER VIDEO, BEST BUY and SAM GOODY stores, to name a few. Last year a new label called BLUE LASER released DVDs of five of my movies (BATTLE FOR GLORY, COMPELLING EVIDENCE, DEADLY RUN, VICIOUS KISS, and DEMOLITION HIGHWAY) and also got them into Tower Video and Best Buy. Just saw my new titles RED LIPS: EAT THE LIVING and RED LIPS: BLOODLUST in Tower Video last week, and hear that the Hastings Video chain is also carrying it. And last year I finally cracked Walmart and Big K-Mart when both chains carried the three-pack VICIOUS VIXENS that includes VICIOUS KISS. Now I've been told that Walmart will also carry the two new RED LIPS titles in October as a Halloween DVD item.
Also, several of my movies are playing worldwide on television. BOLLYWOOD has been licensed to French and Canadian tv, British tv showed THE STRIKE just last month, and I just got a nice royalty check in the mail recently for tv shows of four other titles in Spain, Holland, and Germany. COMPELLING EVIDENCE with Brigitte Nielsen is my most successful title over all, though. It was licensed to about 30 countries, has played on tv all over the world (including CINEMAX), and it's so popular in Germany they're released it four separate times. . .once on video and three times in various DVD editions.

5) You've done a lot of genres,Do you have a favorite ? Does it affect your budgets ?
My favorite is always horror with an erotic twist. Budgets depend on whether you have investors involved and how much they may be putting it. Sometimes producers just want to mount their own productions, and use me as a director/writer-for-hire. The author of a Civil War novel hired me to turn his 300 page book into both a script and then a three hour movie (which was released in two parts), but I had a free hand in casting how I wanted. Usually producers will dictate things like how much nudity (if any) is to be in a movie. The producer of BLOOD AND HONOR wanted a PG film with no sex, the co-producer of my new movie DORM OF THE DEAD wanted only topless scenes, and the producer of COMPELLING EVIDENCE wanted nudity but no full frontal shots. The producers of AN EROTIC VAMPIRE IN PARIS and BODY SHOP had no restrictions. One review even complained that I put TOO MUCH nudity in BODY SHOP, but I was just basically seeing how much that producer would let me get away with. With the EROTIC VAMPIRE MOVIE, I was even told to shoot MORE nude lesbian scenes after my first cut was declared "too tame."

6) Any personal quirk or habit we can quote on the internet ?
I've very obsessive about my favorite movie theatres from the 60's and 70's, most of which are long gone. Nothing puts me in a sour mood faster than seeing the parking lot where the gorgeous art-deco Marhall Theatre in Tullahome once stood, or the overgrown lots that used to be the Manchester Drive-In (where I saw my first R-rated movie, 100 Rifles, back in 1969).

7) Myspace,What is your opinion ?
With my limited html knowledge, I love a site like myspace that makes designing a website so easy. And I've made many, many great contacts since I've had my pages there (www.myspace.com/donaldfarmer and www.myspace.com/dormofthedead)

" FAMOUS LAST WORDS" for your fans,or perhaps PARTS SHOTS to your critics ?
Most of the harsh reviews my movies have received are deserved, especially the trashing that DEMON QUEEN, SCREAM DREAM and SAVAGE VENGEANCE received. I think RED LIPS was my first movie to get generally good reviews, and the majority of reviews of AN EROTIC VAMPIRE IN PARIS were positive (some favorites are on the movie's page at www.amazon.co.uk), and BOLLYWOOD AND VINE even won an award at the Houston Worldfest last year. But I don't really object to most negative reviews - they're entertaining to read and just motiviate you to try harder next time.

DARRYL DONALD BALDWIN

That Epic Bad Guy !
Stuntman/Actor and Pro Wrestler.
I have been performing since 1990. I am The BAD GUY for Disney MGM Studios Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. I am the original Terminator for Universal Studios Florida T203D Battle Across Time. I have even been a Viking in a Japanese theme park. I have performed in movies, on TV and on stage in more roles as a Zombie, Cyborg, Shadow Killer and all around BAD GUY than you can shake a stick at!

Skeleton Stories(Discovery Channel)

All Wrapped Up

1) Perhaps the Universal Studios mention could use some explanation ?
- I have been performing at Disney MGM Studios since 1990. I originally started as the effects operator for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. My backround was in fireworks and stage effects. After a few years as a technician, watching what went into the performances and seeing what the audiences really liked, I got the chance to become THE BAD GUY! I went from blowing up Indy to BEATING up Indy! Universal Studios came immediatly out of that experience.
There are alot of cross-over performers between Disney and Universal. I was lucky enough to be selected to open the T2-3D show. I became Arnold's 'Stunt Double'. We trained for three months before the show opened. Towards the end of that three months, we were allowed into the venue to work with the effects. The performance integrates live actors, elaborate mechanical systems and effects, and a 3D movie, projected on three huge screens. The other performers started at 9 in the morning. I was working the AM shift at Epic and would come in at one in the afternoon. The systems were problematic and would take all morning long to get running. I would be the only guy sitting there in the afternoon, so I became the 'crash test dummy!' I performed that show for five years.

2) What is more fun being a good guy or bad guy ?
- I love the dynamics that being the BAD GUY allows. I am able to emote with all my ability. The Good Guy is bound by the laws of civility, whereas the BAD GUY can be...and is expected to be QUITE MAD!

3) Ever think of moving to California & Hollywood ?
- I would love the chance to work in Hollywood, however many of the productions are not centered in California. I'll go whever I am needed. Currently I am involved in several projects here in Florida. The next one is "The Terror Within" by Fear Films. I will play a Serial Killer with an artistic bent.

4) What is the Good about EpicBadGuy ?
- My origins are quite different from other actors. I am definately a working-class, truck driver of an actor. I get adrenalized for each and every performance. I act through my emotion. That motivates me to perform at a very high level. I carry that over to the meet-and-greets I do after every show. It's the best part of the show!

5) What is the Bad about EBG ?
- I have been performing for sixteen years. It definately takes a toll on my body. I work out five days a week--HARD workouts. I have to do this to keep my edge. I am fighting against guys that are half my age. The benefit is that I am a unique-looking individual. The good guys can't be good guys when they aren't pretty any more. BAD GUYS are all about being rough-and-tough and beat up around the edges!

6) Any things we should know about Blud,Terror With-in,Cross Roadz ?
- These projects are all low budget Indies. The three production companies are out there with dreams as big as Spielberg. The production values are low but the films are edgy. You can feel the hunger, the desire to tell their story. They are attaining their dreams.

7) Any famous words to leave with your fans ?
- People love the good guy, but they LOVE to HATE the BAD GUY! I create the good guy. Without me he's just some Normal Joe. The BADDER I am, the more heroic he is!

I have fun doing everything i do or I just wont do it. i literally love every aspect of this crazy biz. Some call me a workaholic... haha

2) The Soap Operas have a big audience,Still get fan-mail ?
Ever going back ?
I could not be more thankful for being involved in the soaps. I receive fan mail all the time and i do my best to answer everything, but it gets to be hard when I am shooting. I have had a few offers to go to several shows, but I am holding off, i am enjoying the film industry right now. eventually i will probably return to daytime dramas, but for now, look for me being a killer in many films... hehe

3) Doing alot of Sci-Fi and Horror,WHY ?
My love for horror goes way back, i just always have loved it, i remember watching MY BLOODY VALENTINE as a kid with my brother, we always watched a bunch of B horror movies, tons of respect goes out to filmmakers.

4) Worked with CHRIS WATSON on Zombiegeddon and Minds Of Terror,Which are both on DVD now...Any Juicy Stories ?
yes, Chris was actually one of the first people that welcomed me into horror, hes a great guy and we had fun shooting.

9) 'Dead Clowns' seems to be a cult film,Is this a good thang ?
The way i look at Film in general is it is all good. I am evil in that one.

10) Any last bits a wisdom from The Hardest Working Scream Queen in America,Nay the World ?
My advice as always is be gracious, be smart about the choices you make, and dont let anyone tell you, you suck. Anyone that takes the time and effort to put one down, obviously isnt succesful in their chosen field, because they should be more busy working on something than talking someone down. One more thing, thank you for taking the time to come up with the questions and to care about my career, things like that mean alot to me, thats what makes me love the business:)

GERARD CHRISTIAN ZACHER

Spent Years Working For Disneyland Where I Had Been Built Up To Play Peter Pan. I Among Many Other Things There, I Also Worked The "World-Famous Jungle Cruise" Attraction. I Later Left The Comfort Of Disneyland To Get More Directly Involved In The Entertainment Industry As I Had Planned From Childhood. I Co-Host Haunted Hollywood Tours As Hollywood Blvd Freddy, And Entertain THe Hollywood Public As A Variety Of Other Film Character Look-Alikes. I've Had The Pleasure Of Meeting Robert Englund (The "Nightmare On Elm Stree Film Series' Freddy Krueger) And Getting His Personal Blessing As Hollywood Blvd Freddy.
1)Is it true " Any publicity ,is Good publicity ?"
NOT all publicity is good publicity. The police and the press, before getting ANY accurate information whatsoever, dragged my name and the character name through the mud - making me sound like some horrible, evil lunatic. The truth was that I was the victim of this guy who was assualting many other people - including trying to kill small children by trying to push them off the sidewalk into the oncoming traffic in the street( Thankfully, he did not succeed!) The whole thing was an accident. He ran INTO the costume prop HIMSELF while attacking ME, and the only reason it injured him at ALL was because of his aggressive rushing. I felt completely humiliated. So, no, I do not believe that any publicity is good publicity.

2)Why do you feel FREDDY KRUEGER(sp.?) from Nightmare On Elm Street is your most popular character ?
Freddy is my most popular character because of how many photo requests I get and the enthusiasm I get approached with as the character, and the compliments I get daily on my make-up job and costume authenticity. My other characters do very well, too, but Freddy definately seems to be the favorite so far. Beetlejuice is first runner-up.

3) Introduce us to the Scaracters(c) ...
(For the "Scaracter' introductions, since I have limited time here at this public internet cafe right now, you have my permission to use anything you like from the following website:
http://hollywoodscaracters.tripod.com

4)Fright Squad or Fright Force...Can monsters be patriotic since 9/11 ?
As for 911, I'd say that film monsters are nowhere near the REAL monsters that terrorists are!

5) What is the BEST of Gerard ?
The "best" of me...as far as character work goes, you mean? Well, I am a method actor and I put my all into becoming the characters I portay (while still being public-safe and friendly, of course). It really lights me up. I've developed a knaxck for being able to transform myself physically into the character as well as getting the characters personality. I have great fun, and, thusly, I get others around me to have fun, too.

6)...Then we have to ask,the WORST of you ?
The "worst" of me...as far as the character world goes...I can be overly critical sometimes if I see others who do not put enough effort into the characters, be it effort in actually LOOKING like the characters, DRESSING like the characters, and ACTING like the characters. I'm also very critical of those who are not out there for the art of it, but just to make a quick buck. hate it when I see these characters in shabby costumes pestering people into photos because they KNOW their costumes are bad and that people won't go to them VOLUNTARILY on their own. All this just to get as much money out of people as they can get. That bothers to me to no end.

7)Famous last words for the fans ?
Words for fans...Don't settle! Go for your dreams! I quote Frank "N' Furter from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" "Don't Dream It...Be It"! That really sums up my feelings. Never give up! Make yourself happy and fulfilled. Have all the fun you can (as long as it doresn't harm others) And help others along the way.

1)You've been working on some high profile movies,Have you MADE it ?
I don't think I've MADE it since there is so much I have to do. I really believe it's about the journey. I've been fortunate to make some inroads with my beginning efforts and blessed to have worked with some great, cool genre vets. I'm going to create mayhem and turn Hollwood inside out.

2) Whats in your DVD player ?
What CD is getting worn out by you ?
Currently in the dvd player is 'Dracula's Curse' by The Asylum (they've been putting out some interesting stuff). In the CD palyer, the soundtrack for 'Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth' (puts ya in the mood to think up ways to kill people).

3) Why the name change for Miners Massacre ?
Did the NFL team make a noise ?
I wrote 'Miner's Massacre' using my given name (Antonio Olivas) but after that, for personal and professional reasons, decided to use Tyger (my child hood name, as in Tony the Tiger) and Torrez (my Grandmother's maiden name). The horror creature in the movie is the evil Forty Niner who comes back from the dead to curse anyone who finds his gold. (The original film title was 'Curse of the Forty Niner.' NFL probably didn't know anything about it; title change was done by the Distuributor.)

4)Do you have FRIGHT CLUB out ?
'Fright Club' is now out, distributed by Maverick Entertainment, available at your local video store and at Blockbuster and Hollywood Video.

5)Your strength seems writing,Is that your goal or what do you prefer ?
I love writing, creating new worlds and characters, but also love directing and working with actors. That's the rush for me. I wish I was more proficient in editing. I hate post. Since I don't (currently) edit, it drives me crazy to sit around, waiting for things to render/be cut; I'm very hands on, but don't feel the need to do everything. I'm not a control freak. I believe in everyone doing the job that brought them to the dance.

6) The tattoos are a trademark of yours,What does Antonio Olivas think of them ?
I'm an Ink Freak. I'm covered with tattoos (even on my face) and I write. Ink is definitely in my blood. Some might think I'm crazy. I'm just comfortable in my own skin (thick to withstand the pain- and bad reviews)! Folks may be put off initially but once they talk to me they see I don't bite (much).

7) Seem kind of intense,What is the BEST on/off the set of TT ?
I'm pretty easy going (as long as I get the shot). But I was in the military so I know how to take charge to get things done. My tunnel vision to get projects done is a blessing and a curse. When I write, I go into a cave and don't come out until I've met my deadline, so sometimes I need to get outside more to smell the roses. I've been told there's more to life than filmmaking (but what do they know)...?

8) The other side is what is the WORST thing youve over heard ?
The worst thing I've overheard on my set? It's not the worst thing I've overheard but it's the worst thing that's happened - an actor not showing up. This happened on 'Halloweenie' (my early scary movie done BEFORE 'Scary Movie') so you see me (pre-tattoos) playing the Police Saregent. You gotta do what you gotta do.

9)Personal Quirk & or Habit we can quote on the internet ?
I'm a dvd fiend. I watch at least two to three a week as much as possible. I studied film at Los Angeles City College, and was a Theater Arts Major at UCLA, but dvd's are my education. That and reading scripts. I enjoy learning.

10)Last words for the new fans of HollyHOOD ?
'Fright Club' is my first forray into my self-imposed niche, multi-cultural genre (horror, sci-fi, exploitation). The story: three friends must tell scary stories to join an exclusive 'Fright Club'. The three shorts are 'Little Red Riding in the Hood' (a Latino werewolf), 'The Boy Who Cried Vamp' (Black vampires) and 'Spare Parts' (Asian Frakenstein). The film reflects my personal philosophy ('One Luv 4 All' - tattooed on my knuckles). I believe it gives 'color' and 'flavor' and can only help a genre where it's increasingly difficult to do something new. In development are 'Hood Rat' (science goes wrong; a giant Rat gets loose in the hood) and 'El Diablo, the Devil Doll' (a Latino Chucky). HollyHOOD happens to be the name of our multi-cultural genre label so this interview is prophetic and bodes well (for us and the genre world).
THANKS

PHIL HERMAN /FALCON VIDEO LTD
http://www.geocities.com/pharmpon/Falconvideo.html

Being around for over a decade making quality horror movies.
To date they have produced 6 movies and are available through mail order and conventions only.
They have made famous such stars as Debbie D. They work all the time with Cult icon Joel D. Wynkoop.
Phil Herman the Ring Leader made this quote about Falcon and how it all started,"I always loved movies since as far back as I can remember.
What was unusual though is that I not only liked all types of movies (Horror was my favorite) I always wondered how they did that? And oh cool shot.
I was amazed with any shows that had behind the scenes and the making of type of shows.
Then came along the 70's slasher flicks and I said "Hey I can do that."
So for my 14th birthday I was given a video camera and no one was safe in my neighborhood.
All movies were about 30 minutes of my friends and neighbors getting killed by masked killers on the block I lived.
Karo syrup, red food dye, raw meat and fake limbs were everywere.
But we wanted to do a feature, that should be easy.............
Since then they have made,"Burglar From Hell", "Arena of Death", Jacker 1 and 2", "Tales Till The End", and "Horrortales.666".
Look for more coming soon.

1) You've been doing these movies for a while, A life lesson learned?

Low budget indy movies are a tough sell. I have been doing them for almost 2 decades and have found out that it is along road to stardom. I have met tons of people and met dozens of people in the business that I can call friends. Joel D. Wynkoop (Creep, The Bite) Ryan Cavilline (Serial Killer) and many more.
You will never get rich making underground movies unless your discovered.
We have gained cult status and I can say I am proud of our status that people actually know who we are.

2)What is your favorite movie of yours?

My favorite movie of ours is The Jacker series. About a car jacker in NY on a bloody rampage.
These movies were the cheapest to make and have gained us our notary and still generates money for us.
We have been trying to do a sequel for years and other companies have approached us to continue the series but nothing has happened so far. else's movie (& why?) Joel D. Wynkoop Lost Faith was always an inspiration and something to follow in my path to making movies. It was like a hand book and had a hidden meaning to me.
To keep going and following my dream and don't lose faith. I have know Joel for over 10 years and he has been there for the good and bad. We have both went through hell and are like brothers that can always depend on each other.
We always help each other with our projects and film and tape segments for each over always.

3)I think its been some time between your earlier movies and the Midnight Films, Right?

We always try to come out with at least a movie a year.
To makes sure of that we have been involved in numerous compilation tapes that involve other filmmakers but is produced and put out by Falcon.
It started with Ryan Cavalline in Tales for the Midnight Hour and then continued with Horrortales.666, Before I die, Around Midnight and after Midnight.
The success of those have lead to the unreleased but soon to be released Always Midnight!
So I guess before we started that there was a lapse of maybe 5 years from the last official release until the anthologies started. These anthologies have made us more aware of other Indies out there an how much they are dedicated to there art.
It is such a shame that every one of these people are not out there making movies for Hollywood.

4)The financial picture aside, Is it still fun to make movies for a certain Fan?

Yeah financial aside our fans have come to see beautiful ladies and they get them in these features.
I don't think were exploiting I think these are beautiful women and there is nothing wrong with showing there beauty. Big Hollywood movies have big special FX and star names.
We have boobies. Doesn't make us bad people just dedicated to pleasing our fans.

5) A personal quirk or habit we can quote?

Everyone must take a shower in our movies!

6) The DVD vs. disappearing VHS you ready to adjust?

It has been a problem, I am old fashioned and was the last person to go DVD. Up until this year all our releases have been on VHS, but now little by little they are available on DVD!
I feel like a sell out but this is what everyone wants so I had to do it!

7)Who does your covers?

I lay them out and individuals assemble My Buddy Andrew from Gonoriffic has the Midnight series and does great work!
Our covergirls is what makes the covers a great selling point and draws attention to the fans!

8) The BEST about Phil?

I always try to get everyone noticed in interviews reviews and in the movies Even the smallest parts get recognized in the credits with plugs of there sites and products I may help out to much sometimes and feel it goes unnoticed.
I have done a lot of things for people through my movies and never hear from a majority of them in the future. But a lot of them are fly by nights that are really not in the business they just get the bug and fizz out. I sometimes feel bad cause I truly go out for everyone and just want to hear thanks once in a while...Oh well.
It is thanks enough that I get interviewed by fine interviewers like yourself, that is worth the trip!

9)The WORST about Phil?

To hard on myself and feel that I would do anything for anyone and expect the same in return!

10) Final thoughts for the 'Falcon Fans'

I am in Hiatus now but have two movies coming out "Always Midnight" and "Sleepwalker Stranglers" from Wave.
I have been writing and looking to act and direct features under a new company.
I need to reach that next level of making movies.
I am shopping around a script for overseas distribution called "Into The Woods".
I love my fans reactions and still the e-mails and fan letters I get for my movies after all these years.
I plan on releasing a few more movies for this year and never know about that rumored jacker sequel.
As long as my fans keep requesting I will keep on creating!
Thanks you so much for the time and featuring me in your column!

1) Okay, No copping out on the questions, Mista S?
Which is your favorite of your films ?
Why ?
*(Ours are Beast Of Bray Road, very original secret to plot/King Of The Lost World, Bruce Boxleitner and Rhett Giles never rocked more/Dracula's Curse, just flows, Total Ride to nirvana for Shot On Video fan).

DRACULA'S CURSE, ALTHOUGH FRANKENSTEIN REBORN RUNS A CLOSE SECOND. DRACULA'S CURSE IS LIKE MY STAR WARS.
THE STORY IS GOING TO CONTINUE, WITH HOPEFULLY MORE MOVIES, BUT AT THE VERY LEAST AS A COMIC BOOK, VIDEO GAME OR ONLINE SERIAL!

2) Happy with the special effects/make-ups in your movies ?

I'VE WORKED WITH SOME GREAT GUYS. ALMOST HUMAN, WHO DID THE EFFECTS FOR DRACULA, ARE GREAT.
SUPER PROFESSIONAL AND VERY HIGH END.
THE RESULTS ARE SPECTACULAR.
I ALSO REALLY LIKE THE WORK OF DAN KAPLAN AND DIZZWORKS DESIGNS ON FRANKENSTEIN REBORN AND BEAST OF BRAY ROAD.
THE OTHER FILMS HAVE BEEN HIT AND MISS.
IT'S NOT EASY TO DO CONVINCING MAKE-UP OR CGI ON OUR SCHEDULES AND BUDGETS, BUT SOMEHOW, THOSE TWO GUYS I MENTIONED MANAGED TO PULL IT OFF.

3) Feel like apologizing for any film ?
*(We thought Exorcism and Hillside went too far?)

HILLSIDE CANNIBALS. THE FILM WAS KINDA THROWN AT ME TO DO AND I NEVER REALLY EMBRACED IT AS MY OWN.
I'M A BIG CHARACTER GUY.
I LIKE COMPLEX AND DETAILED STORIES WITH TONS OF DISTINCT PERSONALITIES.
HILLSIDE CANNIBALS DIDN'T HAVE THAT.
IT WAS REALLY JUST ABOUT THE GORE AND VIOLENCE, AND WHILE I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM MAKING FILMS WITH THOSE ELEMENTS, IT SHOULDN'T BE THE ONLY THING IN THE MOVIE.

4) Do you have any sales numbers for your films ?
Which is most popular,By audience response ?

WELL, THE BEST TWO RESPONSES I'VE HAD FROM THE CRITICS HAVE BEEN FOR FRANKENSTEIN AND DRACULA'S CURSE.
BRAY ROAD GOT PRETTY GOOD REVIEWS AND IT'S THE HIGHEST RANKED OF MY FILMS ON IMDB.
FROM WHAT I KNOW, HILLSIDE CANNIBALS IS THE BIGGEST BOX OFFICE OF THE BUNCH, BUT DRACULA HASN'T COME OUT YET.

5) Why do you do most of Theasylum films ?

I'M JUST THE IN HOUSE GUY. MOVING AT THE PACE THAT THEY DO, ITS DIFFICULT TO INTERVIEW NEW FILMMAKERS AND DEVELOP SCRIPTS.
PETER MERVIS AND I JUST GET WHAT THE ASYLUM DOES AND ENJOY DOING IT, SO IT'S A PERFECT MATCH FOR THEM TO GO TO US.

6) Which is easier writing or directing ?

I ENJOY THEM BOTH.
DIRECTING IS EASIER BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE INPUT FROM THE CAST AND CREW TO HELP YOU OUT.
WRITING GETS A LITTLE SCARY. SOMETIMES I JUST SIT THERE, STARING AT THE EMPTY PAGE AND THAT BLINKING LITTLE CURSOR.
IT TAUNTS ME.
SAYING "LEIGH, WRITE SOMETHING COOL". SOMETIMES, YOU JUST CAN'T.
THE DOWNSIDE TO DIRECTING IS THAT YOU HAVE TO SHOOT, EVEN IF YOU'RE HAVING AN OFF CREATIVE DAY.
Actors/actress,a favorite ?

I ENJOY WORKING WITH ALLL THE "REGULARS".
I'VE FOUGHT REALLY HARD TO KEEP USING THE SAME TALENT BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN ALL OF THEM AND THEY GET THE DRILL.
SOMETIMES BRINGING NEW PEOPLE INTO THE MIX IS RISKY.
WE'VE DEVELOPED A BIT OF AN OLD HOLLYWOOD STUDIO SYSTEM.
WE CAST SOMEONE IN A SUPPORTING ROLE, SEE HOW THEY DO, THEN BUMP THEM UP TO A LEAD.
BUT IF YOU ASK ME, THE FUTURE A-LIST ACTORS AREN'T ON THE WB THEY'RE IN MY ASYLUM FILMS!
7) Last words ?,This is your chance to Right The World
FIRST OFF, I WANT TO TELL ALL THOSE TROLLS ON THE INTERNET THAT YOU DON'T WORK FOR US! PEOPLE HAVE CLAIMED THAT YOU'RE ON THE PAYROLL SOME OF YOUR REVIEWS HAVE BEEN SO COMPLEMENTARY.
SECOND, I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW HOW TOUGH IT IS TO MAKE THESE FILMS. EACH ONE IS A DIFFICULT ADVENTURE/JOURNEY. SOMETIMES WE HIT IT AND HIT IT BIG.
OTHER TIMES, NOT SO MUCH.
UNFORTUNATELY WE CAN'T SIT WITH THE AUDIENCE AND EXPLAIN THINGS IN THE FINAL FILMS THAT ARE DUE TO STRANGE ON SET CIRCUMSTANCES.
I CAN'T GO TO EVERYONE'S HOUSE AND SAY "YEAH, I KNOW IT FEELS LIKE A SCENE IS MISSING, WE DIDN'T SHOOT IT BECAUSE WE LOST OUR LOCATION THE DAY BEFORE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO SHOOT IT." ORSON WELLS ONCE SAID THAT MAKING A MOVIE WAS THE HARDEST THING A HUMAN BEING COULD DO, MAKING A GOOD MOVIE REQUIRED AN ACT OF GOD.
HE'S NOT WRONG!

1)Explain THE NARROW ROAD / THE WIDE ROAD / MIA 10 ?

The original short was project that me and my son Lee who is a film student, we created as a spoof of the Missing In Action films, it was for a short contest to parody a famous movie. The film seemed that there could be a more serious message to it, so we were inspired to make two more shorts out of what we had and also went back to shoot more scenes.
The end result was The Narrow Road & The Wide Road, these show what happens when a lost soldier searching for a path to follow.
Each films shows the result of the choice you make and what happens at the end of the road.

2)The resemblance to Chuck Norris ?
Good/Bad ?

The resemblance to Chuck has good and bad side to it due to the fact that it helped me get in the door and started into films is the good part, but being typecast has its downside.
So in the past few years a have tried to expand to different roles by sometimes changing the length and color of my hair, I use to get some auditions just because they saw my headshot and wanted to see what I looked like in person but they actually wanted some real old Gabby Hayes looking cowboy instead, that was kinda a pain but they may remember you for something that comes up later on.
The ture is that it gets me noticed and in the door more than it hurts me.
I still want to be my own self as an actor and be flexable to what the part needs

3) Tell us as much as possible about your new movie,Working with anybody fans know ?

I will be starring in a cool type of horror film that is in my opinion going to be a real popular DVD release or if it gets enough buzz, maybe theaters you never know.
Even though it is a low budget project the people behind this have major talent in many parts of making a good film that is worth watching.
I am not able to give away too much about this film yet, but a few intresting things are the unique locations one of which is the major focal point of the film.
There is no big name stars in it, but the story line and different look of the locations will set this film apart from other horror flicks.
Also in a way there are stars in it that are not people but people will want to see them anyway. I think this film will be the type that people will want to watch 2 or 3 times a least even if its just to see everything even the background. Wish I could give more details on it but I can`t yet.
Filming should start in late Aug or early Sept. The details will come out when production starts on it

4)Car wrangling for movies and TV ,Tell us more ?

I have been wrangling cars for a number of years and have helped out on alot of projects, even as recent as a month ago for a short film called DEAD & FLOATING IN THREE RIVERS, they needed an old convertible for a young couple to make out in and then bad things start to happen.
The biggest job was for the movie LOVE [2002] in which half of the scenes take place in 1963 so I had to fill up a couple of blocks in a small town with cars parked and driving around, plus I also had an old late 50s buick police car there too, They needed the lead actresses car to come fishtailing around the corner and drive all crazy down the street, she was suppose to be looking for her father to kill him. So I did the stunt driving for that.
I have been a stuntman for a number of years and belong to a company called STUNT TEAM.
Another big car job was for John Cougar Mellencamp`s last muisic video back in 2004 called WALK TALL, they needed old 50s & early 60s cars & pickups to set the scene of a small farm town in the south in the 60s racial turbulence.
It filmed in Hanford CA.
Now I just keep a data base of some cars and who owns them in case a film production comes to the Central Calif area, I am listed with the Fresno county Film Commision, I also collect TV & Movie replica cars, these are all copies [ look a likes ] here is a list of my collection.

5)Personal quirk or habit ,we can quote ?

I can`t think of any interesting quirk or habit.
The thing I get a kick out out is helping fellow actors get work, I am not an agent but when I hear about someting that I know they fit, I go out of my way to see that they go for the part and give it there best shot.
So far I have helped friends get parts in movies & television, some even got the lead. Also got friends parts in music videos, commercials and lots of extra work, It is a blast to see how happy they are that they got the part and you helped out.
I think thats what the BIZ is all about.

6) Seen THE CUTTER ?

What is Chuck,Mike or Aaron Norris up to ?

I have not seen THE CUTTER yet.
I am going to pick a copy of when I get can ever a chance, I am real glad chuck went back in to making films again, I know he is older now but for his age 66 he is in great shape.

The last time I worked with him was back in 2000, but the last time I saw Chuck & Gena was at a campain fund raiser for Alan [Bubba] Autry`s run for Mayor of Fresno. He is a super nice person to know and work for and they all seem to be a very close knitt loving family

7)Any last comments to leave with your fans,Plug your myspace ?

I think that it would be a great world if we can all be fans of each other because it is a small world we live in and if we care about the other guys dreams too and helping them reach it.
Think what a cool place this would be, so everyone follow your dreams and never think that you can`t do it because you can and you also can help others reach theirs also big or small.
GO FOR IT !

ARI BAVEL,"That ZOMBIEGEDDON COP"

ARI BAVEL MySpace Site

Ari Bavel has appeared in over 20 film and television roles.
Most notable is his acclaimed performance as the crazed cop, Cage, in 'Zombiegeddon', a star studded send-up of the classic zombie film. Ari can also be seen in an Award-Winning short, 'The Truth' soon to appear on ifilm.com.
This film was judged First Place in the IFC One-Page Script competition by Indie Film Mega-guru Chris Gore.
Ari also has cameos in 'Song of the Dead' starring Reggie Bannister and 'Xeline' starring Brinke Stevens. Ari is currently working on 'The Empty Acre', by Award-Winning director Patrick Rea.

1) So,You play Cops and Zombies...What could possibly have inspired this direction in your youth ?

Well, it might have been that time I did the classic, "I want a drink of water" routine as a boy, and my folks were watching some scary flick in which a Mummy got set on fire and ran down the hall at me ...

2) Ari,The distribution angle is it working ?

Distribution is tough.
You gotta have product, and promotions, and both cost money.
My production "empire" is pretty much extinct.

3) Mr. Bavel,You stole the scene on Zombiegeddon with lots of stars around you...
What would they say was the BEST about you ?

Well, first, thank you for the compliment.
I never mean to steal anything, just work hard to do the best I can and to give my scene partner the most I can.
What would THEY say about me? I hope that I'm a professional and that I make the work fun and meaningful.

4) So many movies,What could possibly be the WORST on set/off?

Well, there was the time a candelabra fell on my head when I opened the door. That would probably be the worst on set incident.
Off set?
Any "major" film in which you're stuck in extra-holding all day.
You can't leave because the set manager doesn't want to have to chase you down, but you know you're not gonna be needed for another 5 hours.
Really sucko. And for minimum wage, too.

5) Something about you maybe being a teacher,Did a student ever see one of your films ?

Yeah, I was a high school Math teacher for 17 years.
Sure they saw my movies, sometimes I even showed them in class. With the sound down, of course.

6) Todd Sheets,in one sentence ?__________________

The Master of Low Budget Gore effects.
Chris Watson, also in one sentence ?_________________

The Mistress of Low Budget ... No, seriously: Chris is a great guy who loves everything about movies, although he likes the actors least.
7) Any personal quirk or habit,We could quote on the internet ?

Pick-n-flick

8) Any chance California is in your future ?

YES!

9) Have you ever directed ?
Written a screenplay ?

Yes to both.
Not a feature yet, but that day isn't far off.

10) Famous last words ???

"Whatdya mean the shrimp isn't fresh?"

Thanks,
Ari Bavel
