Baron Wasteland (1fiffy6.wad) Resident Expert of Leominster  a.k.a. REoL November 18, 1994 Random structure, random texturing, overpopulated, bad action, and a crappy MIDI of "Enter Sandman".  2/5
Satan's Castle II (1fiffy7.wad) Resident Expert of Leominster  a.k.a. REoL January 24, 1995
Retarded sounds, crappy graphics, and a mediocre song are included here. But the level itself isn't horrible. The beginning area is nice, and the gothic theme is kept in some parts. But in others he just goes off on a tangent. The action is okay.

Satan's School of Warfare (1fifwar3.wad) Resident Expert of Leominster  a.k.a. REoL September 21, 1994
Big rooms full of ammo, lots of monsters, boring gameplay. The theme is somewhat E1, if I recall correctly. The MIDI "Another Brick in the Wall" is pretty nice, but too damn soft.

#1Kill (1kill.wad) Angelo Jefferson May 25, 1997 [not sure about that date]
Fun E2 replacement. The theme is either E2 (with the Hellish parts being E4 style) or total E4 wood/marble/metal gothic style. The levels start out small, and get bigger as you go, with the last two being large, and there's usually a nice secret or two in each level. The detail is id Software quality. I had a lot of fun playing this. The only part it really dragged was a variation on ye olde elevator maze in E2M6. Also in E2M6, check behind a switch you already hit to avoid getting stuck. If you hated E4, you'll probably want to stay away, but everyone else should try this WAD.

Extra (1killxtr.wad) Angel Jefferson May 24, 1997 [not sure about that date]
The idea seems to be a base that was transported to Hell, so the theme is mostly gray on the interior and marble gothic on the outside. It's a pretty fun, short WAD. Try it, you might like it.

Poisonous Prison, or Get Poised (1pois1.wad) Jon Landis September 26, 1994
This is a short, more-or-less randomly textured level. Its got a little bit of puzzle element to it, but nothing too tough. Action is actually pretty tough throughout. The new music, a kinda 80s-ish techy rock tune, is kinda cool. Overall though, forgettable.

The Beginnings (1stlevel.wad) Zeddicus 4 May 27, 1996
The author warns us that these were his first levels and that they were pretty crappy, and that he only uploaded them to achieve immortality on the FTP servers. Well, he's right about the crappy part. The first two are E1 themed, the last three a mix of E1 and gothic marble theme, and they're all pretty short. Since they're all pretty different, I'll review each level separately.
E1M1-A crappy remake of E1M4 that I had to all-map 30 seconds in to find a stupid hidden door with no clues. 1/5 E1M2-Randomly structured, kinda boring. 2/5 E1M3-Has a bunch of stupid hidden doors you need to all-map to find. 1/5 E1M4-Has a bunch of Cyberdemons you can't see. 1/5 E1M5-A bland, small arena with no exit. 2/5 Overall- 1/5
1sttry Dan Buckley July 20, 1994
Large, open, bad, architecture; too little ammo and health for the first half; horribly aligned and very random texturing: typical first level. Still, its not as bad as a lot of other first levels out there, and I did make me go, Heh, in a few spots. But, unless you really have nothing to do, you should probably just skip it.

I played this in the Maximum files. The level is arranged around six courtyard/garden things, with a bunch of interconnecting hallways. The structure is random and the texturing is too, if I recall correctly. It's also pretty boring. Maximum veterans only, methinks.

21 Crossfire, v 1.0 (21JPXFIR.wad) Joe E. Powell September 9, 1994
Random structure, random texturing, bad action. To be fair it is meant for Deathmatch.

Rat in a Maze (21ratmaz.wad) David Priddy September 4, 1994
A large, boring, gray maze. I stopped playing after about 2 minutes. Unless you really like mazes, you'll want to pass this one up.

Escape from 22Ventry (22Ventry.wad) David J. Singer August 2, 1995
We have here an interesting WAD. It has some new sprites, which are pictures of people that don't suck as much as you might expect, and some new sounds, which basically suck. (But keep 'em in anyway, they add flavor.) It also has some new textures, some of which suck, but there is one that's pretty neat. New music is an organ piece from J. S. Bach. It's randomly structured design-wise, but not badly; there are shortcuts included which cut down on your backtracking time. Unfortunately there isn't much in the way of interesting architecture. The dungeon area is marble themed, and there's some tech-ish areas too. Gameplay is alright. Overall, it's an interesting level from times long past, and unless you hate old-school design, you might just want to check it out.

23Castle Aaron Auseth March 28, 1994
It's E2M3, by the way. Well, it's the author's first level, and it shows. It's a mainly E1 textured castle. The design is bad and totally random, texturing is crap in some places, some walls are 2D, and the action sucks. Oh, and I think this was in the Maximum levels.

2BAD Tom Petrillo October 4, 1994
I believe Ive played this before. This is a smallish E1 level, with a consistent GSTONE/GRAY texturing, which is a little boring as a result. Design is wide and architecture is somewhat interesting. Action is pretty good, with lots of snipers. Nostalgia hunters should enjoy this.

2Bosses Martin Titz August 21, 1994
Now this is a pretty interesting wad. The scale of its rooms is huge-but unfortunately under-detailed. It's a "base", and employs basically all of the base texturing styles, mainly E1. The action is good. I enjoyed this level a lot, and I feel its large scale gives it a unique feel. I know rating this is gonna be touchy, but I give it a
4/5.
2 Hell & Back (2hell.wad) Dean Dickinson May 25, 1996
This is the very beginning of a level, an elevator to Hell. Obviously never finished. It's somewhat neat, so if you're bored check it out.
