LEADERS

The leaders are the people who make everything you've read about on the previous pages happen. Without the volunteers who run the weekly meetings and organise the camps and pack holidays Guiding couldn't exist in its current form.

New Leaders Wanted !!

Guiding has both warranted leaders and unit helpers. As a district we are currently looking for leaders to join existing unit teams for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in addition to leaders to run a Rainbow Unit.

What do you gain from being a leader ?

Being a leader is a very rewarding experience, both through the friendship, fun and opportunities available to you as an individual and through helping the girls to reach their potential and seeing them develop. Through Leeds County and nationally adults have the opportunity to develop their skills through training sessions. These can cover a range from first aid, crafts, and disability awareness through to adventurous activities such as walking, climbing and archery. There is a mentoring scheme for new leaders so that you have personal support from an experienced leader as well as your own unit and District team.

What do leaders do ?

Provide a safe girl only environment for young people to work together, play games, learn new skills and take part in a variety of activities.
