�Put your hand in the air.� Cyprus instructed, and Selene obeyed. �No no, the one with the ring! Now, repeat after me: Gemini Star Power��
�Gemini Star Power�Make up!� Selene finished the line on her own as the ring burst to life.
The purple symbol on the ring shown on black behind her as Selene�s body was hidden in a purple light. The purple streaks in her hair glowed with the same light, and the whole wave of it blew around her body as she held both arms straight out. When the hair blew away she was wearing the black bodysuit, black-stared purple sailor�s collar, short purple-with-black-stars skirt, purple bow with the black star broach and the purple chocker and black star gem. From under the skirt came ribbons that wrapped around her legs and feet, flashing away to create the short black boots. From the sleeves came more ribbons, tying around her hands to create the elbow-length black gloves. A glow of purple from her forehead spread and cleared into the silver tiara with the purple gem in the very center.
Just above her in the air, the long handled, black scythe appeared from the middle out, looking like a ghost before flashing solid. She grabbed it and the transformation was complete.
�Excellent�� Cyprus whispered. �Now, let�s go!�
�Right!� Gemini jumped forward.
Cassie ran out the door to her apartment. There was no sign of Selene, but she did see the mud monster across the street. He was spewing mud everywhere, knocking people down a blubbering to himself. �Yummy yummy.� he was mumbling. �Yummy energy. Me wants more!�
�Energy�?� Cassie asked outloud, then cupped her hands over her mouth.
The monster turned at her voice and glared. He licked his lips when he saw the blonde-haired girl. �Yousa haves lots of yummy energies. Me wants more!�
�Hold it.�
Cassie and the mud creature both stopped. A girl stood there, with long, black-streaked purple hair and dressed in an odd purple and black outfit. A large, black bird flew over her head, cawing wildly.
�If you want a fight, try me!� she exclaimed, gripping a black-poled scythe that was as tall as she was.
The monster licked his lips. �Mm�Strangely energy you haves. Looks tasty� Mesa wants it lots!�
�Who�?� Cassie gasped.
Gemini thought a moment, then her body slowly moved on its own as she remembered something from the long past. She planted the end of the staff into the ground in front of her, holding it with both hands with her head bowed and eyes closed.
�Even the moon has a dark side.� she said evenly and calmly, lifting her head up and opening her bright purple eyes. �And that is I, Sailor Gemini, Zodiac Scout of Death, here to lead you to the grave.�
�Sailor�Gemini?� Cassie asked herself, confused. �What the heck is going on here?�
The mud monster struck forward with a heavy punch. Gemini leapt out of the way and his hand splattered on the concrete. While leaping over him she brought her blade down and sliced him completely in half.
Gemini landed easily as the two halves of the monster crumbled to the ground. �That was too easy.� she muttered.
�It�s not over yet!� Cyprus warned.
The mud on the ground began to bubble and re-join. In a matter of minutes the brown�thing had reformed itself and was standing ready again. �Nots yet, girlies.� he hissed. �Buts mesa having mes a snacks firstest��
He turned to Cassie, smacking his lips again. The blonde-haired girl took her cue and ran for it. �Notsa so fast.� the monster slapped his hand forward, a side of it hitting Cassie hard. She was flung against the wall and dropped limp, unconscious.
�You back off!� Gemini chopped the hand off with her scythe, but she knew it was no good as it re-attached. �Cyprus, I could really use some help here!�
�Just hold him off a little longer!� Cyprus called, swooping down to the ground. �Look in yourself! You have the techniques to do it!�
�Okay!� Gemini called, leaping back into the fight. �But whatever you�re doing, hurry up!�
