Simple Calyx for the Kawasaki Rose

Part 1 – Crane Base

 

blue line = valley fold

red line = mountain fold

 

 Start with a square whose side is 1/3 the side of the square used for the rose. It need not be strictly exact.

 

 

 Open top flap…

 

 … then squash.

 

 Turn over and do the same on the other side.

 

 

 

 

 Fold edges to the center. Do the same on the back side.

 

 Fold top triangle downwards.

 

 Unfold folds from the last two steps.

 

 Open from the bottom, following the creases.

 

 

 

 Squash flat.

 

 Do the same on the back side. Finished crane base.
