1970 | Seven of the original ships including the Queen of Saanich were stretched by the addition of a 84-foot midsection for increased capacity. |
1981 | The Queen of Saanich and 3 other ferries had an extra vehicle deck installed. They were cut in half horizontally and lifted to add the deck which increased the vehicle capacity by 92. |
1992 | February - The Queen of Saanich and the Royal Vancouver collided near Active Pass injuring 23 people. The Royal Vancouver was operated by Royal Sealink Express which provided high-speed passenger service between downtown Vancouver and downtown Victoria for a few years. |
