Year Event
1963 Launched
1968 Several of the original ferries including the Queen of Saanich had extra platforms installed to increase capacity.
1970 Seven of the original ships including the Queen of Saanich were stretched by the addition of a 84-foot midsection for increased capacity.
1981 The Queen of Saanich and 3 other ferries had an extra vehicle deck installed. They were cut in half horizontally and lifted to add the deck which increased the vehicle capacity by 92.
1992 February - The Queen of Saanich and the Royal Vancouver collided near Active Pass injuring 23 people. The Royal Vancouver was operated by Royal Sealink Express which provided high-speed passenger service between downtown Vancouver and downtown Victoria for a few years.
