There
are 6 eponyms in Shalmaneser royal inscriptions, of which two (Assur-dammiq
and Musallim-assur) occur in the sequence discussed previously and the
Shalmaneser eponym would occur in year 1 (or possibly year 2).

Inscription
1 (Musallim-assur) is the only one that mentions the war in Hanigalbat.
Undated inscription 12 mentions other wars – without mentioning this
campaign – and is thus dateable earlier.
The building inscriptions of Inscription 12 refer to repairs to the
temple of Ishtar. The limited building activities described in
Inscriptions 17 (Musabsiu-sibitti) and 4 (Assur-kasid) point to very early
dates in Shalmaneser 1 for these eponyms. (This is consistent with floruit
information in Rimah and Billa as discussed later.)
Inscriptions
3 and 5 (Assur-nadin-sume) are very similar to Inscription 2 (Assur-dammiq),
mentionioning activities not included in the Musallim-assur inscription
[the enlargemnt of the forecourt of Nunnamnir],
and, in the absence of other information, point to a date near
Assur-dammiq for Assur-nadin-sume.
RIMA 16 (undated)
mentions building activities in Talmussu, Arbail and Isana and
possibly an Adad temple in Kahat.
SGKAO 15, 119 (H,137) refers to an expedition against
Hanigalbat in eponym Assur-nadin-ahhe [check-sume?].
