I already know that this is a complicated matter. In spite of the difficulties, in this page I'll try to show you more than 200 links to centers with medical information of general type, for any professional related to the Health and the Medicine: Hospitals, Universities, medical centers and diverse sanitary Institutions.

• Medical guides, Directories, and Indexes worldwide.
• If you look for some Hospital or University in particular , look for it in this list of more tha 600 Hospitals, Schools and Libraries of Medicine, and Universities all over the world that I am preparing. If it does not appear here, look at Hospital Web, at Harvard University, and also at the new HealthCareReportCards. The page of Hospitalia is new , and allows to locate equipment providers and medical instruments (in Spanish).
• If you look for some illness in particular, surely you will find it in this alphabetically ordered List of Diseases of the Karolinska Institute of Sweden, that allows you to find the most important information in Internet about hundreds of diseases, showing connections to the sites of greater prestige world-wide.

• If you look for medical software, visit the Medical Multimedia Reference Library, and take a look at Healthcare Informatics Standards. Also you have some programs here:

1. In " cdarchive.com " there is a manual of psychology, surgical guides for anesthesia, dietetic programs, and other programs.
2. Medical/Health/Educational Software has a lot of medical multimedia applications like Essentials of Human Phisiology
3. In this page of Medexplorer there are many Web sites on medical software.
4. In the Home Page of the EMBBS there are other programs for doctors.
5. But none of them allows you to do what the program Diagnosis98 does. I have proven it and it has surprised to me enormously, because it can find the diagnosis by giving it 3 or 4 symptoms and signs, and it says everything to you on that disease (In Spanish).
6. In the site of Dr. J. Paredes, from Alicante, Spain, there is medical software created by himself.

• If you look for data bases and/or access to MEDLINE, visit Internet Grateful Med, Pub Med, and the new MEDLINE Plus, from the NLM, with a list of some medical databases.
• If you want to listen to medical conferences, on the Web, visit this site: John Hopkins Saturday Medicine Rounds
• If you begin on the Internet and you look for information on how handling by the Network and the more necessary and basic programs, go to the Academic Computing, in the " New York University School of Medicine ". A great idea to start with is Geocities Health and Fitness Avenue, and the page related to Medicine.
• If you look for News with the last medical time, take a look at Physician's Weekly, and also at Prous , with other resources. Its section " Timely Topics in Medicine " offers medical information of numerous countries worldwide.

2º- Links of General Interest

Multiple accesses are proposed in Physician's Guide to the Internet, excellent site as a guide for doctors starting in the Web, like WebDoctor, and Physicians' Online, to surf during hours. And a very original site that I can advise to you is MedWorld, at the University of Stanford, ideal for students.

Also you'll be delighted with the Web page of the colleague  Dr.Luis Pareras: NeuroNet.
-These ones have got a lot of prestige between the international medical community: the Mayo Clinic, the Massachusetts General Hospital,  the American Medical Association , the Welch Library at John Hopkins University, and the Virtual Hospital at University of Iowa. There are some list of links at the Illinois State Academy of Sciences (ISAS).

 Clinical Cases: Everyone will enjoy with the Interactive Patient to practice with him, and at NetMedicine, where you'll find the "Cyber Patient Simulator", which you can explore, diagnose and treat.   There are more clinical cases at the University of Iowa: "Patients Simulations at the Virtual Hospital".
