March 25th :
Or how I spent my weekend by Toe knee aged 6 (x7.5)

As I type, I'm stuck on the XPT back to Smellbum and still a few hours away. Sydney threw EVERY possible problem it could think of at us and yet surprisingly I'm not actually disappointed at all. Monica was such a trouper (despite accidentally injuring me with her umbrella), the audience that was there was very appreciative though sadly, the video seems to be useless. But we may get stills for our Myspace site... I've put some grabs up on the photos page

Though the Headset Mic cut out Onstage, the foldback was dreadful and our backing did NOT like the soundsystem one iota and the hot weather turned into a big arsed storm as soon as I got there, (making our outside gig a bit of a Noah's Ark thing). I strongly felt Monica and myself work really well as a team. She's such a good performer onstage and does so much justice to my crap toons. By default I'm turning into the 80's stereotype of a po faced synth player (think the legend that is Ron Mael from the Sparks, or Dave Ball from Soft Cell), so I need a good singer to hide the fact that I'm crap.

That said though, I also got to go clubbing in Oxford St, do the tourist thing and see the Harbour Bridge/Circular Quay, eat lots of Amazingly crap XPT food (Next time I'll eat the packaging), met some really nice people in Sid-n-ee (and isn't that what it's REALLY all about?) and broke my heaphones for my MP3 player two hours out of Smellbum (that I bought five days ago, to replace the last set I broke).

Also I can't stress this enough: Big ups to the Score's Adrian Maiolla for suppling the Thai Red Bull that kept me awake for the nine hours I was in Sydney, as well as filling in for me on IrvineJUMP! You rule young man! I can't wait to check out your porn special...

In summation: Did we have problems? Absolutely! Are they sortable? Absolutely! Would I do it all over again? IN A SECOND!!!

Toe knee :-)
