| San Sebastain Old Town and harbour. San Sebastian is a reknowned gastronomic town with about thirty gastronomic societies. The Rough Guide to Spain praised one restaurant so highly that we just had to try it out. I had cod in a spicy tomato sauce. I have to say the food was dreadful, the spicy tomato sauce could have been Heinz tomato soup as it tasted exactly the same. When we looked round all the locals were eating fish and chips!! Never trust the Rough Guide - it's written by students. The photo on the left is a typical scene from the old town. The football strip that the boy is wearing is Real Sociedad's kit - the local team. |
| I'd watched the fishing boat come into harbour whilst walking round the headland, so I had to take a photo of it docked. It hasn't come out very well, but on the original photo you can see the Basque flag above the cabin. It's a sort of Union Jack but green, red and white instead of red white and blue. As it didn't come out - I found another picture on another website (bottom). |
