| As I mentioned on the previous page, the Neue National Gallerie was closed. You can get a day pass for free entry to all Berlin's galleries. It's cheap and well worth it. The only language I was good at in school was German, so I impressed myself by explaining why the gallery was closed and when it was going to re-open, to another disappointed punter in faultless German. Nearby, behind the church in the bottom photo, is the Gemaldegallerie which features a lot of older work dating back to mediaeval times. We gave it half an hour, but it wasn't really our cup of tea and we ended up being most impressed by an indoor water feature involving a large slab of stone. The Neue National Gallerie's courtyard features a number of sculptures, including a Henry Moore that Mandy is leaning against in the photo below. Henry Moore crops up a lot in our photos, as I'm sure you've noticed. I like the perspective in the photo on the left. The Gallery is the building I'm looking at, by the way. |
