Finally, what collection of Berlin photographs would be complete without a couple of pictures of the wall?
There's actually not much left of the Wall. You do find the odd remnant like the stretch complete with lookout post I glimpsed near Potsdamer Platz which was due for demolition. We found this stretch near Ostbahnhof. I realised after a while that the pictures must have been painted since re-unification as they are actually on the Eastern side of the Wall. They all had copyrights painted at the bottom as well, which gave it away a bit. Like, copyright 1993 etc.
I think the pile of Earth in the bottom photo is yet another construction site. It looks as though this bit of Wall has it's days numbered as well. |
