Winter In Summer
Chapter One
Winter Leigh McKay- 5 foot 3. Strong Southern accent. Blue eyes. Curly Blonde hair. She doesn’t like to be short, but she is. Or be called dumb cause of her hair color. 18 years old.
It was a cool day in Alabama as I got on the plane to go to California. I was visiting my aunt and uncle. They had just moved out there and had invited me to stay the summer as a graduation present.
I couldn’t believe it! I was finally out of High School and also going to California. My cousin was traveling with me. It was his dad and mom that I was visiting. I wish I was going alone, but there was no way that my mom would let me go without someone older.
Micah, my cousin, was way taller than me. We are so opposite it’s hard to believe we are even related. I have blonde hair while he has brown. I have blue eyes while he has brown. I am short he is tall. And not only are we different in looks but also in attitude. I was shy around new people but very hyper round people I know well. And he was more ‘I dont really give a care’ type of attitude. Even through all this we still got along pretty good.
When got in the plane, I sat on next to the window. “No way, shortee” Micah said, “I sit next to the window. Get up.”
“No. It’s my first time to fly. You can sit by the window on the way back. Please!” I begged.
“Ok, but I am holding you to that.” He said sitting down next to me.

After about three hours and half hours, we got to California. “Finally!” I said as I stepped into the airport
“Yea…I was getting sick of sitting next to that old man that smelt like smoke.” Micah said, pulling out his cell phone.
“Who ya calling?” I asked in my strong southern accent. I lived in the south all my life. To tell the truth I had never even been out of the south.
“My Dad…. Nana told me to when we got here.” He said dialing the number. He had moved in with my Nana and Papa after he graduated High School. He wanted to go to the college that they lived by.
“Oh…ok” He talked to his dad and found out that they were at the luggage claiming place.
“Micah!” Taylor, Micah’s little brother, yelled as he came running over to us.
“Hey Taylor, What’s up?” He said as he slapped his back.
“Hey Winter.” Taylor said looking at me.
“Hey Taylor.” I said giving him a small smile. Suddenly I was feeling very tired. I yawned.
“Hey Winter, getting sleepy?” Micah’s dad asked.
“Hey, yea just a little bit.” I said yawning again. “Ok, More than a little bit.”
“Well… The car is unlocked if you want to go take a nap. It is the red one parked in lot C row 5 space 12.”
“Gosh…this is a big airport isn’t it.” I said smiling, “See ya in a little bit.” I said and walked off in search of the car.
‘Lets see…was it lot D or C?’ I thought ‘I pretty sure it was D…….Yea….it was lot D row 5 space 12.’ She got the to the car. It was a red mustang “Wow” I thought as she got into the unlocked car. She settled in the back seat and fell fast asleep.

“Come on, Orlando,” I said as they walked to his car, “I said I was sorry, like ten time.”
“Elijah you were four hours late.” Orlando reminded him for the millionth time, “Do you know what I went through?”
“Yea yea yea. A fan recognized you and you had to sign autographs the whole time.” I stated,
“Well…do you know how crazy some of those girls are? One sat there telling me we were going to have 100 children. The girl even had names…. she told me every single one!” Orlando yelling.
I burst out laughing. “She…told…you every…. single…. one. That’s the..Funniest…thing ever!” I said in between laughs. They walked up to my red Mustang. I popped the trunk and Orlando put his bags in it.
“It wasn’t that funny.” I was still laughing.
“Whatever.” I said, as he started the car, “Wait till Dom and Billy hear about that one.”
“Oh No!” Orlando said, “If I don’t get enough from you I have to get some more from them.” He rolled his eyes. I started the car and we started down the road. After about 30 min. I turned the radio on.
“Come man, you can turn it up louder than that.” Orlando reached over and turned the radio all the way up.

Winter-
I jumped as someone turned the radio on full blasted, “What the….” I sat up just as two strange men screamed. The one driving swerved, but managed to pull the car over to the side of the road.
“What are you doing in my car?” He screamed
“I’m sorry…. I just…. I guess we were parked in C and not D. Dang it. I was wrong again.” I said more to myself then guys.
“What?” The other guy asked
“I was going to my uncle’s car to take a nap, cause I just got in from a long flight, and I guess I got the lot letters mixed up. I knew that him having a mustang was just to strange.”
“So you couldn’t tell that this wasn’t your uncle’s car?” The guy driving asked
“I have never seen my uncle’s car. And he said it was red.” I said
“What is your name?” The one in the passenger seat asked
“Winter Leigh McKay.” I said, “and as you probley guessed from my accent I am from the south. Alabama to be exacted.”
“Well….I am Orlando Bloom and this is Elijah Wood.” Orlando said pointing toward Elijah.
“Were have a heard those names before?” I asked thoughtfully
“Um…. we’re actors” Elijah said
“Oh…I would have never guessed that.” I smiled, “but would yall be so kind to take me back to the airport. It is getting late and I don’t want my uncle to worry.”
“Actually, it would be 12 A.M. by time we get back to the airport. Why don’t we just go back to my house and then you can call your uncle. And tell him you are staying with me. ” Elijah said looking at me though the rear view mirror.
“If that’s ok with yall…..I would love to.” I smiled and sat back.
“Ok.” Elijah pulled back on the road and started to drive to his house.
“How far do you live from the airport?” I asked looking out the window.
“Oh about two hours. Since it was a small airport out side L.A.” Elijah said as he looked over at Orlando who had fallen asleep.
“That was a small airport!” I said shocked. “It was ten times bigger than the one back home.” I layed down in the back seat
“Where do you live in Alabama?” Elijah asked but Winter was already asleep.
“Hey, Winter, wake up we’re here.” Someone said as they shook me a little.
“Just a little bit longer.” I said and rolled over.
“Come on, Winter, get up.” Elijah said shaking me a little harder.
“Ok Ok I’m up. I’m up.” I said sitting up and getting out of the car. I followed Elijah and Orlando up to the front door of a small house.
“Oh were here.” I said just getting awake.
Elijah laughed and said, “Yea.”
Elijah unlocked the door and we all walked in to the kitchen. He motioned to the phone, “There the phone if you want to call your uncle.”
“Ok………but you wouldn’t happen to have a phone book would you?” I said smiling, “I kind of don’t know the number.”
“Oh ok. It is under the phone.” He said getting a glass out of the cabinet “Do you want something to drink?” He asked me.
I shook my head no and begin to flip threw the phone book. “Great. They are not listed.” I said throwing the phone book on the counter.
“I guess I could drive you home in the morning.” Elijah said
“Yea.” I said sadly.
“Well don’t sound to excited.” Elijah smiled
“Oh it’s not that it is just that I don’t want my uncle to worry, and get mad at me.” I said looking down
“I am sure he won’t get mad. Come on. I will find you T-Shirt and show you a bed room you can sleep in.”
“Ok.” I agreed. And we went to bed.
