A/N: I don’t know Orlando’s mum’s name. I’ll pick one though…Victoria? That
works for me.
.::Chapter Thirteen::. //Meet The Blooms\\
Megan was hyperventilating. “I’m going to kill you after tonight, Orlando. I feel like I’m going to get sick.”
“Oh you wouldn’t want to do that.” Orlando said, while dressing Melissa.
“Which, kill you or get sick?” Megan asked.
“Neither.” Orlando replied. “Be calm, my mom’s not crazy and my sister’s very nice.”
“Yes, yes, I figure they’re not because of you, love, but, you know. I’m not good with this kind of thing.” Megan said.
“I think you should take a deep breath, go downstairs and get a good look at those four hobbits that have agreed to come and help you pull through tonight.” Orlando replied.
“Fine.” Megan said. “I think if I stay up here, I’ll end up peering out the window the whole time.”
She went downstairs to find Dom and Billy sampling each other’s recipes.
“So, how’s the lady of the evening doing?”
“Why does that make me sound like a vampire?” Megan asked Dom.
Billy laughed. “He’s trying to get you to lighten up. Which I think you should to. Lij?”
“Yup. Yup. Same here.” Elijah said, not wanting to get too into the conversation.
“But come on!” She said in fellow Aussie Lleyton Hewitt style. “I’m meeting his mum and his sister! You know? The FAMILY!”
“Yes, I think we know, Megan.” Dom replied, laughing. “We’ve all been there. And believe me, I think it’s worse for the guy.”
“I agree. You get drilled extensively by the father. Not good.” Billy said, shaking his head.
“Ah, but the girl gets drilled by the mother, who usually isn’t reluctant to get her little boy taken away from her.” Megan replied.
“Touché.” Elijah replied. “Has anyone here ever dated anyone Italian?” Dom and Megan raised their hands. “Aren’t they the HARDEST PEOPLE TO PLEASE?”
Dom nodded still taste testing his dishes. Elijah went off on schpeel about them being so nitpicky when Dom finally said “Lij.”
“What?” He asked, stopping his rants.
“Stop.” Billy answered. “Go do something like set the table.”
Elijah kept on muttering as he went into the dining room. The buzzer for the front gate went off. “Oh god, oh god, oh god.” Megan said.
Orlando finally came downstairs in khakis and a plain black shirt, Melissa, who almost threw a tantrum when Orlando took tights out of her wardrobe, in jeans and a t-shirt. “Megs, relax.”
“Do I look slutty? Should I go change? I think I should change.” Megan said, looking at the tanktop-skirt ensemble.
“Megs, you’re fine.” Orlando replied. “There’s the door, I’ll get it.”
Megan stood frozen in her spot. Billy looked at her and laughed. “What are you doing just standing there?”
“What?” Megan asked.
“Go out there!” Billy said, urging her. Megan breathed and walked out.
“And you must be Megan.” An older woman that Megan took to be his mother said, smiling.
“Hello Mrs. Bloom.” Megan said smiling.
“Oh please, call me Victoria.” She replied. “Your sister is the loveliest little girl. I’ve never seen a child so taken with Orlando.”
“Mum, Sam, come on into the sitting room.” Orlando said, setting Melissa down on the floor to lead the way.
“So, Megan, what do you do for a living?” Samantha, his older sister, asked.
“I’m a pediatrician. I’m kind of just waiting for my license to come in.” Megan replied. “I’ll be back to work as soon as I get it.”
Megan sat down next to Orlando’s mother, since Orlando decided to sit down next to his sister. “So how did you two meet?” Samantha asked, as Melissa looked at her, studying her.
“We met actually about a year and a half ago.” Orlando replied.
“I went to visit my cousin Viggo. And Orlando popped into our conversation.” Megan added.
“The rest is history.” Orlando grinned.
“Viggo Mortensen’s your cousin?” Samantha asked, wide eyed.
“Yes….” Megan replied slowly.
“Is he single?” Samantha asked.
“Um…last time I checked. Yes.” Megan replied.
“I LOVE Viggo!” Samantha shrieked.
“Oh, see now you’ve done it.” Orlando said laughing. “She’ll be going on and on about Viggo.”
“I only met him once at the London premiere of Fellowship.” Samantha said talking excitedly.
“Samantha…” Her mother said, a tone of motherly warning in her voice.
“Sorry. I get carried away.” Samantha replied, looking at Megan.
“It’s alright.” Megan replied. Billy, Dom and Elijah came into the sitting room.
“Ladies and gentlemen.” Elijah said acknowledging everyone.
“You would’ve been fine with Ladies.” Dom replied.
“Ah, too true.” Elijah said. “Anyway, dinner is ready. If you will please join us?”
“Hobbits, they make the perfect servants.” Orlando mused.
“I heard that!” Dom said, as they entered the dining room.

“So Megan, where in Australia did you live?” Samantha asked.
“I was a Sydney girl all my life.” Megan said proudly.
“Finding London a little chilly?” Victoria asked.
“Yeah. I mean, our winters aren’t even this chilly so, it’s something very new.” Megan replied, grinning.
“Well, it gives reason for me to be closer with her.” Orlando said, winking at Megan who was blushing furiously.
“Now, whoever taught him how to sweet talk women was a very smart man.” Victoria said laughing at her son.
“It came naturally.” Orlando said, smiling proudly.
“Ah, Orlando what’s that?” Billy asked.
“On your neck?” Dom asked. Orlando put his hands to his neck trying to find out what it was they were looking it.
“Oh wait, no I know what it is now.” Billy answered.
“What is it?” Orlando asked.
“Your ego was making your head larger didn’t you know?” Dom asked.
Samantha turned to Megan who answered her question before it could even get out of Sam’s mouth. “Yes, they do this all the time.”
